I am currently looking for a cottage to rent in Johannesburg South Africa. Preferably in the Randburg area if possible. If anyone can assist me with where to look for such a place, please help!!!!

I just checked and found some vacation rentals in Johnannesburg South Africa on www.craigslist.com

You will find South Africa under Countries in far right column.

Once you click on South Africa, it will give you a choice of 3 cities: (i) Cape Town, (ii) Durban and (iii) Johannesburg and I believe you desired Johannesburg so click there.

Vacation Rentals is located in the 3rd column from the left under "Housing" on the 9th and last line.

Unfortunately when I typed Randburg on the top line and did a wild card search, there were no current active listings.

I really am NOT FAMILIAR with South Africa so I did not click on available vacation rentals in Johnanesburg. What I am saying is that normally (a): one can send emails to the individual who placed the classified on craigslist and they normally respond if interested in proceeding, and (b) You could also list a posting right in that same exact spot like "LOOKING TO RENT COTTAGE in RANDBURG AREA of JOHANNESBURG" as the title.

How to find accommodation in Melbourne?

I am a migrant, planning to settledown in Melbourne in the near future. My biggest problem is finding accommodation, as I have learned that many real estate agents do not like letting apartments to jobless people. It will take several months for me to find work there and I do not have any close friends there, who could help me with my accommodation. The hotels seem to be so expensive, even the 'budget' ones like hostels. Could anybody tell me about any agencies or institutions who could help me in this regards please?

I have already got the Aussie permanent resident visa under 'Skilled Migrant' category, which doesn't need a sponsor.

In your place I would first go to a hostel (about 20-25 AUD - maybe less if you stay longer) and look for other accomodation when in Oz. That way you can talk to people face to face and you can probably easier convince a landlord by your appearance that you are a serious person. Maybe you can rent an apartment for a while which leaves you time for looking for a job.

If you have any (very positive) written recommendations from former employers, take them with you, as well as phone numbers. Maybe provide proof (bank statements, etc) that you have sufficient financial means to support yourself while unemployed and looking for a job.

Me and a friend of mine are looking for an area to move to with local colleges as well as student accommodation. Preferably a place thriving with students a good night life and cheap rent.

Is it possible to arrange employment and accommodation in Sydney prior to arrival from overseas?

I have already recently granted Permanent Residence visa of Australia under Class BN Subclass 136 Skilled – Independent. Under my visa status I am eligible to live and work anywhere in Australia. I am currently residing in Bangladesh and planning to migrate Australia soon preferably in Sydney. I am exploring the possibility to arrange employment and accommodation in Sydney prior to my arrival.

It depends on your field of work. For example my friend is a lawyer and he was hired through recruiters and video conferencing by one of the top tier firms. It really just depends on the position that you are applying for. It's rare to be hired without a face to face interview.

You would not be able to arrange a flat to rent if you are not in Sydney. Most real estate agents will not rent you a flat sight unseen, plus you need to sign documents and show evidence from your employer as to wages etc. Unless you put an ad on http://sydney.gumtree.com.au/ and see what you come up with - most flatmates would want to meet you first.

The best thing to do would be to send your CV to recruiters - look on http://www.seek.com.au/ and arrange interviews for when you arrive. Arrange to stay in a hotel or hostel for a month and then look for work and a flat.

I am disabled and require a little accommodation when working. However, I'm afraid that I will be passed over for prospective jobs if I mention my disability. I know they cannot "legally" pass me over for having a disability, but they can always say they found a "more qualified" applicant.

Any advice?

what is the accommodation of a undiagnosed child and what you should do as a beginning SPED teacher?

A 10 year-old child 2nd grade pupil suffers from the diasbility. she is undiagnosed by a medical expert and is, therefore, not benefiting from any secial educational accommodation that your school is supposed to offer. what should you do as a beginning SPED teacher?

I'm not sure if you are in US, but if you are, you are not legally suppose to do ANYTHING since the child is not in special ed and not recieving any services from this.

Yes you can help anyway, but without the child being in special ed, without the school doing a formal evaluation to see what the childs problems are, HOW will you know what to do? HOW will you know what the child needs?

Children with disablities need 'specialized' programs that help them. And schools in USA can not legally offer these programs to a child UNLESS they are in special ed.

As a special ed teacher, you aer ONLY suppose to help children that are IN special ed.

If the child has a disability, why is she NOT in special ed?

My husband & I have visted Boston, Marthas Vineyard, Kennebunkport etc pre children and really want to take our kids there, 9, 7 & 5 years of age. It's important to get the right accommodation for 5 of us and that there is stuff to keep kids interested. Bike riding, boat trips, parks, beach etc.

Consider Rhode Island. Our small state has many of the things you're looking for... here in Newport we have beaches, a beautiful big harbor with a wide range of boat trips, gilded-age mansions, many colonial era buildings, a fort, nature reserves, excellent shopping, world-class events etc. Within a short drive, you'll find much more - a great zoo in Providence, more beautiful scenery and beaches, woods, off-road cycle paths etc. It's also a great base for exploring further afield - you can get a fast ferry to Martha's Vineyard, and Boston is only 1.5 hours away by road. Cheaper family accommodation may be found just outside Newport in Middletown, Jamestown or Portsmouth.

London SE1, of which is in the borough of Southwark, this encompasses most of the area around waterloo, other parts of the postcode what you see: ie- SE1 5HN, The last part 5HN, only defines the street and house number in the area, so any information you need,just go onto the London borough of southwark web site., their are numerous student residential homes on the Southbank, try Bankside house.

Me and 3 friends are going to Miami on holiday in April. We are going to stay there for 2 weeks and we were looking to stay in a hotel but i think renting a flat may be a lot cheaper than staying in a hotel.
