Patch Passport: A Little Bit of Paradise at Noelle Day Spa and Salon Patch.com

You don't have to travel far to get away from it all. Noelle Day Spa & Salon , located at 421 East Central Street in Franklin, offers pampering beyond compare.

From relaxing pedicures to hair highlights and more, their friendly staff complement the serene atmosphere of the two-floors of "pick-me-up" heaven.

Patch sat down with owner Noelle Carpenter to find out the top summer services.

"People are busy, many are home with kids all summer and they need to get away for a couple of minutes for themselves," says Carpenter. "I've noticed many people are not taking extravagant vacations so they are treating themselves to beauty services locally."

Clients are heading in for:

1. Perfect pedicures: Toes are exposed during the summer months and you want them to look good. Ranging from $32 to $65, clients can sit back in their comfy massage chairs as toes, feet and legs enjoy some TLC. Favorite summer colors: Shiny blue and light colors like pink and peach.

Beauty salon/day spa music reccomendation?

I play alot of Buddha bar and zen connection type music, and need help with some music that is chilled, but with a little beat, and no bird/rainforest sounds or Enya.

any reccomendations would be great!

i would recommend you playing "neo-soul music". it's the latest and hotest music genre of today. this music can be played during a hype situation and a chilled one. most customers will appreciate this sound and will want to come back not only for the good services you provide but the subtle soulful tone/melody you are setting within your environment.

Alphabeat - Facsination, would be great for this sort of thing =],
and maybe Chris Brown - With you ..

I dont know how to single out some songs,
but maybe you can try some compilation cds?
cos it'll save you form buying single tracks or one whole cd.

since its for something like spa, salon,
maybe try and RNB compilation, or love songs, or even classical, non-lyrics songs.

Soft songs are recommended since you only want background music.
yep,
hope this helps!

Salon/Beauty Salon/Hair Salon/Day Spa, Whatever?!?

I want to open one of these and I can never get good answers! I have a few questions!! 1. Would I have to be a stylist to open a salon? 2. What do you want to see in a salon? 3. Would you take your child to a kids only salon? 4. What extras do you want in a salon (facials, waxing, nails)? 5. How to make a beauty service business reallllly successful?

Salon Owners help!! Customers/Clients tell me what you like/dislike!!

1.) no, you do not have to be a stylist, just have a good mind for business. You should however, contact a local cosmetology school and brush up on learning about scheduling appointments. You need to know how long it takes to do a cut, color, processing time, etc. Don't rely on your stylists to teach you this, they will resent you. Also, you should know the requirements to maintain a stylist license to make sure your employees are compliant with state rules.

2) I co-own a salon with my daughter(I am not a styist, she is) and we have a pedicure chair, manicure station, 3 wash stations and 6 styling stations. We offer facial waxing as well.

3) Not necessarily, we have parents bringing in their kids all the time. But some kids are scared to death to have their hair cut, so the kids only salon make them kid friendly.

4) I would like to have an ESTHETICIAN

5) Bring in a partner that has existing clientele. They will be less likely to leave. Join the local chamber of commerce and get involved with your community. Sponsor events such as bridal shows. Customer service is key, make sure your stylists are well-trained and give your customers special attention not just while in the chair. People like coming to their stylists because they can confide in them, they become friends in addition to giving them great service.
Buy a good salon software program(Salon Iris is a good one) Make sure you ask the right questions while interviewing. A good one to ask "where do you see yourself in 5 years". If they respond, I want to own my own salon, give them a pass. If they respond, I only want to do this part time, give them a pass. It is imperative you find stylists who are passionate about their craft.(we are learning this the hard way!). It is best to hire stylists right out of school when they are eager to learn and please. Make sure you provide continuing education.

I love the spa!
I think it's great that you want to open one.
No, I don't think you need to be a stylist to open a salon, just make sure you hire experienced stylists and such.
I think you should offer things like eyebrow and lip waxing, manicures, pedicures, facials, massages, and possibly tanning.

1. Depends on the state you are in. Most states you have to have a license and work a a stylist for 2 years before opening your own salon.
2. Clean, organized, relaxing, classy atmosphere.
3. Yes of course
4. massages, waxing, facials, manis and pedis only. FULL SERVICE
5. Be professional, comparable prices, exceptional service, good advertising, good business hours

Anybody recommend a good Beauty Salon/Spa in York?

Me and a couple of friends are going to York for the day one Saturday for my birthday and fancied booking ourselves in for some kind of treatment, maybe a facial or manicure, or both! Anyone got any recommendations? We'll be shopping most of the day so it will need to be in York city centre where all the shops are. Don't want to spend more than about £30 each.

Is it possible to get hiv in a beauty salon/spa?

I recently went to get a wax in a salon. The woman used tweezers to pull some hairs from the area that wasn't clear after waxing and made me bleed in a few places. About 3 weeks later I felt really exhausted for 2 days, as if I was really sick but had no fever or any other signs. I know the chances are pretty small but I am worried sick now. I am always very careful with that stuff but once I start worrying I can't get myself to stop. I know I have to wait at leats 3 months to get tested but I feel like it is such a long time. Do you think its likely to get HIV in this way?
Oh yea, it also so happened that I got a cold before that - runny nose/sore throat because I just got back from a warmer vacation place, but this was like almost 2 weeks before I experienced the symptoms outlined above.

it is deffinitely not likely to get HIV that way. the general rule is, if the blood is dry, it is no longer infectious--HIV does not tolerate exposure to air. so if those tweezers had wet blood from the previous use, and that blood was infected with HIV, and in a relatively high viral count, and that blood managed to touch your "wounds" from the hair being pulled out. . .i think you get the point. it is extremely unlikely for everything neccessary to have happened. yes, mild cold or flu like symptoms a few weeks after exposure does happen (when the body first starts to try and fight the virus), but it is just extremely unlikely that you were exposed this way, it probably was just a cold. go ahead and get tested in a few months though, it will make you feel much better.

How to make a Party Hall into a Spa/Beauty Salon (12 year old Party)?

Hopefuly I will be able to rent a hall for my boyfriends neice's B-day party that I am planning. At the beging of the party her Girl Friends from school are going to come over and get their nails done, hair, makeup, made put on face masks etc.. but I wasnt sure how I could set it up to look cute and be functional. I wanted to have somekind of comfy chairs to use but the ones in the Hall are metal and not comfy at all I though about maybe putting pillows on them or something. I was going to set up a table that had all the nail polish on it and makeup and a sign in sheet like a real beauty salon. Have some face towels and some bowels to dip their feet and hands into but I am not sure how to make it all come toghther and what kind of bowels to use. Sugestion on what to use and how to set it up would be great thanks!

go to target or wal-mart and purchase normal garden chairs, or what not, but a coshin on it, put a fuzzy blanket on it...thats what i did for a friend of mine's little sister and it worked out great! have fun with the party! i hope it works out!

Where is the best Beauty Salon in Orange County CA?

Hi guys, my birthday is coming up and I'd like to take my girls out for a day at the beauty salon to get our nails done, our hair done and also our makeup. However, we can't afford to go somewhere too fancy since we will need money for the night too.

Do you guys know of some place in OC Ca that is not too pricey, with a good setting and good services? I don't need a spa or facial, just nail, hair and makeup.

Thanks.
