European Wax Center Centennial-Streets at Southglenn Provides Expertise ... PR Web (press release)

Denver, CO (PRWEB) October 19, 2011

European Wax Center Centennial-Streets at Southglenn now offers the Unlimited Wax Pass. European Wax Center Centennial-Streets at Southglenn’s Unlimited Wax Pass provides pass holders with unlimited waxing service for one year at a set price, saving guests up to a few hundred dollars a year.

The Unlimited Wax Pass provides guests with the European Wax Center 4-Step Comfort Wax System. The wax specialists first cleanse and protect the skin with specialized European Wax Center products. The Comfort Wax is specially formulated, using 100% beeswax with no alcohol, is strip free, and sticks only to the hair, not the skin, rendering the waxing process much less painful. After waxing, the skin is then treated with a rejuvenating serum. Giving guests a unique and more pain free experience waxing in Centennial, Denver, Colorado .

“I don’t think skin care should be a secret. I think it should be open and honest, telling everyone how to do it and get the best results,” Says Kristy Elias, Manager of European Wax Center Centennial-Streets at Southglenn. “The great part about waxing is that the more frequently you wax the sparser your hair will become. Hair comes in thinner, the process also becomes less painful, and skin is rejuvenated each time you wax.”

Bikini Waxing Nostalgic with Shannon Hatch

Confident that it can't possibly hurt that much, Shannon Hatch documents her first bikini wax. It's of the Brazilian variety, because ...

Bikini wax?

I am planning to get a bikini wax (Brazillian, I suppose) prior to my wedding. I know that after the first time, some people experience tenderness (probably an understatement) and some redness. Naturally, I don't need either of these on my honeymoon, but I still want it to look and feel great. So my question is how long before the wedding should I make the waxing appointment to be sure that I look and feel my very best???? Thanks for your input!

First of all best wishes for your wedding!!

First, you must be sure that you want to get a brazilian bikini wax. Consider trying first the standard bikini wax which will remove the hair from your bikini line or the full bikini which will remove most of your pubic hair apart from the most sensitive areas. A brazilian bikini wax removes ALL your pubic hair.

We advice you to get your first brazilian bikini wax by a professional. Many women who try to give themselves a brazilian bikini wax, cause damage and their bikini area looks worse after the brazilian wax.

You could find a salon that offers a brazilian bikini wax in any big US city. Just look in the “Yellow pages” or in any search engine for “brazilian wax” + “name of your city”.

After locating a salon, find out how many brazilian waxes they do a week? Make sure that the persons who are responsible for the brazilian bikini wax are experienced. Ask to talk to customers that got a brazilian bikini wax from the same salon.

Open your purse. A brazilian bikini wax may cost up to 100 US dollars. However, the average cost is about 50 bucks. We advice you pay not less than the average price to get a professional treatment.

Come to your scheduled treatment with a good mood after taking a warm shower cleaning your pubic area. You will get into a separate room or a hole with a curtain. Then you will lie on a bed with your knees up or legs down. Then, the therapist will trim down your pubic hair with scissors to a length of about a quarter inch.

Afterwards, the real thing will start. The waxer will start the waxing process. He will use a low temperature wax to cause less pain. When the wax cools he will pull it out with your pubic hair. This part is the most painful one. However, the first time is the most painful one. The hair can be pulled out easier in the following times. The waxer will ask you to get into some weird uncomfortable positions – holding your legs up, to the side and even over your head.

If the waxer is a good one the painful part will end quickly. If you feel it takes too long or that the pain is unbearable, just tell the therapist that you need a little rest. When the waxing is done a soothing lotion should be applied to the pubic area. Your bikini area will stay smooth for at least 3 weeks with no maintenance at all. Make the most out of it.

It is important to follow a few basic steps when you prepare for a bikini wax. First, of course, you should not get a bikini wax if you are diabetic, suffer from psoriasis or other skin conditions, or if you take Retinol or Accutane. If you are unsure, ask you physician whether you can go ahead with a wax.

When people prepare for a bikini wax, particularly if it is their first time, one big consideration is pain. Aestheticians usually recommend that you not get a wax when you are menstruating or pregnant, as sensitivity to the pubic area is usually increased at this time. Additionally, you may want to take ibuprofen or aspirin an hour before the wax to cut down on pain. Waxing does hurt, but how the wax is performed can make it hurt less. Choose a person with a lot of experience, and if possible get recommendations from friends. Someone new to waxing will probably not be as efficient; so don’t have your waxing done at a beauty college.

To prepare for a bikini wax, you also need to be sure your pubic hair is of the right length. If it is too long, the aesthetician will probably have you trim it, or if it is too short, it may be hard or impossible to remove. Aestheticians recommend shaving the bikini area about three weeks prior to getting the wax, and if you plan a Brazilian wax, you will need to trim the hair to about ¼ to ½ inch (.63-1.52cm) if you haven’t shaved it three weeks before the wax.

Another important step to prepare for a bikini wax is to avoid swimming or sunning oneself for a full 24 hours prior to the wax. After the waxing, you will want to consider the same for a couple of days. The skin can have some redness or bumping, which can be helped by ice. There is also the occasional ingrown hair, which can be iced, and then have anti-bacterial cream applied to ward off infection. Aestheticians recommend gently exfoliating the pubic area before the wax, and then doing so regularly after the wax to cut down on ingrown hairs.
Another consideration when one wants to prepare for a bikini wax is what type of underwear, if any, should be worn. Usually wearing underwear is up to the person getting the wax. If you feel uncomfortable removing your underwear, choose a skimpy pair, preferably a thong, and the aesthetician will work around the undies, and ask you to hold them when he or she needs to wax a covered area.

Many recommend wearing old underwear, to prepare for a bikini wax, or those that can be easily washed, as occasionally residue wax will get on the underwear. Also an important tip is wearing pants or a skirt that can easily be washed, instead of dry-cleaned, so that if any wax gets on your outer clothes, you are not out the cost of dry-cleaning them.

Lastly, to prepare for a bikini wax, if you are planning a Brazilian, you may want to schedule at least 30 minutes, and occasionally more. The salon will usually tell you how long the waxing process takes, and the lesser the time, the better. However, some women feel that when the waxing is done in small patches, though the process takes longer, it is usually more effective and less painful. So this is an individual decision, and can be based on your level of comfort with the process.

My personal experience:
It doesn't hurt as much as people say and you should notice that the people who overreact the most are people that have never ever had a bikini wax! Now:
Stay out of the sun and the sea 24 hours before and after the bikini wax.
Wear comfortable underwear and don't apply lotion on the bikini area for at least 12 hours after the waxing.I use this one:
http://www.auravita.com/products/AURA/JOHN12016.asp
It makes the skin very soft and it also helps with the irritation(if there is any)
If you want to feel comfortable at your honeymoon I suggest to have your bikini waxed at least 3 days before.
Hope I helped!!Have a great honeymoon!!

2-3 days before, at a minimum. Just in case.

What is a good bikini wax kit or just wax that works good and gets all the hair?

I am interest getting a bikini wax because I am tired of shaving. I have tried Nair roll on wax and it did not work at all. Im afraid going to get a wax professionally is gonna be too costly.
Can some recommend to me brands of bikini waxes you have tired and how you liked it?

I like Gigi all purpose honee wax, but you also need the wax warmer, strips, applicators, and creams, and it is a little difficult to do because it is a little hard to see, and sometimes i have to talk myself into pulling, depending on how often you do it, I would really recommend going to get it done, also prices vary depending on where you live, if you look around you could find places that do it for as little as $50, or as much as $100. Good luck

I use Sally Hansen Brazilian formula microwave wax. Just make sure you have some cotton balls and baby oil (I use baby oil gel because its less messy) to get off any extra wax. It doesn't wash off with soap and water.

What should i use to wax my bikini area?

I shaved my bikini area about two days, and have the itchy stubble. I would like a more longer lasting solution, but products i have tried recenetly dont seem to want to grub the stuble, though there is some hair growth above the skin. Does anyone have any suggestions or do you should it can be taken care of professionally? Do i have to let the hair grow out or what? I have used Surgi Wax Honey wax strips and Surgi Wax No Strip bikini wax.
Would these products work on stubble though?

Seek a qualified aesthetician!! Don't settle for the hair shop lady doing it. Make sure the aesthetician has had experience since school waxing the bikini...especially if it turns into a Brazilian or Sphinx waxing. The bikini area hair is coarser and more deeply rooted than other body hair. Also the skin in the area is more pliable so usually assisting the aesthetician in holding back skin and/or a body part is not unusual in a typical bikini wax. Make sure you eat well, drink plenty of water and get good sleep the day before the procedure. Oh yeah, hair should be at least 1 1/4" long before going in for the waxing. If it is longer, trimming is necessary. Get off the bed if she doesn't break out the trimmers! Good luck, take a squeezy ball and breathe!

Get it done professionally.

Nair works great!

rubbing it with candle[s] is better-of

nothing beats a beauty parlor, specially on this subject!!

I would NOT try to do this on my own .... it can be dangerous for you. If you purchase the wrong wax or do something wrong it can be extremely painful! However if you insist on doing it yourself go to your local Sally's or if you don't have one find a dealer who seels GIA waxes. The sugar waxes and brazillian waxes they sell are very nice they heat evenly and are very simple to use.

EDIT: A lot of waxes are made for stubbly areas. They usually work best when the hair is about 1-2 CM long. This way the wax can attatch itself easily without having untameable hair in the way.

I've waxed my legs when the hair was quite long and I missed spots because the other hair was so long the wax couldn't reach my skin to grab onto the shorter hairs.

Your best bet is getting it done professionally.

By a professional.

GOtta let the hair grow till about 1/2 inch long, then use some Gigi honee wax with wither muslin strips or pelon. Good luck.
Also, think about going to your local beauty school for a cheap but professional wax.

What areas does a basic bikini wax cover?

I've never gotten one and don't think I want to dive head first into a Brazilian for my first time, but I do want more than just the bikini line waxed. Does a basic bikini wax get just along your bikini line, or does it also include that whole front area?

unless you have a really cool waxer lady they normally just stick to the sides about an inch or two in from btwn the side and your leg and then about an inch or two off the top. that's it. when you go for the brazilian they will take the whole front even the little bit that's just inside which is very fine hair and then all the way over to like your butt. you bare all with the Brazilian. get a waxer that, at the moment i forget but it's the wax that they put on you then use an ice cube to harden which feels good bc it's really hot (when they put the wax on) the ice cube rolls over it (cooling the area and sorta soothing it) and then they pull.

the bikini line
and butt checks

How do I prepare myself for my first bikini wax?

I have never had a bikini wax before (have shaved) and am about to go on holiday's. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to prepare for getting a bikini wax. Should I trim my hairs? How painful is it. Some people have told me to take painkillers before hand does this help?

Haha!
1) Make sure you have enough hair to wax. 2cm and above is good. The waxer will let you know if its not (call beforehand).
2) Pulling out hundreds of hair follicles is bound to hurt. Yes, it hurts, but its bearable and when its done, you will realise how much it is bearable.

Taking pain killers beforehand is silly. If anything, take them after.

The only thing that hurts when I get it done, is if the hair is too long. Make sure you let the waxer know that its your first time, and you are worried it will hurt.

You need to have 1/4"-1/2" of hair (generally about 2 weeks growth), so if it's longer than that do trim it. It's pretty painful the first time. Don't get waxed just before or during your period. And it doesn't hurt to pop some aspirin about half an hour before your appointment.

The lady who does mine has a good info section on her site: http://www.bellabrazilspa.com/brazilian-wax-faq.html

one word. ALCOHOL.

Does a bikini wax take off hair in between the legs down there or just on the sides?

I’ve never gotten a bikini wax before and I’m wondering- does the bikini wax take off just the sides that you can see from the front or does it also include some of the hair in between the legs? I want to nix some of the hair in between too so I’m not sure if I should get a bikini or Brazilian wax. Please let me know!

Yes it takes off the hair between ur legs down there!
Basically wear a bikini bottom and wherever hair is poking out around yuor crotch is what they take off.
I recommend wearing a very skimpy pair of underwear so they really go towards the bikini line and take out more hair.
If you wear big under wear (that covers more) they will only wax up to the underwear line.

If u have never had a bikini wax get that before a brazillian because it hurts like hell and your skin really needs to get used to the feeling off hot wax being pulled off ur skin.

bikini will take of the parts mainly like around your vag but on your legs

brazilian will take off the hair farther in so there is only like a smaller strip of hair down your vag

Brazilian is the best way to go.

Bikini wax is to shape the hair around the vagina area.
A brazillian is removing all hair on and around the vagina.
x

I think brazilian is the best , but is really painfull, has to be in all the way down lol, and you have to open your legs and doggy position as well lol

I just had my first wax today and let me tell you, it's not nearly as painful as everyone puts it out to be. I am such a baby and stumping my toe hurts, and for a few seconds it hurts like hell but its over just as fast as it happens. There are many types of waxing and as soon as you figure out what you want, the person doing it will guide you through it!

How do I get rid of excess bikini wax after the wax?

My aesthetician didn't get all the wax off after my bikini job. How do I remove it?

As an aestetician, I can personally vouch for the efficacy of using a crop to remove excess wax.

Azulene oil Its sold at drugstores.

Avon's Skin so Soft Original Oil works great for this.

I am an aestheticain as well. I would hope that if I left wax on you that you would come back in so I could get the rest of it off. You having to pay more money to finish the job isn't right. Trust me she won't mind you calling her or stopping by. Good luck.

Put baby oil on a paper towel and rub.

goo be gone works for me.

i take a shower after having waxing done, any bits that have been left usually come right off with soap and warm water

What's the average amount of wax strips used in a bikini wax?

I know there are several ways in which the bikini line can be waxed. However I just wanted to know the ballpark amount of strips ripped off in a regular bikini wax, brazilian wax, or any other forms of waxing along the bikini area.

Kinda hard to say - it depends on how hard your hair is to remove, if there are any problems with temperature of the wax, how big the strips are cut, how much hair there is to remove, how big of an area the hair is being removed from. I'd say maybe 6 - 8 strips for bikini line, somewhere around 20 for a brazilian. Just all depends on the waxer and the person being waxed.

How do I undergo my first brazilian bikini wax?

Since, past 7 years i have been using a razor but now I wish to undergo a brazilian bikini wax. Also tell me as to how do it myself , in my pubic areas.

Don't do it yourself, go to a salon and get it done by a professional. My girlfriend did it herself, but got much better results from a salon. Its worth it.

What do I need to know about getting a bikini wax?

I've never waxed any part of my body other than my eyebrows. I'm considering trying out a bikini wax since shaving that area can be difficult. What do I need to know before I get one done? (Other that it may hurt, of course.)

Thanks in advance!

You need to know about the salon's sanitation practices: does the technician wear gloves? Are the wax applicators disposed of after a single use?

You also need to know that around your monthly cycle, having a bikini wax is more painful than at other times of the month; so be sure to schedule accordingly.

You might want to try a basic bikini wax your first time so you can get an idea of how painful it'll be for you. If you don't find that very painful, a brazilian shouldn't be a problem. There are only a couple of strips that really *hurt* me, but the pain is over with pretty quickly. It's way better than shaving, imho.

You can take a couple ibuprofen before your appointment; it does seem to help. You can also buy topical anesthetic creams that can help ease the pain: http://www.topicaine.net/page/page/770006.htm
