Music: wasp's Latest Has Me Waxing Nostalgic In Utah This Week

In my late teens and barely-20s, my leisure attire consisted of cut-up jeans topped with re-proportioned tees that featured my favorite metal bands. My hair was a catch-all of whichever color suited my mood (black with a purple patch, blonde with black streaks, and so on). I had a nose ring and a smiley (a ring in the skin that connects your top lip with your gums, which I actually just took out last month). My appearance was meant to show off my lifestyle, and to attract those with similar tastes in music. My favorite shirt, which I still wear out to concerts, boasted a snarling Blackie Lawless with "W.A.S.P." emblazoned in red across the back. Coincidently, I was wearing that same shirt during both of my most memorable W.A.S.P. moments.

When I was 19, I was moving out of my tiny studio apartment in the Avenues with the help of my boyfriend and friend. We were tossing back bottles of Rolling Rock throughout the process, which made the couch decision easy. You see, I had bought

Body Waxing?

Ok, so I am on a swim team and I would really like to get rid of some unwanted body hair (ie back, bikini line, face, ect...) but I am not really sure what to do. What is waxing even? Do you have to get it done at a salon or can you do it at home?

Go online or ask around for a reputable salon. (You want a place that's clean and sanitary.) Often times a local nail salon or tanning salon will offer the service. Its pretty simply. Warm wax is applied to the unwanted hair. A piece of material is placed over the wax, and RIPPPPPPP!!! They pull the hair out by the root. Now I'm not going to lie to you and tell you that it tickles. My first bikini wax I thought I was going to cry! But its not NEARLY as bad as you think. I was just so nervous and didn't know what to expect. You can do it at home, but unless you know exactly what you are doing, I wouldn't risk it. You could burn yourself or end up in a lot of pain. Just ask around (maybe a team mate will know of a place.) and good luck to you! The results last a lot longer than shaving.

Or if you don't want to go to a salon you can buy waxing strips and do it yourself. :-)

If you are really hair do it, no one likes hair people. Unless they are hair themselves I guess. Yuck! You can do it at home or in a salon. Be prepared to feel some pain. Good Luck.

Waxing is best done at a salon for large areas. Look for ones which offers body waxing packages, for better prices. On the other hand, you may want to consider laser hair removal.
Waxing involves the use of warm, sticky goop - sometimes containing sugar and lemon - to coat the hairs before strips of cloth are applied to those sticky patches. Then, these strips are pulled off along with the wax and the hairs stuck in it.

you can do it at home if you know what it is all about! best u go to a salon. They have a wax made of honey and lime, which they warm up and then apply onto small portions of the part u want waxed. they then put a cloth piece on the wax and yank it in a swift pull, so that the hair comes off the body from the roots, thus ur hair growth also minimises. it is a bit painful but not so much if you have it done by a pro.

I assume you are a guy. If you are on a swim team, and have the nerve, ask some of the females on your team about waxing. The odds are they do some or all of their bikini area. If you are respectful I think they will give you an honest answer. Don't try it yourself! Let an expert do it. More and more salons offer waxing services for men. Just call around and ask. They will tell you if they do or not.

dont do it at home, it is a huge mess, and is far more painful.

you dont have to get it done at a salon, but it is recomended, it is fast and simple and it will be less of a mess when you do it at a salon. waxing is when they apply a warm wax to your unwanted hair and apply a strip of material over it and pull it up removing all of your unwanted hair. it hurts but it is worth it.

you can do it either way. Hot waxing is just wax (usually sugar wax) that adheres to the hair and the top layer of skin (which is dead). I do it myself because the salons that are close to me don't do it right. I would suggest getting it done professionally the first time so you can observe. Just be sure to take it off a lot faster than you might want to, or it hurts. Nair and Sally Hanson are the best brands, but be sure not to get the cream that you wipe off, cuz that doesn't work at all, it just leaves a lot of stubble. Follow the directions, too. :-P

Waxing is temporary hair removal method.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.

go to s salon and get wax they will do it quick and sometimes pain less

where can i get full body waxing for men in singapore done by females?

where can i get full body waxing (inluding brazillian waxing) for men in singapore done by females. i dont want any gay men touching me at wrong places.

try strip. www.strip.com.sg

Go to any unisex brazilian wax parlour and specifically ask for a female waxer. There are lots of other guys who would never let another guy touch them. I'm not sure where exactly these palours are, but I believe seeing one in Cathay Cineleisure(not the Orchard one, but the one down the road from Plaza Singapura), so you could try there.

Where can you buy those strips that come with body waxing kits?

I want to buy a large supply of just the strips, not the entire body waxing kit. Any ideas?

What about Sally's Beauty Supply?

At the "strips that come with body waxing kits" shop

Wal*Mart,Target..........

I use regular paper.
If you put on the wax the paper will act just the same as the strips you get in the pack.

i buy mine online from salon services

at any cosmetics shop or chemist shop

Is there are good place to have body waxing done near Minneapolis, MN?

I need to get body waxing done this week for my first time, but I don't know anyone who has ever done this. Where should I go for reasonable prices and a comfortable experience?

Ive had it done at Rocco Altobelli there are several locations around the Twin Cities they do a good job and it's comfortable. Also try The Day Spa in Edina.

Does slow-hair-growth lotion (for body waxing) really work?

After body waxing, does slow hair growth lotion really slow the re-growth of hair or is it pretty much ineffective?

yes it works

do not know, but i really suggest you use VEET- it hurts less than wax )hate to say it but men are wimps when it comes to pain) so use that.

what works better to get rid of body hair? waxing or shaving?

what works better to get rid of body hair? waxing or shaving?
and how do you do either one without breaking out or getting a rash? Is it true soap and water works better than shaving cream? Where and what brands of wax should I get?
Oh just about any part...
My legs, armpits,arms,back,etc
I really hate ANY body hair, I want all of it gone!
Why does it matter? Dose shaving work better for some areas and waxing works better for others?

Definitely waxing. It's not hard to do yourself at home, as long as you know what you doing. The source link is a series of videos about how to do waxing at home - PLEASE watch that before you try, especially if you've never done it before. You don't want to have a 40-Year-Old-Virgin scene on your hands. Good luck.

Does repeated body waxing really make hair grow back thinner?

I'd like to get rid of some of my body hair. It's too much.

Yes I was told this from a doctor

Is Waxing body stop growing hair in body or make it slower?

I want to stop growing my hair in back of my body. Can i do it with waxing? How long should i use it? Is it useful to spot it?
is it possible to wax the face????

waxing is a good way to remove unwanted hair and to slow down the growth of hair. if you want a permenant solution to getting rid of hair there is lazer treatments. but they are expensive.. i personally think waxing is the best way to get rid of unwanted hair.
