Teen takes passion for pool to award-winning heights Basehor Sentinel
“He realized how good he actually was,” his grandfather, Larry Mitchener, said of the tournament results.
Now, Anderson thinks he is ready to take the ultimate step in playing pool.
“I think I’m going to try to step it up and play professionally,” he said.
Anderson was first exposed to pool by Mitchener. When Anderson was just 2, his grandfather would prop him up on a chair next to the pool table so Anderson could roll the balls across the table. He was 3 when he got his first cue, and he started playing – and beating – his grandfather’s friends by age 7.
Anderson’s mother and grandmother also are avid pool players, and he started playing on a league team, called “All in the Family,” with his grandfather, grandmother and Mitchener’s brother, Mark.
He won his first tournament at age 8 and soon began playing tournaments throughout the country. He has won tournaments in six states, and played tournaments in 10 states.

How do I make a custom vinyl pool float/raft?
I'm wondering what's the best way to make a custom pool raft/float. I've done some research and a lot of sites talk about vinyl welding, but I'm not sure what the correct process is. I would like the float to be able to support one person. Floats have stitching, welds, separate air pockets and I would like to be able to use those ideas with my own project. Thanks for any help!
Floats don't have stitching. The holes would let out all the air. They are welded by a machine that presses the seams together with a little bit of heat.

What is the best custom made pool stick to buy? I'm getting it for my soon to be husband for a wedding gift
Well thats a nice thought "BUT" My vote would Be Richard Black's Signature Sticks From 9 to $14K
If you mean a production 2pc stick A longoni but still $4K
A joss at about $650
I would spoil the suprise and just ask which one he would want,It wont do him much good if he cant shoot with it, I know I have a few high dollar wall hangers myself
There are many very good cue makers out there. However most of the ones that are considered to be the best have very long waiting lists and the cues can run from several hundred to several thousand dollars.
If you buy one of their cues on the secondary market you may have to pay a premium to get it now instead of waiting a long time, which can drive the price up even further.
I would suggest AzBilliards forums as a great reference for researching cue makers. They have a cue maker review section as well as a wanted/for sale section, which can be a great way to see what the current market values are. You may also find the perfect cue for sale on the forums. Just look around a bit and you can learn a lot about cues, and also about who are reputable sellers etc.
Best of luck with your search.

These are some of the considerations you have. What kind of tip you will have at the end of the shaft? A soft tip is usually good for a soft shooter and a hard tip is suitable for a hard hitting shooter. Does he prefer a thin or thicker diameter in the shaft? There's the length of the cue as well as the weight to consider. Does he typically shoot with a light or heavy cue? Does he like a screw joint or a slip joint in his cue? Those are just some things to take into account while you're looking for his cue, not to mention that prices can range from $49.00 to well over $1,000.00.
I suggest you talk to some of his friends that he plays pool with regularly and tell them what your plans are. They should be able to fill you in on all the details about a cue that he would like to have and they will also be able to suggest where to purchase the cue locally. Once again, it's a wonderful idea and gesture on your part. I hope this was some help.
Where is the best place you can get custom made pool/snooker cues which are a really decent quality?
i need to buy a need one but i want to buy a really good one try and help us please!
The best cue that I've ever come across is the Schuler Cue. Every Schuler shaft fits every Schuler handle ever made. You can easily switch from a shaft for pool to a shaft for snooker. The joint is the main difference in the Schuler. It provides for perfect harmonics and has an unmistakable feel in your grip hand. It's the only cue I recommend to my students. Check out the website and see for yourself. You can always email me with any specific questions. M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.
P.S. Tony is right, shop around. There are many good cues on the market.
they have the best prices and the largest selection on the web
SCHON CUES are the best cuemaker period

alot of money u can buy a joss cue or a balabuschka
they cost 700-10,000 meucci on ebay go 4 about 150 -below
new is best if you r great used if it is your 1st or 2nd stick buy a sneaky pete 4 about 40-50 bucks they look just like a house cue
ask the person u buy it from and tell them how good u r
and they will tell u what stick u should have get a decent case
4 the stick, around 20-100.00 bucks gl
You should not spend more than $250.00. Generally the more the cue cost the more exotic woods, inlays and "stuff" are added. For the fanatic and collector it is the cuemaker or cuemaker & "stuff" on the cue.
You can go to azbilliards.com or muellers.com or type in "cue sticks", "billiard cues", or "custom cues" in your searchengine for a cue.
Here are some names of relatively inexpensive good cues: Cuetec, Mali, McDermott, Action, Meucci you can start with these. Hint, Sometimes you can find these cues at a Pawn Shop for a steal! Good Luck!
i clicked on the shuler website, its a pool cue website. this is for the snooker fans. http://www.parris-cues.co.uk/home.html

how do figure out the exact gallons for a custom built pool for correct chemical usage.?
Do you regret building an inground pool?
I am looking into adding a nice custom pool to my backyard. This will cost lots of $$$$ and I am nervous that I will regret it later. Does anyone have a pool that they installed then wished they hadn't?
Yes, it was nice when the kids were little. Once they got older I was just keeping a pool clean for nothing. I would get an above ground so it can be taken down. Plus in our town our property taxes went up for the inground pool.
Do you recommed getting a custom gate for my pool or getting one of those safety mesh pool covers?
Cost v. safety considerations. I have a kid...
it is the law to have some sort of locking mechanism on a door or gate. my indoor pool has a locking door. to be safe, most kids are clever enough to figure out a locked gate, so it would be best to figure out a design with a pool cover also that takes a combo to open or something, it took me 2 weeks at age 4 to figure out how to unlock, and get into the pool room. ps a self locking gate is the best.
