Cadillac's Connected Car System Arrives in Style Wired News

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — While Ford may be built tough, Cadillac is known best for one thing: Swagger.

So when the company finally debuted its long-awaited connected-car solution in its fleet of luxury sedans, we knew it would be with style.

Cut to “CUE,” Cadillac’s touch-based, in-dash entertainment control system announced on Oct. 12 at the CTIA mobile technology conference in San Diego. It’s essentially a marriage of style and automotive applied science, fit snugly into the dashboard of GM’s most upscale line of automobiles.

The premise is simple: CUE — or “Cadillac User Experience” — builds on the growing adoption of smartphones and tablets in the market, focusing the in-car dashboard electronics system on an 8-inch touch-based LCD interface. Application menu screens are stripped-down, minimalistic and navigable by swipe, as if you were browsing through the different panes of an iPad strapped to your car’s dashboard.

What would be the best hair cut/style for a longer oval face and thin blond hair?

I have long blond hair that is very thin/fine. I'm tall and have a very European face which is a little on the long side. (Celebs I've been told I look like - Cate Blanchett, Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Delphy, Joely Richardson, the blond secretary on the West Wing) I've had the my hair the same forever and I am wondering what would look good on me. If you know any famous people with that style/cut that would be great too.

Short and cropped. I have the same face and I get more stares and compliments from both sexes. I have cool hair that is so easy to fix since its thin it really puts body in it.

a top knot. that way i can grab on to something as i slap you across the face.

A traditional chin length bob would be great for you.

cut your hear so that it is in the middle of your ear and your sholders

I don't think it matters what kind of haircut you have.............the top of your head looks the same when you're bobbing for my man gravy!

How often do I need to have my Shih Tzu groomed to keep a "puppy cut" style?

We recently purchased a Shih Tzu puppy. He is about 11 weeks old. How often will I need to get him groomed to keep his hair in a "puppy cut" style?
I have considered grooming him myself, but I don't know how to go about doing it. Do you use clippers or scissors? How do you trim around the eyes and face? Thanks for the help!

we don't take him to a professional groomer, we cut it ourselves.
so for our shih tzu, we do it about mm...once a month. (only because it gets hot here, we do live in texas after all.)

and congrats on the dog!

*edit*
we use regular scissors.
the face is tricky, but you're just going to need a good hand and someone else to hold the dog still.
we don't trim the face unless it really needs to be.
like if hair is covering the eyes, then we have someone hold the head back, we pull the hair covering his eyes and cut part of it off (only to the point where he can see). the "mustache" is pretty easy...and the ears are too if you're careful enough. it's mostly the hair around the eyes though, just make it to where it sticks out and cut it off, but make sure it doesn't get in the dog's eye.

i have a shih tzu just over a year old
i take her every 7 weeks no earlier than 6 weeks
and i bathe her once every four weeks as well as comb her at least once a week to keep up with the matts

A puppy cut is usually done every 6 -8 weeks. Usually clippers are used on the body and blunt tipped scissors are used around the eyes.

Personally, I like a professional groomer for short cuts or for a long hair Shih-Tzu. The groomer also cleans anal gland, cuts toenails, pulls hair out of ears, etc. I would not dare try to trim hair around eyes myself or cut toenails. I am not "rich" but have always used a groomer. But since I do not like leaving them for 4-5 hours at a shop (in a cage) I currently I pay $10 (for two dogs)over the in-shop price for a mobile groomer to bathe and pretty up my two long-haired ShihTzus every 3 months. I brush them every couple of days.
every few days.

First, wait a few weeks before you take your puppy to the groomer, he is too young now. The first visit to the groomer must be a short and pleasant one. Just a light clip, and a lot of play. Choose your groomer carefully, they are not all the same. After that, always go to the same groomer that your dog knows what to expect, and that you know what to expect.
It's very important that your shih-tzu does not fear or hate the groomer because after that and for about 2 years, he will have to visit the place every 5 weeks to keep a clean puppy clip. After 2 years, the hair grows a Little slower and every 6 to 7 weeks will do.
I had a lot of problems finding the right groomer for my shih-tzu, she still fears getting to the groomer's after some bad first experience. Please avoid grooming salons at the chain stores where the groomers change all the time.

At home, remember to brush your dog every other day to avoid matting, and for the bath (every 2 weeks, use a good no-soap natural shampoo). Ask your groomer to use the same type and not a whitening shampoo. They make the beautiful colours of shih-tzu fade.

How to I cut/style my thick, curly red hair?

So I have increadibly thick curly natural red hair. It's pretty long, it lays about 5 inches below my shoulder. I'm going to be cutting off 10 inches for charity in a few weeks and I need to know what style I should go with. It'll be pretty short (mid-upper neck) and I know that if you don't cut it just right the curly hair will turn into a fro. I used to have short hair, but it was different then my hair wasn't curly. I don't mind straightening it every day, I'm looking for a funky new style.
Also, it's naturally red so I want to do something different with my new cut. Would darklights be okay? I mean like a chestnut/brown color? Please if you have any suggestions or experience with either the texture or color I'd love to hear what you think.

When I was 4 my hair turned curly and was really short but on my last birthday I got it permanently straitened at a salon and it really helped. I also got a flat iron to straighten my hair at home and it really works. When u get your hair cut you should try straightening it. Don't color it either red hair is cool.

go with a Debbie Donalds look- face frame-choppy layers-no darklights!!! Straightened!

How do female doctors usually cut/style their hair? I want to look professional, but still feminine.?

I'm pre-med, and I'm about to hit my interviews for med school. Looking professional is very important to me, and I wondered if any of you in the medical profession had any advice as to what to do with my hair? (It may sound stupid, but I'm worried about it.) I've worn it long throughout college, and I'm wondering whether I need to cut it. I have a thin, petite look anyway, and I want my colleagues and patients to take me seriously.

My hair is fine, about medium thickness, and it's stuck between wavy and straight. And it's frizzy a lot, even when I style it.

I say grow it long, and when you are at work, keep it up in a bun. That looks so professional!! Then you still have hair to play with when you go out with your girlfriends.

This way you have two different characters. Your professional looking, respectable doctor look. Then your fun girly look.

Good luck in Med School!!

I think the 'Sinead O' Connor' look is cool!

Most female doctors Ive seen have worn their hair short. But Ive also seen many who had long hair but kept it pulled back in a ponytail. It really just depends on your preference.

Shoulder length is nice but you can pull your hair back and you'll still look professional. Or get the "mom" cut which doesn't look good on everyone.

If you have it very frizzy it might give a sense of disorganised life, personality, Pls get a cut which would go natural with your hair, remove the frizz but do not give it a silky straight look. Wear your hair upto your shoulder, ready to be held back in a pony tail. This will give a look of change and an ability to adapt to demand of busy med life.
I am a designer who usually help design clothes and jewellery for Hi-fi women!
Good luck...nothing like meeting another woman power on the way of real power.

However you decide to style it you should wear it CONFIDENTLY.

Thats the most professional.

I have a lady doctor who has very long thick hair worn up in some kind of elaborate twist/bun.

I am a man, so I don't know too much about women's hairstyles.

I work in a hospital and I've seen female doctors with long hair almost alway put it up. I think that could get boring. Shoulder length hair is more versatile. You can put it up or leave it down and it will look professional. Keep the style simple, though.

Im no med sutdent but I would suggest doing what ever is easy for you to deal with for you in that profession if you want to talk more instant message me at vdiddy58 about the matter

Not too short but with lots of soft layers. http://www.hairfinder.com/hair_imaging.htm should give you lots of ideas.

How do I go to a salon and get the right professional, cut, and style/?

I've only cut my hair twice in my life, both times the layers were a disasterous! I went from long, beautiful flowing hair @ the nape of my back to bra strap length rubbish cut. You can't even tell where any of my layers begin, end... NOTHING. I'm growing it out to take my head somewhere else. But next time I want to go someplace credible. How do I get the right cut/style for myself and lifestyle? How do I look for a good quality salon in a new city? How do I know that stylist has credibility and professional style?

I really appreciate any and all help.

Blessings,
CutieMatuaMommy

It is hard being in a new city to get this kind of information. If you are employed, ask co-workers for recommendations. If you go to church and see someone with a great cut ask them. if you are in school ask other students. Women are flattered if you complement their hair and should be happy to help you out. You can really only get the information you want from the experiences of others. good luck

if you read magazines and they say a certain salon is good then it probably is good also go to a well know salon like toni and guy or vidal sasson good luck

For the last two years I have had my hair done at JC Penney Salon, I know that doesn't sound too exclusive but I found a woman there who has cut and styled my hair just the way I want it from day one. She really is good and I'm sure you could find one at a Penney's near you.
If push comes to shove, you could drop by a few salons and check out their work. Good luck and God bless

A good place to begin is by checking out magazines dedicated to hair styles, i.e., 101 Celebrity Hairstyles or Hype Hair. Or even Allure. Start looking at which hairstyles or types of hair that you think you would like on yourself and that would be easy for you to maintain on your own.

Next, determine the shape of your face (this is very important -- not all hairstyles look good on every shape of face). Is it oval (universal -- any hair style can work on an oval face), heart, oblong, round, square-ish?

Once you have somewhat of an idea, the next is the hard part: finding a salon. As suggested above, ask around your new town in places like friends, work, church, or the nail salon. If this doesn't work, the magazines list salons all over the United States and in UK -- but beware, these can be pricy! Another source is, of course, the internet. Most salons do *not* have websites, but those that do are generally well-received and may have branches or are part of a union or something similar to one. You can also check around town and head inside a salon for something cheap like a conditioning treatment or a simple blow out to see how they work and what sorts of styles and cuts that're being done for the other clients there. A lot of stylists like to talk while they're doing your hair, so you can ask for some advice or at least tell him/her your problem and they can recommend treatments or styles or even stylists that can work with what you have.

Hopefully, this will help in some way. Good luck!

How come all ASIAN women have the same hair cut style?

NO INTENDED OFFENSIVE!
But i never seen an asian women with an original hair style.
Why do they all have the same hair cutstyle.
Is it because is a cheap hair cut style and it dont cost much?

Its because you are a racist.

not all the same. are you blind?

How come all white, yuppie males have the same hair cut?

I've never seen anyone with my hair. I have an unevenly cut bob (longer in the front) with a green fringe and green streaks.

they all have the same type of black hair and they can't do much with it.?

Sterotyping mate.

I'm asian and I cant say that I know many people who have the same hair cut as me. Everyone has different taste.

Maybe in their own country the cut that they have is "in" so that they were it. There are so many different reasons as to why people have the same things.

Look around and you'll see many people with the same haircut - at the moment it's a bob thats in, so when you walk down the road your bound to see more than one person having sporting a bob.

We might like to save money but doesnt mean we're like everyone else.

Stop the hate; you know damn well you wanna date one of them.

Its a cultural thing not to expend over a certain amount on a hair cut. remember that asian traditions are pure...lol

I have an oval face, my hair is straight with fine texture and thin volume. Pls suggest a best hair cut style.

I wear glasses. My complexion is wheatish and my hair is dark brown in colour. Kindly suggest a hair cut style that suits me best. Thank you.

I suggest a cut like this one...

An oval shaped face is the ideal shape, most hair styles will look good with it. However, your hair is fine and thin, so I would go with a shorter cut, probably at your chin or above, any longer and it will look shaggy and scragly.

Oval tends to look good with most any hair style, i suggest one that allows people to see your face , rather then cover it up.

http://www.short-hairstyles.com/

yahoo search eninge: short hair styles, many other websites to view and see.

With shorter hair, less water consumption and less shampoo/hair conditioner needed, and less hair dryer time.
Saves the Earth the extra wear and tear down.

Maybe get some freebies from www.sunsilk.com website.

Why do some hairdressers not want to style cut my hair?

I currently have shoulder length hair. When I go to the hairdressers I find that they try to talk me out of a style cut and talk me into long layers and a trim to tidy my hair up. I'm happy for a really good haircut and the money is not an issue... why don't they want to cut it or suggest styles that could suit my hair type?

You are getting whats called a box stylist, someone who has gotten into a grove and just wants to trim and do layers Boring! Go to a spa and get your hair done. Tell them that you want something different. Do some research, if you see someone's hair that you like ask where they got it done. I am a stylist and I have seen that happen lots of times. Stylists get lazy and all of their clients end up with the same hair cut! Take in a picture of what you want, don;t let them talk you out of it. :)

What is the newest type of hair cut and style?

I want a new hair cut or style but I cannot choose what. My hair is at my shoulders now.

Get a bob like RIHANNA.

Planning to get my hair cut scene style - what should I ask my hairdresser for?

I have medium-long length hair and want to get it cut scene style - long underneath but short layers on top with a big side fringe. How should I explain this to my hairdresser? Also, does anyone have any good photos to illustate this? Thanks!

Short Cut Saturday – Who do you style your hair for?

I was reading an excerpt of an interview with the gorgeous Michelle Williams in UK Elle and she said that her daughter would like her to grow her hair but she said

“I’ve really grown into it – I feel like myself with short hair. And it’s been a really long time since I had long hair, five years.”

Michelle also says

“Of course, the only people who like it are gay men and my girlfriends. Straight men across the board are not into this hair.”

The quote that got me thinking is

“I cut it for the one straight man who has ever liked short hair and I wear it in memorial of somebody who really loved it.”

It made me question, who do I style my hair for?

Growing up my dad loved long hair so I think I was influenced by him, but as I got older I “rebelled” and went crazy with my hair. I loved playing with my hair and did whatever I wanted. I’ve had so many styles and I love short hair.

It’s my experience that most straight men love long hair too. I met my husband when I had short pink & white hair and I think he prefers me with shorter hair, but I’m happy keeping my hair long (for now!). Mr Romance does have a strong dislike for heavy fringes but I love them.

Did you grow up thinking long hair was the only way? Do you style your hair for yourself or do you worry about what other people think?

Who do you style your hair for?
