Rack Room Shoes and T. J. Maxx moving in Memphis Commercial Appeal
T. J. Maxx, a store that sells clothes and accessories, will soon be doing business in Olive Branch along with a Rack Room Shoes and other, unidentified businesses.
Site work has begun at Wedgewood Commons, more commonly known as the shopping center anchored by Target at Goodman and Pleasant Hill roads.
Rack Room Shoes and T. J. Maxx store will be to the west of Target. Plans call for a spring opening. Other stores, as yet unnamed by officials, are expected to soon join the retail mix at the bustling intersection.
The popular national yogurt brand, T.C.B.Y., is expected to open next month in the strip shopping area in the same center closer to Goodman Road. The franchise is owned by Ron and Michelle Rye, who also own a SteviBs Pizza in Bartlett.
A franchise run by other owners left Olive Branch a few years ago. It was in the Camp Creek area where Baskin-Robbins has a store now.
Target opened its doors to shoppers at Wedgewood Commons in July 2008. Developers had expected to see growth take off, but the recession hit. More business came to the commercial development, but the pace was not as expected.

Day Spa and Salon Business for Oklahoma?
Can someone tell me a website to go to or what all forms are required to open a small business of a day spa and salon in the State of Oklahoma?
Here is where you go to register your business. http://www.sos.state.ok.us/business/business_filing.htm
I would however suggest that you also talk to a business counselor before you do anything especially spend money. I'd call the local Oklahoma office of SCORE (go to http://www.score.org and input your zip code to find the chapter nearest you), the advice is FREE.
The counselor at SCORE will most likely advise you to write a business plan which is very good advice because it will force you to dig out all of the start up details and the costs of starting a day spa and force you to also understand all of the aspects of this business including the customers you'll concentrate on (your market ) and how you'll go after them.

How much do you think it would cost me to open a day spa?
I'm a senior in high school & I plan on going to cosmetology school next year. I'm considering by the time I'm about 30 or so I would like to open my own day spa business! But, I have no clue how much it would cost me....I want to open one in Nashville, TN! How much do you think it would cost me?
It won't cost you that much to open the day spa. You need $30,000 in the bank. the key to success is getting thru the bad times and only money can make that possible. I think you can open for less than $12,000. Shop bankruptcy auctions for the desks and chairs and tables for your shop. Go to all "going out of business" sales. You can do this.
day spa business start up?
great idea
do you have anything specific in mind?
What type of business is a Day Spa?
Does anyone know what type of business it is?
Is the spa business a good and profitable business to get into?
I want to start my own business someday... but I'm not sure if owning a day spa is the way to go.
Yeah that sounds great! u will make lots of money and customers and tips and people just LOVE spa especially girls and usually were in groups so yeah but it technically up to u but that's sound good to start so give it a try and you can get more successful little by little!
But today, it is profitable since lots of busy people find time and place to relax. I also go to spa. :)
Hi, a Day Spa in my city went out of business-- like they went bankrupt I think?
I have 2 gift cards for them but now I can not use them!
What do I need to do??? What can I do about this?
If they filed bankruptcy then the company is out of business, and you are pretty much out of luck.
If those locations are just closed, but there are still locations opened you should be able to use it at those, or contact the corporate headquarters and see if you can get your money back.
How do I start up a spa fish pedicure business and where can I buy the fish ?
I presently have a day spa and would like to implement the spa fish pedicure using garra rufa or chin chin fish. Does anyone have any concrete information on how to go about it and where I can obtain the fish? It all sounds so intriguing and I think it would be a great treatment that would help boost sales even during the economy woes! It looks not only fun but therapudic.

I think the metrosexual male is into a good facial, pedicure, and a body massage. It is extremely inviting to involve a beginning special package of this sort.
Women love the usual, facial and body massages, pedicures, manicures, waxing... try to put in the bikini waxing as well, as more and more women are exploring into this region.
GoodLuck. :)
Am I obligated to honor gift certificates sold by previous owner after the business sale transaction?
I purchased a day spa business a month ago. The previous owner gave me $4500 credit towards gift certificate redeem, as she claimed there weren't that much out there. However, just one month after the close of escrow, there were already more than $3000 worth of gift certifcate redeemed came forward. My concern is, the business will be hurt if I don't honor past gift certificate; however I can not afford keep doing this, especially without knowing how much are really out there because the previous owner did not have any record to trace. I couldn't even tell the authenticity of those gift certificates as a lot of them don't have date of issue, or number, or even value. I am stuck here, please help.
I don't envy your position.
The previous owner should have given you an example of a valid gift certificate so you could at least try to authenticate those being redeemed. Since the establishment is under new owndership you could post a sign stating a new policy regarding GC redemption. It could read something like:
"As of February 1, 2006 (or any date of your choosing) we will no longer be able to accept gift certificates that were purchased prior to December 1, 2005 (or whatever date you took over.) We apologize for any invonvenience this may cause." You might also want to mention the new ownership of the establishment.
Hopefully since you took over you have revamped the way your GC look so you can distinguish the old from new. You might also want to take into consideration that people may have just received the GC for Christmas and that would explain the huge redemption rate in the last few weeks.
It's one of those 'darned if you do and darned if you don't' situations. Just make sure that if you decide to cut off the old GC, you visibly post it in your shop for all to see for at least one month.
