I was burned by a bikini wax at a day spa - should I sue?
I was pretty badly burned by a bikini wax a few days ago, at a day spa, and now have awful red splotches along my bikini line! I have been happy with the business in the past, this is the first problem I have had, but it is a big one. Should I approach them first and ask for my money back, or should I go to a doctor to verify the burns, and sue for damages? On the one hand, I don't want to cause a problem for a small business just for the sake of making money. But on the other hand, it is pretty miserable - I've worn pajama bottoms all weekend! - and I certainly think they should know so this doesn't happen to another client. I'm not sure what the ethical thing to do is; please help!
I think you should ask for your money back because you did not receive your desired results.
It's true that you got that wax done, but you had the wax done because you wanted to show off your skin. However, with the burnt marks on your bikini line, you're unable to do so. Also, since you've been happy with the business for a while now, I doubt that you'd want to sue, so the best option for you is to just get your money back or receive a free bikini wax the next time you come by there.

However, if they botched the job, they should certainly refund your money. If the burns look serious, you should see a doctor and ask them to pick up the bill. If the burns will go away in a little while, then just end it there.
If they are a reputable place, they'll fix the problem, and should offer you some compensation for your troubles, maybe a free couple of days at the spa for any services you want.
If more serious damage is done, maybe it's time to contact a personal injury lawyer to arrange for damages.
I think the best course of action would be to go to the business and give them the opportunity to make things right with you. If you've been happy with them before, it may have been a fluke. And you should definitely go see a doctor if you feel your health is at risk or call the doctor to see if there is a topical cream you can use to relieve the pain.
As for suing, it doesn't sound like there was negligence or malicious intent. Mistakes happen and the ethical thing would be just to bring it to the business's attention...not bring the business to it's knees!
Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!
How do I find a day spa willing to wax any part of the male body (looking for more than a Brazilian wax)?
You're looking for whats known as a "back, sac and crack" try google for lists of salons that perform this service
I went to get my eyebrow's arched- I went to a day spa and the girl there dropped wax on my eye lid.?
I have 2nd degee burns. The business is a recognized business by the better business burera- but the are not cooperating with me. The won't give me the owners name or number and the manager claims he does not know who it is-- What to do. This business is a small chain!
If they won't cooperate, either leave them alone or contact a lawyer. And never in your life go to that place again!
Any treatments at a day spa that may reduce pimples from breaking out after waxing?
Are there any beneficial treatments at a day spa that may help reduce pimples from breaking out after waxing e.g. exfoliations, mud (i dunno i'm a retard)?
I have the same problem, and use a prescription creme on them, and they're still not all gone.
I know acne is really annoying, especially if if comes out severe.

Any tips on how to have a great spa day at home with friends?
Me and my best friend want to have a spa day and beautify ourselves at home. Any tips on how to have a good time, what to do and which waxing products do use on our legs??? and any after shaving moisturizers you would reccomend? I want a product which isn't very expensive or too cheap and so it works. Girlfriends share your secrets how you beautify yourself on your spadays. :)
If you are in an area where there is a Marykay consultant, I know sometimes for a small fee they will come in and do makeovers and stuff like that. As far as waxing products i like that Nair roll on stuff, it works pretty good and it's not very messy either!
Have some great food and wine...
Get some good facials, I love The Body Shop for inexpensive, but great facials, soak your feet in bath salts. As far as waxing legs, I don't do it, I use Nads and I think they are pretty good (and inexpensive)... Have a great time!!!

Ladies, do you know a good day Spa that does full body waxes?
There is a spa on the corner of Fountainview and Richmond. I am sorry I don't have the exact name but everytime I pass by I see the parking lot full and or near full.
I'm going for a Spa day soon and I'm wondering what these treatments will entail ?
I am having an aromatherepy back massage and a hand wax. What will I be expected to wear for these. And what do they do ?
Many Thanks
For the massage, you'll just have a towel on but you never expose anything private due to the way they turn you round. You'll have a choice of oils that they will use on you.
For the hand wax i'm guessing it's probably parafin wax where they dip your hand in it, allow to dry then you'll probably get a hand massage afterwards. It doesn't matter what you wear for this as it's just your hands that receive the treatment.
Hope this helps :)
Is it ok Microdermabrasion and facial waxing on the same day?
I am planning a spa day and I need to know if I can I get Microdermabrasion plus mini facial and get my face waxed on the same day?
I would wait at least 24 hours between the 2 procedures, because both can irritate your skin. You could end up with a really red, raw, blotchy face if you do both on the same day. Give your skin time to heal between proedures definitely.
Is external vaginal itching normal after a Wax?
I just had a Brazialian bikini wax done 4 days ago for the second time ever in my life. The first time I got it done this didn't happen but now it is. I had a mild itch a day after the waxing and it's gotten worse. On a scale of pain between 1 and 10, it's about a 5 now. Is this normal? Any recommendations? Should I call the spa?
I think it is normal. Maybe the wax they used or the stuff they put on right after is different then the first time. Also, it is normal for it to itch since the hair starts growing back right away. I would say you're fine as long as you don't have any bumps or rashes. If you get a rash I would suggest going to the doctor. Also, Noxema has a soothing gel for after waxing/shaving that helps with itch and irritation, you can find it at the drugstore by women's razors etc. I use it myself and it helps, there is another brand too, I think its called bikini zone or something. Just keep the area clean and dry and don't use any soap directly on it or lotions.
