“Usually I never really think about treating myself, and when you are going through cancer treatment, you really do have to think about yourself first,” says patient Hilda Vasquez.Women go to the James Corbett Studio for a free four-hour day at the spa. It's part of Corbett's not-for-profit organization Hair 2 Help. The women are from Hope Lodge, the American Cancer Society's free temporary housing program.
“Take them out of their element, give them a respite, a sanctuary, a day retreat,” says Corbett.
Corbett lost his father and stepfather to cancer and says his mother was diagnosed with pre-leukemia a couple of years ago. He says it's important to help patients like Hilda Vasquez take their mind off the disease.
“For those few minutes I was in there, it was a sense of release. Everything that fell on my shoulders for the past month and a half was released,” says Vasquez.
“Right now, the way that we deal with cancer is by really aggressive and breaking down and it takes weeks months to see the results, so we are able to give them immediate results through acupuncture, reflexology, or body treatment,” says Corbett.

I live in Orlando and I LOVE the Ritz Carlton Grand Lakes, Shingle Creek Resort, Grand Floridian (at Disney) and the Portifino Bay Hotel (at Universal) for spa/hotel combos. You REALLY can't go wrong with any of them.

there aren't eating disorder programs with spas. Some are more residential style, but I think what you might be wanting is a destination spa. They often have 30 day programs, and they will probably give you nutritional advice but they are NOT eating disorder specialists.
Please find a therapist in your area who deals with eating disorders and have them refer you to a place. They're going to be able to help you meet your needs better than anyone on here will
Spa treatments for my spa day?
For christmas my fiance got me a giftcard to the spa. I'm going to have a spa day, but I don't really know what treatments to get. They have massages, facials, body wraps, waxings, nails. Does anyone have any advice on what treatments I should get? What is your favorite spa treatment? What order should i get the treatments like should i get a body wrap before a masage?
A Facial is my favourite and great for your skin.
And get a wrap too as these are sublime.
Make sure you choose something you want to do though.
Waxings get done before relaxing stuff or it will reverse all the relaxation.
You want to finish being relaxed.
Otherwise wraps, facials, can be done either way around. But I would put massages before the wraps.
