Imagination runs wild in toy making Abilene Reporter-News
SWEETWATER — Low-tech or high, none of it matters unless it's fun. Modern children have a dizzying array of entertainment options that start with the Xbox 360 and head upward from there.
Ashel and Jaxon Pyburn, 13 and 12, march to a different beat. While it's true they have their share of modern toys and computer games, nothing satisfies quite like pen, paper, scissors and a bit of imagination.
The boys craft their own toys, alternating between two-dimensional cutout figures and three-dimensional models.
They began making them in 2004 when their father Weston brought home a box filled with 300 pounds of poster-sized paper.
"Somebody had given it to us from a garage sale or something. I put it on a dolly and carried them down here and he (Ashel) burned through that years ago," Weston said.
When he gets an idea for a character, Ashel cuts the figure from a sheet of paper and draws in the details and coloring. The cutouts vary in size from three to seven inches, populating a vast spectrum of characters from comics, movies and the boys' own imaginings.

Multi dimensional hair--at home hair coloring?
I want to add 4 different colors to my hair. They are all in the same family, and just different shades.
What is the best most effecient way to do this?
I bought 4 box kits, 3 are bottle, the other has a wire wand. I bought 3 more wands for the other colors...any advice?
I do that to my hair too!First I cut strips of foil the length of my hair and about 4 inches wide then I start by parting my hair in the middle of my head then starting at the crown I gather stands of hair is a straight line going towards my face leaving enough space between clumps of hair for the other three colors place the foil under the hair I am going to apply the lightest color to the width being about two inches so the foil can be folded over the hair. Then apply the color "an old tooth brush works great" then fold the foil over the hair then start at the bottom on the foil and fold it until it reaches your scalp, then gather hair for the next color and repeat. Do this until all the hair you want colored is done" I do half my hair then start the other side at the part opposite where I started first.. There's no worry's about how long it takes just be sure to wait 25 minutes after the last bit of hair is folded in the foil. Most hair colors stop working after 25 minutes! After the 25 minutes are up I put a small amount of warm water on my hair and work up a lather and and then I take about 3 tablespoons of the second color and apply it in the lather and work it in good" this kinda blends and buffers so the contrast isn't so sharp! I let that sit for about 6 to 8 minutes then rinse and condition my hair.
Multi dimensional hair color?
I'm getting my hair done next thursday, and my mom called and booked the appointment *because I'm visiting my dad right now* and she booked a cut and multi dimensional color.
This is the color I want:

Including the pink streaks, would this still be considered multi dimensional color, or will I end up paying extra for them?
You should not but the only one to ask is the stylist because they all set their own prices. So in your consultation discuss this and then you can make your decision what all you will be getting for the price set.
What will be the future of two-dimensional animation or 2D, in the animated film and video game arcade?
The 2D animation in recent times has achieved remarkable progress to merge with 3D animation. The computer has facilitated significant progress when it seemed to have reached an impasse. The spectacular achieved in films like Titan AE, Castle Ambulante, Treasure Planet, The Road toElDorado, Sinbad, or Spirit, to mention some of them, a few years ago was unthinkable.
Some think that, somehow, traditional animation has already begun to die, because although drawings continue 2D drawings, with the support 3D technology is becoming larger. But surely continue for long.
Although since July 2003, have not developed new films 2D animation in the U.S. after Spirit, Treasure Planet, Titan A. E., While in Asia, and especially the Japanese animation, things are very different. The computer is completing entering, while in the West already had in the 1980's movies that use the computer, like Basil mouse super detective Disney of 86, where his final scene, while Big Ben, the elements mechanics are 3D computer. In Asia, only after completing the second half of 1990, begins to make its appearance and timidly, Princess Mononoke, Hayao Miyazaqui and Los Ghibli animation studios, has only 15 minutes where the computer makes its appearance. Currently, has undergone a major expansion, but adapted to the rigid production processes in place of cel shading, but not 3D, as in Spirited Away My neighbors or those Yamada, fully digital, despite being 2D.
In other cases, the computer takes over the mechanical elements, funds and colored, blending with traditional 2D characters, as in the series which follow the established aesthetic in Blue Submarine No. 6, whose nearest example could be reached Spain Sol Bianca . Even the 3D, pure and simple, this introduced by Japan.
Does the evolution of the traditional 2d animation, which now develop hybrid 2D/3D movies, will lead to 3D digital animation films that succeed in giving a 3D animation finished 2D, as the upcoming "Rapunzel" and "Up!" Disney to develop, and this with Pixar, and that seem animated watercolors?
In Dreamworks on the contrary everything you make from 2009 will be in 3D, supported by technical and stereoscopic not be new animated films such as hybrid Spirit, Sinbad or anything like that (if indeed someone was waiting for him), due to closure 2D its division by the failure of the animated film Sinbad.
The explosion of novelty, the 3D potential and has come to stay. There will be a fad, but over time, the 2D return covered at the end of the boom and nostalgia at the time.
Or rather, as stated the web Dreamers, over time, the waters again on track, and different types of animation including coexist and complement, and animation will open up new avenues.
In video game arcades like something is happening,
Games like "Rumble Fish" and "Bttle Fantasy", were designed by the same people who revolutionized sprites, with the drawn Hi - Re, Apartado 1998 with the arcade "Guilty Gear", with works like "Fist of Northern Star" . Sammy and Dimps have worked some more arcades, with drawn sprites, before concentrating its work on the estates and drawn with Cell Shading. Even knew that sooner or later sprites or 2D bitmaps, as elements of drawing, would be dead.
Capcom has become Street Fighter game in a hybrid between 2D and 3D gaming, in its fourth issue, with polygonal graphics and cell shading, because according to them "sprites in high definition involve an impossible job." Street Fighter IV has impacted, but still fall far short of what we achieved today sprites or 2D bitmaps…
It has developed long ago, polygonal graphics of single plane or scroll motion, and we have seen interesting things like: Viewtiful Joe, Okami, Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer, Ultimate Ghosts' N Goblins, Naruto Ultimate Ninja 2, Bionic Commando rearmament , Raiden III, or Battle Fantasia, that inspired designers Street Fighter IV
While it is true, do not achieve quality graphics, which now gets a good design or bitmaps 2D sprites, because it takes a few polygons and textures worked to achieve very beautiful graphics, which often is not achieved, getting only photo realism. Cell-shading, not today equates to a drawing plane, because however much they place the camera in a single plane side, is complicated polygonal disguise the origin of the characters, or objects that make up the different scenarios of arcades, On the other pate , A game in fact you do not need the 3d animation Fluid in the arcades that get drawn sprites with Al 2D or 3D bitmaps still lacks naturalness. Although it is expected to be improved technically and ending finished giving a more artistic.
Some sites, such as forums and EOL Gamercafe, speculate on the possibility that, when Cell Shading improved significantly more in the future, for polygonal graphics in real time, who knows if you can emulate a chart or 2D sprites bitmaps, or even get to overcome if it is worth.
What do Vdes. on this whole issue of traditional animated films and video games of sprites or 2D bitmaps? I suppose that both will go hand in hand, aunuqe do not know if the game industry is moving behind the animated film being an industry where less and less invested in their development and innovation.
Wow, that was a long description. I'm afraid that I won't be able to post as such compared to yours and yet here I am, typing. I think that you have already answered your own question, maybe you want someone to clarify or uphold your belief? Well, here I am. I don't know what to say yet, but let me be spontaneous.
I had [have rather...as I still play most of them] some games with 2d like Melty Blood, Arcana Heart, Metal Slug, Street Fighter, Sonic and like what you have mentioned, Rumble Fish [which has nothing to do with fishes at all!]. For their graphics and appearance likewise, I'd look at it but only secondly to its plot or storyline. The plot is more important, and the playability! Let's say Metal Slug for example, despite its 2d-ness, people liked it for its game style and infinite ammo. It will be a classic, an epic. Times are moving fast, I'm not a fortune teller so I would not be able to tell whether the people in our society will forget about these things. Maybe yes, maybe no. I for one will not, I bet on it.
So yes, it's past millennium, it's 2008, and some people are greedy or are in need of money. I guess that is the reason why companies try to get in with the modern world and follow its pleas of new things and much more "pleasant" outcomes. Despite of how much people liked their 2d, they would still have to earn money and continue forth. Try asking some eleven year olds or somehow any much younger ones, they probably wouldn't know what or who Sonic is! [for an example only].
Either way, 2d may never be forgotten. It may have a comeback or clash in combination with 3d [like what you said] but it could also perish...and we may never see it again, but I doubt it.
We'll see it again. I'm hopeful of seeing much of it again in the future. ;D
How much money does it cost to color your hair at Ulta Salon?
I was wondering how much it costs to get your hair highlighted and have it textured. Or how much does it also cost to have that stuff put on that takes away the brassiness. How much does it cost to have your hair colored. How much for partial highlights, full highlights, dimensional highlights, ad full color and partial color? Also, what does dimensional highlights do?

Iron-on transfer paper on canvas: what will be the image quality?
I know that I can physically use the iron on transfer paper on the canvas, I'm just worried about how the picture will look, espcially since it's not a two-dimensional solid-color design, but an image of two people...anyone know from experience?
I do alot of heat press transfers but you never know on canvas. Buy a small piece of canvas and experiment.

My room is pink and orange (picture included!) What should my accent color be?
I feel like it's too two-dimensional. What would make a great accent color?
http://s127.photobucket.com/albums/p152/sophiax18/?action=view¤t=MyRoom002.jpg
So basically, so far colors that have been suggested:
White (I already have it)
Lime Green
Bright Red
Yellow
Blue
I'm leaning towards lime green or yellow; they seem to keep the room looking fresh. Any more suggestions?
I'm with RhodaK on the Red. I love pink orange and BRIGHT red together. Check out this picture of gerbera daisies, it combines the three colors together: http://www.kgcphoto.com/Studio_Flowers/Three-Gerbera-Daisies-4x5-D.jpg .
Plus red accents always really pop, so it's guaranteed to add that extra dimension.
iunno about you but i would say lime green :]
thats just me though xD
or maybe whitee. but thats so blah .
How to give black hair dimension?
I have long black hair. What colors will give it dimension? I feel kind of boring with solid black. The cut I have suits me: long length kept, several layers, deep side swept bangs. Any color suggestions? I just want to make my black hair look dimensional, I don't want to change the color itself. Thank you!
What is the name of the 90's fantasy board game that featured miniatures with interchangeable weapons?
This board game had a 3-dimensional dungeon/castle in which the pieces could navigate through complete with hidden passages. The interchangeable weapons where made in different color plastics and would easily slip in and out of the miniatures hands.
The first game that came to mind was HeroQuest, a game my brothers and I played the heck out of. The interchangeable weapons really threw me off, however, since all of the miniatures in HeroQuest were fixed design. I did find that there was a "Master Edition" of HeroQuest which did include miniatures with interchangeable weapons.

Is there pain in the kitchen?
Are sharp objects only painful when they touch you, or are they just as much painful as pointy, colored, or three-dimensional?
Nor is there "love in the air" apparently.
The question is about sensation. If we attribute certain qualities to objects -- like shape and location, that are independant of our sensing them, and not others... why?
A knife can produce pain if it touches you in the right way, but it can also look red if you see it in the right light. And yet knives are in the kitchen, red is in the kitchen, but pain is not.
CH: you have to process sense-data in the same way to perceive shape or color-- under the right conditions, tickling your nerves.
SF: that's why it's difficult to admit, but you still wouldn't say "there's pain in the torture chamber."
I really don't understand this question. If you are asking if kitchen knives etc., have feelings...um i'd say no. LOL
