Don't Let Foot Problems Spoil Your Vacation: Tips from Xenna PRunderground

Buck says, “Your feet become your best friend on a trip because you usually do a lot more walking and other physical activity. While new, fashionable flip-flops may be at the top of the list for many when shopping for vacation footwear, it’s important to keep in mind how your feet may feel in them at the end of a long, busy day.

Don’t take a new pair of ANY shoes or sandals with you unless you have walked in them for at least a day to make sure they don’t rub uncomfortably or are too loose.”

Podiatrists recommend wearing supportive shoes on trips, and doing foot stretching exercises in the morning before starting a long day of walking.

2. Try not to go barefoot through airport security. While requirements call for removing shoes when proceeding through security checkpoints, always remember to wear socks.

3. Select supportive footwear. A comfortable, supportive athletic shoe allows feet to breathe, receive enough cushioning and prevent bruises or stubbed toes.

Exfoliation

A video on the basics, and not so basics, of exfoliation and a review of Shiseido's Exfoliating Discs. Exfoliating is a must must must and it ...

Exfoliation?

I have my prom on friday and im having a spray tan, she advised me to exfoliate my skin to get rid of rough skin and dead skin cells, do you know any good products like scrubs that are really good for this & where to get them from? (I live in the uk so anything from there) And anyother tips for exfoliation, please help, thanks!

try googling!! it always works.. give de ingredients u'd prefer to c in it as well!!

I use simple exfoliating soap bar. I got it in boots. But you can just look in superdrugs and boots and see what you like.

Go to the supermarket and get a scrub. They will be in the skin care aisle. My absolute favorite is a vanilla scrub from target. Make sure you use the scrub with a loofa.

I get spray tans all the time and love it!

What are some products i can use for exfoliation?

There is so much stress on exfoliation of the face. What are some products i can use for that purpose? Also,What are some products i can use for body exfoliation?Lastly,Is there any method or "recipe" for something i can mix up out of ingredients that i have around the house, for the purpose of exfoliation? Not only facial, but facial and body both?Thank you for your answers!

OK, second/third questions first. For body exfoliation, I use three things; salt and olive oil in a paste, rubbed over my body (shower after), a loofah (use while showering) and an exfoliating mitt. The mitt is cotton, nubby like a towel, and it's meant to be used AFTER you get out of the shower/tub.

As for your face. You should never use an abrasive on your face, because it a) causes micro-tears that invite bacterial invasion and inflammation, and b) it pulls the skin so it sags faster. The best thing to use to exfoliate your face is your own clean fingertips. Wash your face for 15-60 seconds a day using a gentle, up and in stroking motion, the lightest possible touch, with extremely clean fingers. This will perfectly remove exactly as much dead skin as your face DOESN'T need, without harming, stretching, or over-exfoliating it. Good luck! BTW there's a link to the full cleansing regime below.

Believe or not, sugar is an excellent exfoliation.

After about 10 minutes in the shower, take small amounts cupped in your hand, and gentle swirl all around your face(but be VERY gentle around the eyes(sides as well).

It is also extremely inexpensive as egg whites are #1 for hair conditioner

Good Luck!

Sea salt and olive oil mixed together (about a 1 to 1 ratio) is supposed to work really well on feet and elbows and knees. The philosophy line is really good for skincare though.

Any deep cleaning mask works great. I use st. Ives with blackhead control it works great

Here's your solution
Aspirin Masks
Crush 5 non-coated aspirin with drops of water until it forms a paste use it as a masks for not more than 10 minutes, rinse it off with gentle cleanser and moisturize. Doing this regularly results to amazing clear pores and brighter complexion.
Aspirin contains sal acid. good for skin.
Many has never heard of it but it doeswork wonders. Goodluck!

You can try these home remedies to remove tan & lighten skin:

Mix 1 table spoon of milk powder, 1 table spoon of honey, 1 table spoon of lemon juice, and ½ table spoon of almond oil. Apply on face and wash off after 10-15 minutes. This pack helps bring shine to the skin and also removes tan.

Mix oatmeal with curd and tomato juice and apply on the face. Keep it on for 20 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. It helps remove the tan and lightens the skin.

Place sliced raw potato on the face. It helps reduce blemishes and other marks.

Applying turmeric powder along with lime juice removes the tan. Lime juice is natural bleach.

Dried orange peels mixed with curd also help reduce blemishes and scars. Wash off this mixture with cold water after 15 minutes.

Soak 4 almonds overnight. Grind into a fine paste using milk. Apply on face and neck and leave it overnight. Wash with cold water in the morning. Do this daily for 15 days, followed by twice a week.

A table spoon of gram flour mixed with 2 table spoon of raw milk and 2-3 drops of lime juice works well for lightening dark skin. Apply this mixture and leave it for 15 minutes before washing off. Repeat for 4 weeks and follow up with once a week.

Apply a paste of fresh ground mint leaves and leave it for about 20 minutes. Wash with cold water, continue for 15 days.

Apply a mixture of grated tomato with 2-3 drops of lime juice on the face. Leave it for 20 minutes before washing off. Do this twice a day for 15-20 days for best results.

Does anyone know of any natural/home exfoliation remedies and any good skin and hair beauty tips?

I am looking for some exfoliation remedies for my very dry skin (especially my legs) because regular lotion, oil, etc. doesn't seem to be doing the trick fully. I am also looking to see if anyone knows any good tricks/ideas for hair growth and breakage. Any random beauty tips are appreciate also! :) Thanks.

sand is a very good natural exfoliant.

but moisturize after!!

my hair used to break SO MUCH but this really helped:

i don't know where you live, but if you have a sally's beauty supply near you, i got it there, or you can just follow the link and have it shipped to you.

also, i found that when i used avacado(crushed with olive oil...has to be ripe). that really helped too.

oh, and for your legs too:

burts bees stuff works like a miracle!
you can get them at cvs, walgreens, and probably walmart and stuff, i'm not sure.

and its natural.
i ♥ their poducts.

good luck. =]

Yes, I would recommend the Lemongrass Spa Body Polish. It is homemade in Colorado, and sold through consultants or online. You make preparations at home, but they have done it for you, with the best ingredients.

The body polish and our other products, including shampoo and conditioner, and facial products are made from all natural ingredients and everyone I've shared it with, loves it. They have several wonderful scents (or unscented for sensitive skin).

I am a representative with the company, so I will give you a link to my website, where you can order some directly. I know you will be pleased, and if for some reason, (you would be my first) there is a 30 day refund.

At Lemongrass Spa, we don't use any harsh chemicals; no mineral oil, petrolatum, petroleum, parabens, sodium-lauryl/laureth Sulfate (SLS), alcohol, DEA, TEA, and none of our fragrance oils contain phthalates, as well as none of our packaging materials. Even if you chose not to try our products, a quick search online, will yield a lot of reasons why you should avoid the chemicals listed above.

I encourage you to visit my website (www.ourlemongrassSpa.com/LizC ) and to try some of our products. If you enjoy the luxuries of a day spa you will love the skin treatments offered by Lemongrass.

my best remedy is using al natural cosmetics' cream , lotion, and shampoo/conditioner. they also have info on skin types lol.... its really good for my skin and hair (roses ( my friend) too) so good luck

Hi! I would try this recipe for a body scrub. Be sure to test it somewhere like the back of your arm first to make sure it doesn't irritate your skin.

Brown sugar body scrub
Ingredients
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons ground oats
2 tablespoons aloe vera gel
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon olive oil

Grind the oatmeal in a food processor first, otherwise it will scratch your skin.
Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl. Mix until it resembles a paste.
It should be applied on moist skin, the best time is after you took a shower. It will help the skin cells slough off faster.

Use circular motion and massage gently using your fingertips.

Rinse off with warm water.Follow up with a good moisturizer . Alba Botanica makes a great one! Another really important thing is to drink lots of water. Drinking more water will definitely help your dry skin heal from the inside out. Hope this helps!

www.beautifulforever.webs.com and seventeen.com both have a lot of beauty tips • :)

I would say not to use chemicals on your hair. Why don't you go for some home remedies. Egg whites, lemon juice, oil massages, reducing stress and diet changes can reduce hair fall and make it healthier. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for hair loss as well as for healthy hair at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/hairfall.htm...

What is that exfoliation/shaving alternative pad I saw on tv?

It's this pink hand held pad of crystals and exfoliation stuff that apparently can take off all your body and facial hair. I thought about buy it but can't find it on the internet since I forgot what it's called. What is it?

It's called "smooooth legs".

http://www.smoooothlegs.com/

I purchased it, and I don't think it's worth it whatsoever. It exfoliates, but it irritates your skin when your trying to remove hair since you are moving the pad in circles in the same area. I did it on my boyfriends back, his back was red and developed rashes that lasted a week. I used it on my upper lip, hurts like a B*TCH! Used it on my leg, developed rashes and bumps, and some part of my skin started to bleed. Save your money and just wax.

smooth away

smooth away and i got it, doesn't work. i tried not shaving my legs for about a week and used it. the hard looked like it was gone but when i felt my leg it felt like stubble. my best friend also bought one and said it didn't work for her either. neither of us have coarse hair either it just made out legs both feel like stubble.

For exfoliating your face, what kind of exfoliation systems are out there?

What kind of exfoliation gadgets, tools, procedures, or whatever else is related to exfoliation exists?

I really like an apricot scrub. Its just a daily face wash. Cheap too. St. Ives Apricot Scrub or I also like Biore Detoxify.

What type of exfoliation do they use for burn victims?

I saw someone yesterday said that they did exfoliation that they would on a burn victim to reduce/diminish their stretch marks after birth and I was just curious what regime they would have used?
Because someone posted in the pregnancy section on how to get rid of stretch marks...

y did u post this in pregnancy?

So does exfoliation help clear up pimples?

I just want to know does exfoliation help, I have read lots of tips but am wondering about exfoliation.

cheers
okay thank you! I thought it probably does, so how often should I use the stuff?
I am also trying to clean up my diet, more fruit, and water. More exercise, I also tried toothpaste.
so erm mixed results, I think it is helping, although am only getting pimples around the chin and above the lip area, don't want it spread aye.

It can if the root of your breakouts is clogged pores or skin that does not slough off properly. If you have sensitive skin, exfoliation can irritate it and make pimples worse.

I have sensitive skin that doesn't slough off properly and the best treatment I've found is Arbonne cleanser & moisturizer twice a day and an occasional round of (3-4) light glycolic peels. The glycolic acid is mild and helps clean out my pores without the abrasiveness of physical exfoliation.

No but growing out of puberty does.

YES....it's the best way to do it.

It helps to rid your skin of dry cells. A healthy diet and keeping your face clean is a better help.

I think it helps prevent them. It cleans around them and helps clear them up faster.

Yes it does, you should try Proactive it gently exfoliates and really clears up your skin.

Yes, of course it does, but it is just not enough alone.

im wondering the same thing, but what i have heard it when you aggravate pimples they get worse and breakouts may occur, so that leaves me questioning does it actually help but at the same time does it contradict the help its providing. What i do know is that if you increase blood circulation your face by massage or those facial machines (maybe ex foliation), it can cause pimples to diminish.
GOOD LUCK!

no

pls dont use it if u have pimples, instead of clearing it may aggravate you problem, exfoliation is done just to remove dead cells from the skin,as it is done with rough scrub it may aggravate and spread to other parts of the face.try thes home remedies instead mix nutmeg powder and milk apply on the skin until it dries and wash it off try this for 15 days,u will find the difference

What kind of exfoliation gadgets, tools, procedures, or whatever else is related to exfoliation exists?

What is the best thing to exfoliate with ?

A LUFA!
most definitely. it's ruff and removes all the dry skin and it helps your hair grow outward instead of inward (preventing ingrown hairs)
also use an exfoliating body scrub with little beads in it.

What is the difference between an exfoliation and a peeling?

I'm not too hot on beauty terms. Is there any difference between the two?

exfoliating is basically using a scrub or a strong retinoid to take dead surface skin cells off. A peel, at a doctors office, takes a deeper layer of skin off. An at home peel is not much different than a mask or a scrub. When u have peel at a doctors office, its a chemical peel and your face is very red and looks burned, but only for 1 to 2 weeks. Then, after a new layer of skin grows, its fresher and makes you look younger. The basic point of a peel is to remove skin damage and make you appear younger. An exfoliation is something you can do at home with a grainy scrub you can buy at a beauty store or grocery story. More expensive ones sold at sephora or department stores are sometimes better and gentler. The cheaper ones do the job well tho. It all depends on your skin. If your skin is sensitive you might want something gentler and not as grainy. After exfoliation you skin will be smoother and brighter. Chemical peels are also for mature skin or for people with acne scars and deep wrinkles. If you are young, a once a week exfoliation is all you need. Hope that helped.

what chemicals and natural ingredients are good for exfoliation?

i want to get into chemistry, but i dont know exactly where to start. any tips?

There a few of them out there, you could get better feedback from a dermatologist but the good ones that I know are: salicylic acid, glycolic acid, citric acid, malic acid, and fruit enzymes
