eyebrow waxing?

mkay. so anyways, im thirteen and i need to go get another waxing done on my eyebrows. my friends and i were going to go to this one place, and they also do pedicures and manicures, and of coarse waxing.

do you know if they make you have an adult with you for getting just a plain eyebrow wax?

just wondering becuase you do for facials.

yah they do but have fun I tweeze sometime just for the stray hair that pops up here and there!

no. i've been getting my eyebrows waxed with my friends for years and we only had a parent for two of the millions of times.

they don't.

Eyebrow waxing>?!?!!?

Hey I was wondering if any of you ladies ever had any problems with eyebrow waxing... I had it done a second time two days ago, and like last time, I got all these tiny bumps that will probalbly turn into zits or whatever they are. Grr I thought maybe this wouldn't happen a second time, is this just because I have sensitive skin??
I put Aloe Vera on it, if you ladies have this problem what do you put on it?
I think I'm gonna stick to plucking!

next time put hydro-cortisone on it...it's just the pores reacting to the waxing ..it usually stops after the first or second time.
the oils in your skin uses the hairs as a "ladder" to coat the skin ,when it's removed (the hair) the oil becomes trapped and produces tiny bumps that look like a breakout

I use to get my brows waxed all the time. I tanned a lot though so a few times the person actually ripped off a few layers of skin leaving a mark similar to rug burn it was horrid for a few days. Neosporin and aloe vera worked for healing it. OO can't forget the giant sunglasses if it turns out really bad, but don't worry...it should only last a day or 2.

yea stick to plucking--after a while your skin gets tougher and you won't break out anymore--and if you keep plucking eventually it won't hurt as much anymore either

your skin is probably really sensitive. yes aloe vera or a deep moisturizer is good to put on. you may want to try sugar wax or a pain free wax like nu free or lipil. besides tweezing you could get laser removal which lasts 3 years and up.

I have never had any problems like that, maybe you should switch places as they aren't being gentle enough and prepping your skin with skin soothing ingredients first like mine does.
But yes, its nothing to worry about your skin's just been irritated.

I too get those little red bumps when I wax my eyebrows. Do you do your own at home or do you have them done in a salon? Usually in the salon afterwards they put some alcohol over where they had waxed, but at home when I do my own the box comes with after wax products. You might want to try buying the complete kit, I noticed when I use it that way I don't get the bumps.

ANOTHER THING TO THINK ABOUT: When you go to the salon to have your eyebrows waxed, did you notice if they opened a brand new container of wax??? I can almost guarantee they didn't. Last year I went to the salon for a Brazillian bakini wax. They did not open a new container for me, as a matter of fact she continued with the same container that she "double dipped" in when she waxed my bakini area then waxed my eyebrows too. How many other people do you think she waxed before me??? Does it matter, if it was 1 or 100? That's just nasty to have that done.

Really think about doing your own waxing at home, or buy your own and have a friend do it for you.

ok well it matters on the type of wax i have been to some places where the wax will make me break out and then i have been to some that you won't break out so try going to dif. places

you may have had an allergic reaction to the wax they use. try to find out whats in it and see if they have another formula or try going to a different place. witch hazel helps

i refuse to wax anymore....twizzers are my friend... wax is messy and i got those bump things plus in grown hairs! twizzors are better at least i control how much pain at once i give myself.

How much does a eyebrow waxing cost in the uk?

well i want a eyebrow waxing because my eyebrows are out of control! anyhow i have tried plucking and it has not worked so i am going to get them waxed well i have two questions:
how old do you have to be for a waxing?
how much does it cost?

any age is ok if very young consult your parent...
$6 is average price includes both eyebrows ~!!

do it yourself and post a picture.....haha

it really all depends on where you go.. most i think would be £10 but when i got it done in a shop in the highstreet it was just £6.. its not sore, i would'nt consider doing it yourself as you probrably dont know what you are doing and it could go wrong.. good luck!

What is a good at-home eyebrow waxing kit? Also one for body?

I need to find a good at home eyebrow waxing kit and one for my body too. If you have any suggestions, could you please tell me them?

Sally hansen you can find it at cvs

What do you do when you get a bad eyebrow waxing job?

How do you remedy a bad eyebrow waxing job that leaves your skin all red and hurting like hell?

Sue against the waxing product or salon that did it. That always makes me feel better. j/k (well it depends on how bad.) Aloe is very soothing and gentle to skin and may help. It can be found most in moisturizers. Oh and ice helps.

use ice for a while then put on some lotion

ice, then rub aloe vera on them.

keep it clean and use some ice. It should go away in a day. Also, try to see if anyone in your area does eyebrow threading instead of waxing. That way your skin does not get damaged.

and why would a guy get their eyebrows waxed anyways lol cool compress should work

you have them tatooed on

Tons of aloe vera lotion and ice them down. You'll be good in no time (1 or 2 day i mean)

What can I use to replace a cotton strip for waxing my eyebrow?

im trying to get my eyebrow waxed and i plans on usuing sugar, lemon juice and water, but i don't have the cotton strip the kit asks for. could i use printer paper or something?

If you are using a sugaring wax you don't need strips you actually apply in the opposite direction of the hair and pull in the direction of the hair. with your fingers and it kind of balls up. Try a spot on your leg first to make sure you are applying it correctly. If you need strips for regular wax go to a beauty supply store buy pellon or muslin strips and cut them down to size.

what us the best way to cover up a burn from eyebrow waxing?

Yesterday I got my eyebrow waxed and got the top layer of my skin taken off right above my eyelid crease. I have two very noticable marks there and I have this party thing today. Any tips on how to cover it up?

Use COLD aloe vera or aloe vera cream.

well probably should lower the heat on the wax or something
anyway
try concealer
maybeline has white and it coveres everything!

Sue them!!
I hate when they do that, I sure hope you didnt tip them.

Hey listen I don't know about how you can cover them up but this is important. sometimes its not that the wax was too hot! Alot of dermatologist fail to tell people that if you are using differin gel , or a retin a cream this causes the skin to rip off. Its crazy I know but it happened to me and I found out about it on a google search. It kept happening and I actually still have slight scarring. I started threading my eyebrows after I found that out so caution if you are using those creams that could be the cause and not the wax being too hot. Goodluck and sorry about the mishap.

How Can I Be Less Sensitive With Eyebrow Waxing?

I have such a low pain threshold, that I can't even get my eyebrows waxed without being a baby. I'm always careful not to wax right before/after my period. Yet, every time (which is only around 3-4 times a year because it hurts so damn bad) I look like a fool on the waxing table, twitching, furrowing my brows, and digging my nails into my hand (seems to help a little). I know I must be hilarious to watch. I'm fighting back tears during the wax. I know I look like a total spaz, and it's frustrating the estheticians because they always scold me. I tried threading, and it was even worse. I don't even want to imagine what leg waxing or bikini waxing (or god forbid, brazilian) is like. I don't want to shave my brows, depilatory creams can't be used, and tweezing hurts like a mofo. So, how can I remedy this? I don't want to look like some hairy monkey.

Pick the lesser of two evils.

Plucking or waxing?

Where can a 13 year old get a good eyebrow waxing done in the Chicagoland are?

Hi im 13 years old and I wanted to get my eyebrows waxed. Does anyone know where i can get my eyebrows done? It has to be in a Chicagoland area near the suburbs. And a good price range.

hey i live in the chicagoland area
i dont want to say exactly where but i live in a very well known city that starts w/ an N.
but anyway go to any nail salon place they do it. thats where i get my eyebrows done
or if u live near this area go to the fox valley mall and they have a eyebrow threader next to the hollister that i know a lot of people go to
basically just go to a nail salon they always do a good job :D

How much does eyebrow waxing cost at the spa?

I am somewhat afraid of the nail salons places that wax eyebrows, i think i would much rather go to the spa, on average what is the range of how much does it will cost?

depends where you go. it can range from $15- 30. Go to the spa for your first time and then afterward go to the nail salon every 3 weeks or so. the spa will make them not look so fake and then the salon will just keep them from getting bushy. its also cheaper at the salon, $8- 10 .
