Flashy Lash owner: Beauty is her business Seacoastonline.com

Herrington of York, Maine, said she offers eyelash extensions and LashDip, a semi-permanent lash coat.

"LashDip is semi-permanent mascara," Herrington said. "It is hand-sculpted on the lashes, one at a time. It's basically the same technique as hair extensions."

This procedure eliminates the need for mascara, she said. The LashDip product is hypoallergenic, water, smudge and flake proof, according to Herrington, who said the product is safe for pregnant women, teenagers and those undergoing cancer treatments.

"It's up to the client what they want," she said. "LashDip can be an active length, natural-looking or it can be really thick and glamorous. There's also a wide range of colors and tones."

Herrington said LashDip is perfect for busy women who don't want to spend time putting on mascara, as well as brides and women attending a special event. The initial application lasts three weeks before a fill is needed. With proper maintenance, Herrington said the lashes could last indefinitely.

eyelash extension?

i'm asian and have non existant eyelashes, like most asians. I've been thinking about getting eyelash extensions....but the prices are steep in the pockets. I dont know if it will be worth it. Everytime i wear mascara it breaks my lashes. Are there any other products that can seriously lengthen and thicken my lashes for a long time that doesnt cost much money?

wow, your hot, you dont need to change the way you look, you look very hot. did I say your hot?

You can wear fake eyelashes.
There are some great lengthening mascaras - Maybelline Define a Lash is very nice. I use a product called Lash Extensions that is sold by HSN.COM - it is absolutely excellent - it brushes little fibers on your lashes after your first coat of mascara - then curl again and add a second coat of mascara - it looks like your lashes are thicker and longer because of the fibers

Have you considered purchasing the singular, glue on lashes (like at Sally's) and applying them yourself where you need them??? the cost is quite slight...................I use them frequently............about 2 to 3 $ .....

Check it out

You can try using Vaseline on your lashes every night, or a product called Revitalash. These will moisturize and condition the lashes you do have and minimize breakage. Also, only use gentle eye makeup removers when washing face, never scrub eyes.

Beyond that, your options are mascara, falsies, or extensions. Extensions are very pricey and are not permanent. Unless you have lots of expendable cash it is not really worth it as a long term solution. I think false eyelashes are your best option. You can buy cheaper and natural looking ones in drugstores (I like the Revlon ones) and they can be cut to your preference. Use a conditioning volumizing formula of mascara like Maybelline full and soft or Loreal voluminous. Put on a couple of coats and let dry, then add more to the ends only to build length.

This is all you can really do. Hope this helps!

Hey! I'm asian too!

My friend got his cut in half during truth or dare one night and they've grown back long and thick
But it takes a month for that to happen and I don't think you want to be eyelash bald for that long

So instead of using mascara (because really, they're all chemicals that aren't good for your lashes) I suggest you curl your lashes (if they aren't naturally curled) and put vaseline on your lashes using a clean mascara wand or an eyelash comb.
Do it in the mornings, even if you're not going out but avoid putting and vaseline on several hours before you sleep cos then your eyes get puffy
BE WARNED: Vaseline CAN smudge your make up if too much is applied, esp lower lashes

But for special occasions (e.g. major major MAJOR date or prom or something) use a mascara! I love max factor masterpiece (amazingly lengthening but can clump) Diorshow (for maximum volume) and Imju Dejavu Fiberwig (looong eyelashes- lovely) and maybe available to you if you live in asia

yes, I tried this Lash Lenghtning oil out on this natural site- and it grew both mine and my daughter's lashes. I thought it was a tiny bottle, but we both used it .
They are thicker and longer now.
SOmehting used by geisha they said
It is expensive, but am thinking not as much as the extensions- and besides they'll be your own ;)

There are a few products to make eyelash be longer and thicker, but real good ones are quite expensive. Anyway if you are interested LiLash is great, and you're sure it will not make your lashes break.

Do I need to qualify to do hair and eyelash extension for my customer?

I lived in NewZealand and want to do hair and eyelash extension business at home. Do I need to qulify as a beaution?

No to both, I do both and I am not a qualified beauty therapist. I have done courses on both but they are not NQZA official qualifications. Though training courses from reputable companies help. I suggest Xtreme Lashes for the lashes. It may also pay to see if you can find a business that will let you operate from their premises, it adds to your credibility to be in a commercial location. For example I have a shop in Napier that sells hair extensions and does eyelash extensions (well lashes start next month) called Tasha's Beauty Supplies. I used to operate from home but have grown into a commercial address and it just adds more weight and seriousness to what you are doing. You find a beauty therapist that doesn't do lashes hire a bed a couple of days a week? Find a hairdresser who will do the same?

For the eyelash extensions yes, and for the hair extensions you need to have completed a course and to unable you for insureance.

Can anyone tell me which eyelash extension company to choose?

I am looking to become certified in eyelash extensions and am having a hard time choosing between Lavish Lashes and some of the other companies out there. I know that Lavish has the best reputation in the market based on what I've heard, but I wanted to get some more opinions before making my decision.

Any good eyelash extension places in los angeles?

I don't want it permanent. I'm looking for a good price (no more than $20.) The last place I went to only cost $15 but the dye was so strong, it burned my eyes. I have very sensitive eyes so I'm looking for a professional that won't cost an arm and leg.
Umm.. this looks like a blogspot for llamas. It says absolutely nothing about eyelashes or makeup. Thanks for nothing!

there is a cool place by my house in downtown long beach. i dont know how much they are but someone told me they were cheep. i live on 7th and pacific. in downtown long beach.

Is the glue in eyelash extension harmful to my eyes?

I washed my face after 12 hours of the application and I feel a tingling feeling in my eyes. Is it the glue coming off? if so is it harmful to my eyes or is it just that my eye hates foreign objects?

it does go away after I've towel dry the lashes. also it happened again today when i shower.

maybe i've got sensitive eyes? cuz sometimes when i put on new contact lenses, the tingly sensation also arises and disappear after a few minutes.

can you help?
no... i'm not using the ordinary false stick on eye lashes. got them professionally done and it will last for 2 months. just wondering about the ingredients of the glue. but i never heard anyone's eye getting injured.

eyelash extension is very popular where i'm at.

Glue for eyelash extension are supposed to be MILD & EYE-FRIENDLY.
You should check 1st the expiration date, that could be a big factor. also the directions.
I assume that u are using extensions for special occasions, right? I advice that you use MASCARA - there are mascaras that really put volume to yuor eyelashes! no need for extensions.
Since you're really experiencing eye irritations, try to go to your eye DOCTOR....it's better to be cautious than sorry. There are cases that contacts could cause BLINDNESS.

Will eyelash adhesive hold in a hair extension?

My friend glued an extension in with hair glue, and it washed out the next day when I washed my hair, just like she said it would.

I want to put it back in, but all I have is eyelash adhesive. Would that hold it in? I don't think it'd do any harm since it's okay to put it on your eyelid..

Anyone knoww?

It wont work. The extension weighs more than that type of glue is designed to hold.
