You could use the Vichy range, which is only sold in pharmacies. That has the main advantage that there is a professional giving you advice, who is interested in selling you something, yes - but in a different way than a regular shop assistant in a drug store or cosmetics department; at least pharmacists have studied their area and have not just been trained as sales staff.
The home facial peels are fine, so far there aren´t any really cheap ones on the market I would tell you to stay away from. Though especially with moderate to dry skin, these intense peelings are probably not really for you; regular peelings once or twice a week will be just fine. :)

If you're looking for a product that is to clear acne and help maintain your skin so that it is acne-free, a facial peel is not the best idea.
Instead, a clay mask for clearing pores is a great remedy. I would suggest using Neutrogena's Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask that costs around $8 dollars depending on where you go. This product will help you clean out your pores so that your skin is acne free, and it really keeps it nice and soft. I use it every couple of days and my skin is spot free. Is a sunburn on your face anything like a facial peel?
I recently got sunburned on my face pretty bad from a trip to the great sand dunes and it's peeling. I remember reading that a facial peel will help clear pores and help with acne and the like. So might my face look clearer after the redness from the sunburn goes away? Just a curious thought
no...a facial peel isn't literally peeling layers of skin off your face - like a sunburn will turn into. a facial peel is a fancy way of saying deep clean/exfoliation. your sunburn may dry out your face - which may help with your breakouts but it is in no way the same as healthy skin care methods
-Depending on the percent of the facial peel...when the facial peel is applied (u leave it on for a certain amount of time...most say don't exceed 10 min.), you will feel itchyness and burning.
I would reccomend that you don't get a facial peel right after your sunburn. When u get the facial peel, it will make ur skin pink/red (which is normal) and then go down to ur normal skin color.

It's been 5 days since I had a facial chemical peel done. My face has swelled up and I have a lot of tiny red bumps only on my cheeks that itch very bad. Honestly, it depends on what chemical peel you had. Different ingredients cause different reactions. Call the place you got the peel at and find out the name, then go online to find out the side effects. Most peel companies also have an 800 number to call with questions.
What's normal across the board: tightness and dryness, especially around the mouth, nose and eyes; itching (a result of dryness). A little bit of swelling would be normal.
Depending on the peel the information on their website should have what to do if it itches (often using hydro cortisone cream), etc. It will also contain typical symptoms of an allergic reaction. You should have received moisturizer for aftercare, if not, find out what moisturizers you can use with the peel. That should help with the tightness, dryness and probably itching. If it's a really strong peel, 10 days of downtime is typical.
What real benefits can I see from a facial peel or microdermabrasion?

HI and wash your face before you use the mask and again after you do it. Then , take a shower whenever you want. I have been using masks for way too long and you have to have a clean face before and you need to wash it again after. But, usually, a shower can be taken any time you want it. Peace out!
