How would I go about building a golf resort?

Okay its always been my dream to build my own golf resort. I've got 500,000. How do I build my resort starting with that. I know that the golf course will cost 2 mil +, but I don't have that kind of money. And please don't tell me I need to win the lottery. That would be nice though.

Dear friend.

As you and I know that those $500k is not enough. But don't make that into a problem. There are several creative ways and solutions to pursue this goal. The goal and the mission will be hard but not impossible.

First of all, do you have an ideal location in where you want to develop this in? What State or Country? Mexico? USA? California? If you don't have a location already, then I suggest that you should start thinking for a location. Location is key!

Second, upon deciding for a location. I would recommend in doing an in depth report of the business model. Such as in how this would be finance. Marketing strategies? Business plan? Finance plan? ETC!

About financing this project. You should consider in bringing outside investors or partners that could help in developing this. I bet that there is so many investors that won't mind in investing on this project if the proposal is perfect. The bottom line is that you need to assemble a team that is knowledgable in this type of field. The team could be two or up to 6.

Upon having a motivated team that will share the same vision as you, all the team members would need to do thier homework. That mean's reading tedious books, seeking out consultants, and looking for the right people to get on board that could have connections.

I need a resort in Florida that is on the beach. A golf course would be nice and a swim up bar is a must.

Is There a Golf Course Designer Game out there besides Golf Resort Tycoon?

There was a game I used to play called PGA Championship 2001, that I loved because of the designer. I purchased golf resort tycoon thinking it would be the same, well it was a joke..... somebody help

Does living near a soon to be Country club golf resort increase your property value?

I am purchasing a house here in a new subdivision. I see that 2 streets across from mines, they are working on building a huge Great Landings Country Club Golf Resort that is to offer lots of amenities. I am wondering if this will cause the value of my house and property to increase once complete, or will it drive down the value.

I moved into a 130,000 home in 1999. They (tom Watson) built the national within eyesight of my back yard making the view beautiful.
Due to refinancing I had the house appraised to remove the POI and it appraised for 190K, NOW I did remodel the Kitchen and add siding, but that in itself didn't raise the price. It helped but the appraiser said the National CC helped a lot.

Not sure why everyone thinks Property Taxes will increase, mine haven't in 6 years the National has beein operation.

Good resort golf courses in Northeast?

My buds and I are going to have a guys weekend and want to go golfing. What are good golf courses that are a part of a resort that would be fun for a weekend trip. My friends live in Boston and Philadelphia, so we want something in the northeast within driving distance of these cities.

I like Hartfeld in Chester Co, PA and the DuPont Country Club in Wilmington, DE, but neither is a resort. The golfing is good though!

What is the cost to invest for constructing a golf resort with spa in Vietnam HCM. And how is the operating ?

cost like?
A 54 holes golf course and a moderate buildout accomodation with full facilities of 5 star hote. l don't understand how much arch to be build as I am not profession in it.
About 150 to 200 rooms.

How many holes is the golf course?
How many guest rooms?
What type of buildout do you anticipate: budget, moderate, high-end?
Other amenities?
How many acres is the project?

Operating costs are low, but gotta have a few more details to help on the cost.

We aren't going into the city most likely but we will be doing scuba.

Your best bet would be to go with the Riu chain. I have never had a problem with the Riu chain of hotels. They are wonderful and always have a great staff of friendly employees that take wonderful care of you. Rius' are famous all throughout Mexico and the Caribbean. Good luck and enjoy your time!!!

What courses, qualifications or degrees would someone need to be able to find a job as Groundskeeper at a Golf Course or Resort Hotel?

Here is a golf school that has lots of great info about the golf industry. They have a lot of great articles and information on careers in the golf industry including Golf Course Management. Very nice site.
