More men are seeing the value of spas China Daily
A market once dominated by female customers is shifting ground as higher-tipping males enter it, Xu Junqian in Shanghai reports.
The first time masseuse Jin Xiaoying had a male customer at the spa where she worked three years ago, she didn't know where to look. "I was even more awkward than him, and it was also a new experience for him," she recalled.
Now Jin, having been in the spa industry for more than half a decade, is very comfortable seeing a growing number of men taking off their clothes, lying down on the massage bed naked and waiting for her to knead their bodies. In fact, she has become friends with quite a number of them, including that first customer, a 20-something good-looking man from Wenzhou, in Zhejiang province, a city generally considered to be the home of China's nouveau riche.
"They now come to me not only for a spa treatment but also for advice about relationships or suggestions for a gift for their mums' birthdays," said Jin, 32, who quit her job as a tourist guide and learned Thai-style massage in 2006.

I would like to be a SPA Manager. Could anyone give me a guide as to what I should do?
That is my advice. Get a job working at a spa OR go buy one if you have that kind of money and tell all your employees that you are now the manager. They'll smile, and go start their own competing business. So, its back to working in a spa and getting to know what makes one successful.
Good luck in your quest.
Can anyone provide me instructions on how to make lavender spa salt?
I've searched around a lot but there have always been different instructions on how to do this. Some say to add lavender oil and others say to add dried flowers. Some say to use epsom salt, some say to use dead sea salt. I've also heard that epsom salt can ruin the piping in a spa.
I would appreciate it if anyone could provide me with a guide and instructions on how to make lavender spa salt. I plan on making a huge quantity (hundreds of pounds, possibly a thousand).
Lavender Bath Salts
1 C. Lavender Blossoms
5 C.Coarse sea salt
1 oz Lavender Essence Oil
Purple Food Color- Liquid Type(Optional)
Mix sea salt and lavender blossoms
Slowly add lavender oil until you get the scent as strong as you want it.Add coloring a drop at a time till it is a color you want.
This makes just about 6 cups of bath salts
You can double up on the recipe, just remember to use a ratio of 1 C. blossoms to 5 C. Sea Salt.
OMG please help me open up my spa please?
hi and thanks so much for reading and replying! I'm Derek Logan. You can call me Logan if you want.
I am opening up a spa and have no idea how much i am going to make a year. it will be a big place not a smaller on.
huge foyer area and a hair/nail salon. there will be a pool and hot tub for members only, restaurant, relaxation rooms, lockers, bathrooms, about 15 spa rooms. i want to know how much average spas make a year. on average. im in tampa florida.
here an overgo of my prices...
acne facial 1/2 treatments for teens 80 dollars
regular facial open for teens as well for 60 dollars
aromatherapy facial 70 dollars
'' massage 120 dollars
'' massage and facial 175 dollars
90 minute massage 135 dollars
couples massage (60m) 185 dollars
60 minute massage 115 dollars
30 minute massage 95 dollars
that is just a preview of a similar pricing guide for my spa
i just want to know how much the spa makes not the restaurant or salon.
please help and do research
VERY APPRECIATED!! :-)
Thanks
That seems pretty high for me, but then again I am in the sticks in Michigan. There is a growing trend for more people to do at home spa for themselves, and that is what type of stuff I am selling on my website.
You will have to look at what the going rates are in your area, Tampa is a large city with a growing population. Look into age defying treatments because of all of the sunburns.
Look forward to working with you!
I would like to start a resort of my own. Can someone guide me which locations are ideal for the same.?
- can also help me with land price, contact person who i can refer and talk with
i have not thought about a theme..to be frank, its just a dream. i dont like to work in companies where rules n policies are more important than the job.i want the resort (incl. stay, spa, nature walks, pool, cuisine etc etc) to be located in the midst of nature..surrounded by greenery ..isolated..i dnt want it to be commercialised a lot..
do u want it in india or sumwhere else....
india-kerela
otha parts of da world-NEW ZEALAND
Read your two sentences again above. Do you not think this is a contradiction? As soon as you build your spa you will ruin the greenery and isolation, there will be nowhere to have your nature walks. You will ruin the very thing that you and others value. Don't do it.
Think again. Businesses in city centres are much more profitable, much more environmentally friendly, much less of a liability. Locate your business in a busy city centre and you have a 'chance' of it surviving from passing trade.
Is there a website that has state by state guide to mineral baths, spas, hot springs, etc?
do a Google search on Hot Springs

Is it worth to go to Qatar in weekend?
I'm not asking to compare between Qatar and another countries. by the way, I like Coffee shops, romance restaurants, nightclubs, anywhere the have shisha, spa, cinema and special events. Is there all of these things and more or not?
Guide me there. I'm going there from Saudi Arabia by car. So how long it will take to get there, let say from Dammam.
i would recommend qatar is the best. Everything you mentioned, have here in Doha. You have a car? thats good because transportation is becoming very costly today. If you're here, let me know and I will guide you on your travel. Welcome!
