hair coloring?

what is the acid-base neutralization chemical reaction of hair dying?
i kno that an acid plus a base produces water and a salt, i just want to kno what the acid, base and salt are.
and if possible, any other chemical tidbits about hair coloring.
just for clarification, i am supposed to do a chemistry project about the acid-base reactions in hair dye. im not planning on dying my own hair...

no acid or base is used for hair coloring. the H2O2 is used as decolorizing agent. usualy we salts of halogens

it includes the compound which fixes the H2O2
AND COLOUR THE HAIR

but colouring hair is harmful

it increases the chances of hairfall, dandruff, roughness, and dehabit the growth

How can I have permanent hair coloring removed and returned to my original hair coloring ?

yes and the process is called striping. you can do it yourself if you want. The salon will use a chemical that "strips" the dye out of your hair.

They make a product called Oops or something like that-have a couple other products at Walgreens too. But your hair will not look the exact same as your original no matter what.

What's the best hair coloring product for straightened hair?

I usually go to salon to straighten my hair every 6mos. and i'm planning to have it colored permanently. I hate henna hair color because the color fades every time I wash my hair. Is there a hair coloring product that will not damage my straightened hair? How much is that product and where can I buy it?

Clairers is a really good brand and you can find it almost anywhere :)

BOTH Revlon and Clairol have EXCELLENT Coloring Products for Straightened Hair ! ! !

Also try http://www.hairproducts.com or http://www.haircolor.com

what hair coloring product should i use if i have black hair wanting to go red?

My hair color is a dyed black hair and it is fading out and i am thinking about dying my hair red but i dont want it to be a auburn color.
What hair coloring product should i use?

If your hair is already dyed black you can't go lighter unless you go to a professional to have the black color lifted with bleach then the new color can be applied. I would not recommend this. It is very, very damaging to the hair. This is not a procedure you can do at home....consult a professional

im the same... i think it may have to be pre-lightened first!! im bothered bout the roots being really nice red and the rest of it looking faded!! hope we find the answer... haaa

Yes, it's true, haircolor will not lift/lighten haircolor. You will have to use bleach to lighten the faded "black" to a desirable red shade. It is a very tricky procedure and extremely difficult to do at home. If you are on a budget and cannot afford this corrective haircolor procedure *this is corrective color and is more expensive), then visit a Beauty School for the service. Beauty Schools tend to be much less expensive than a Salon, as services are rendered by students, and supervised by Instructors.

The other option you have is to simply have highlights added to your hair to lighten specific strands vs your entire head. After the highlights are finished, your hairdresser can apply a demi-permanent haircolor over the highlights to give you the red shade you want. The red could also be applied over the faded black to even out the color and add a hint of red. If you don't like auburn, I suggest you go with a Red-Violet based red that will give you a cool red/plum shade.

What type of hair does hair coloring spray work on?

For Halloween I'm going as the Joker, I want to temp spray my hair green since wigs never work for me. I dye my hair black regularly. Actually it's kind of a bluish black. Does temp hair coloring spray work on any type of dyed hair or do I need to remove the black dye first before applying it? By the way, my natural color is blonde, so if this question makes me sound stupid, there's your answer.

If you dye your hair black regularly that means your hair is probably decently damaged, which is ideal for spray-on color. Color sticks better to damaged hair because it is lacking it's essential protective oils. However, because your hair is black odds are the color won't show.

Think of it like coloring. Imagine coloring with crayons on black construction paper. The color is there just as much as it would be on white construction paper, you just cant see it as well.

What at home hair coloring is the best to return back to being a brunette?

I naturally have medium brown hair, but I've used salon highlights and at home highlights before. Now, my hair is more of a light brown/dark blonde color and I'm wanting to return to being a brunette. I would prefer to only use at home hair coloring. Any suggestions are welcome.

just go get it done its the best bet.
ure hair might turn out another color.

What is this hair coloring process called?

I've notice that a lot of people are coloring underneath their hair and the color is slightly noticable because of their layers. Then when they tie their hair up in a ponytail, u can see the strip of color and it looks really cool! Is there a name for this hair coloring trend/process?

My friend told me, it's called "two tone." I'm getting my hair done tomorrow. Black on top, red on bottom :)

Answer for your question is in www.jmbeautytips.com

How can I care for my hair after at home hair coloring?

I recently corrected my at home hair color disaster with wonderful results. All highlights dry my hair out but iI feel especially paranoid after this at home coloring experience. What are the best store bought / homemade conditioners/ treatments for my newly highlighted at-home hair color?

There are a few different choices for u.. First off I am a Hairstylist SO here is my professional Advice. If u need a good shampoo/conditioner (store bought), Paul Mitchell is not that bad . Also now a days u can find alot of salon Products being sold (which they arnt supposed to be out there, because the companies are not wanting them to b, but they get bought by a 3rd party who sells them to the stores). There are a few different 1s u can check for...
there is Matrix,Big Sexy Hair, Kerostase, and purology. They are found at different drugstores like CVS (if thats in your area) and Walmart.. THey are pricier then others though, But remember those products are not straight from the manufacturer. So they could be anything in those bottles or the real thing. Store brand products have alot of silicone and other "coaters" for the hair. That is why Hairstylists want u to use the best products and also alot of Salon products are "water Soluble" which means u are not using as much product , because the water u are using works as a big lather in the hair. That means that you may be paying more up front but in the long run it pans out about even and u are getting a better product. SO my advice.. Spend a bit more up front get at least a salon deep conditioner and start getting your hair back in shape.. Also remember to trim it every 8 wks. Also No matter what people say do not and I repeat DO NOT use a anything on your hair that u can make at home or under your kitchen sink.. DEFINETLY not good for your hair. .It will dry it out more in the long run.... I hope this helped.. GL

What temporary hair coloring products should I try?

I have black hair with brown/copper highlights. I'd like to make my hair lighter (like a light brown) for my halloween costume. What temporary hair coloring products should I try? And where can I get them? I'm looking for something that I can get at a drug store or supermarket and something that's safe and won't ruin my hair.

Colour Pulse By L'Oreal. You can get it at pretty much any drug store I think
http://images.buzzillions.com/images_products/01/92/l_oreal_color_pulse_concentrated_non_reviews_96839_raw.jpg
It washes out really quickly, and makes your hair super shiny & healthy looking. Ive used it twice in two months and it didnt damage my hair at all.
Hope this helps :)

How can I ease out of coloring my hair?

I've been coloring my graying medium brown hair a dark blonde for years, but now want to stop coloring. How can I gracefully transition back to my natural hair color?

Color it the color of your natural color so when it grows out, it won't be as noticeable. Keep it trimmed at least every 6 weeks until it is grown out.
