hair lowlights?

i have light brown hair naturally. about 1 year and 1/2 ago i got blonde highlights that i liked at the time but now i'd much rather have dark brown hair. i'm going to get lowlights, put on heavy. my eyes are dark brown, and i have tan skin, so im hoping it wont look too dark, you know? its like, the color my hair is when it's wet is the color i want it to be when it's dry. do you think the hairdresser will be able to understand what i'm asking for? id appreciate any advice.
ps. i also heard that to make it look more natural, brunettes should darken their hair with red lowlights. but i dont want my hair to be red. what should i do.

If you don't want red, go for 'warm' or 'golden' dark brown. Ashy browns tend to make your hair look dyed, and you look older. They go green under fluorescent lights, and that's why stylists try to steer people toward reds.

If you're feeling uncertain, use something like Clairol's Nice N' Easy, which washes out in a few weeks, and experiment with shades.

I'd recommend anything from dark gold-brown to warm purple for lowlights. Live a little!

Just don't use black. It'll be a disaster. Trust me. I didn't see my natural hair colour from the age of 13 until I was nearly 40!

i did the same thing...i had light brown hair and wanted darker hair and i wanted highlights/low lights .....my hair dresser thought i should get it a red type color but i wasnt having it....so instead i went for a dark brown base color and i got dark dark brown / black low lights and i loveee how it came outt

How long should I wait to wash my hair after lowlights?

I just put lowlights into my hair yestorday...when can I wash it?

You can wash it right away.

How long should I wait before I wash my hair after getting lowlights at the salon?

I need to grab a shower and I'm wondering if it's safe to wash my hair after getting lowlights and highlights. I got them at about 11 this morning. They're permanent, and I got them at a salon. Do I have to wait? If so, until when? Thanks for the help!

anytime you dye your hair you should always wait a day or two to let the natural oils of your hair re-deposit on the hair

Could someone help me find pictures of black hair and pink lowlights?

I'm trying to find pictures of black hair and pink lowlights. My friend has black hair and she wants to add some pink. I think it would look good with pink lowlights, so could someone help me find pictures? Of black hair and pink lowlights? Thanks! :)

How long do I need to wait to put more lowlights or highlights in my hair?

I bought a "do-it-yourself" hightlights kit and did that yesterday, (you have a cap and you pull the hair through the holes in the cap, the more hair you pull through the more blonde you will have) i pulled lots of hair and now my hair is not highlighted but completely blonde! I hate it! How long should i wait to put brown lowlights in my hair to darken the colour? Can i do it right now, because I really hate the blonde hair!

it really depends on what condition your hair is in after bleaching it. and when you do put low lights back in you have to be careful what color you pick because a lot of browns will turn your hair an ashie green color , becuase when going blonde you strip all the pigment out of your hair , so in going back to dark you have to put back the missing colors of pigment that make up brown , and if your hair is really damaged after lightening it might not even soak up the color properly, best bet is to go into a salon and just ask them you dont have to get it done there but no one can really tell you unless they see what kind of shape your hair is in , and if you do , do it on your own make sure you dont get any ash based colors.

It should be ok to darken your color. Just be sure to go with a golden brown or red or something with those colors. Without them you could easily turn it green or purple. Call the number on the box and they will help you pick the right color. Good luck

Is there a place online where you can upload pictures & put on different hair colors, highlights, & lowlights?

i want to put either highlights or lowlights in my hair i have light brown hair now and i don't know if i want dark brown lowlights or dirty blond highlights!!

you can go to this thing on seventeen.com but it is to try out new hair styles

The best one I found is on Ivillage.com it's called makeover-o-matic it's the only one I found that was actually realistic.

I have Dark brunette hair and I want lowlights how many different colors should I have put in?

I've had highlights before and the contrast was shocking, and very odd looking. My hard is every, very dark (almost black) and I have pale skin and highlights just look funny. I've grown my hair out and it's all natural now but I want lowlights, but not too contrasting, how many different colors, I've heard 1 isn't enough and anything past 3 looks freaky but I honestly have no idea whether the people I'm talking to, even have a clue. So what would look best?

Two. One that is 2 shades lighter and one that is three shades lighter.

What colour hair + highlights/lowlights should I have?

Im 13 and i'm bored of my hair - i've never dyed it. I'm really pale and have dark brown hair and eyes. I want to go to a shade of blonde or different shades of brown but definatly not red tones. What colour should I go.
i've got midlength hair that i straighten and i've got a layered fringe.
the cartoony picture for me looks like me exept i've got darker brown hair if that helps
i'm a cool skintone - pale skin and dark brown eyes .
but i'm a little warm because i've got a reddy brown undertone in my hair that you can't see.
i know this caus when i had a few lighter brown highlights they turned out gingery brown !!!!.

i think you should geet a dark blonde color
and more of a golden blonde would look good

How to add lowlights to my hair?

I'm chinese, and i have black shoulder length hair
i want to add dark purple lowlights, but am sorta confused on how to do it from a boxed dye. any help?

I think you have to get this done at your hairstylist. They have to prep it a certain way for this to get the achieved look.

wat color hair lowlights should i get?

I have dirty-blond hair and I was thinking gold and light brown. What do you think?

I think that would look good
