What hair product can I use to turn my frizzy limp hair into curls?
I used to have very curly hair. Now I am in my 50's and my hair has turmed into gentle curls. They are very pretty but the hair on my crown doesn't curl it just is sort of yucky dead and semi-frizzy straught. I call it my dead spot. I am looking for a non sticky product, something like a light spray or cream (not heavy or sticky) that will perk up my curls and get rid of my dead spot. All suggestions are welcome.
Try matrix curl-up spray its in an orange bottle just a little pricey but amazing. I have totally straight hair and it turns it into a full head of curls. You'll love it i'm sure!

You also must treat your hair well! No drying shampoos or conditioners with filler. This means that it's best for you to get all hair products from a salon or beauty supply store like Sally's. Drug store products use fillers like clay which can coat the hair shaft and cause it to break.
Do NOT rub your hair with a towel, just blot it and let ir air dry. The only thing your hair should rub against is silk. Which is a good reason to invest in a silk headwrap and silk pillowcases and bedsheets.
Do NOT use heat more than once a month. Heat will cause hair breakage and just keep you further away from your goal. When you do heat style, use a heat protectant. (This includes hair straightening, flat irons, curling irons, diffusers, and blowdryers.)
It's also best if you avoid using styling products like hairspray, gel, mousse all the time as most of these have some sort of alcohol in it with can dry out your hair.
The next thing is moisture and conditioning. It's best if you get a quality deep conditioner, leave-in conditioner, and daily conditioner.
Once a week or once every two weeks, deep condition your hair.
When you condition your hair with a daily conditioner, leave it on for 10 minutes before washing it out.
Use the co-washing method. That means you might wet your hair everyday and use conditioner, but NOT shampoo. Shampooing everyday isn't really necessary unless your hair is EXTREMELY greasy. You should shampoo the days that you plan on deep conditioning.
When you get out of the shower, you spray the leave-in conditioner in your hair. Infusium 23 Original Formula Leave-In Conditioner is really good. Comb it through with a wide-tooth comb.
Ditch the harsh plastic combs and invest in a boar bristle brush, pick, and wide-tooth comb.
You can also choose to use hot oil treatmens and cholesterol treatments. You should probably do a hot oil treatment once or twice a month and a cholesterol treatment weekly or every two weeks.
People say trimming your hair will grow it longer, but that is FALSE. Your hair grows from the ROOTS, meaning that if you cut your ends, your hair wouldn't recognize this and magically grow. However, trimming will keep your hair neat and get rid of split ends, which makes it stronger and will help with length RETENTION (keeping the length)

I have hair that is naturally curly and I use the Sunsilk Captivating Curls shampoo and conditioner (found at drugstores), but I use Redkin Spring Mousse (found at beauty supply stores, like Ulta) on it after I wash it.
If you only use a little bit of the spring mousse, it dries really nicely (I diffuse my hair) and makes curls that are soft and not crunchy.
