Holly Potter Is Everything Zen Patch.com
Tucked away in a quiet corner of the Groton Ramada Inn’s FX Hair Salon is a gem of a holistic massage practice called Everything Zen. Licensed esthetician and massage therapist Holly Potter plants the seeds of Eastern perspective, holistic education and organic well-being which are now taking root in Groton.
Prior to Potter's skincare career in 2002, the Grasso Tech graduate was a sous chef by age 21 at J P Daniels and Mystic Hilton. She enjoyed the work but found the nature of the restaurant industry too stressful. After a particularly hectic night, Potter recalls the moment she was ready to trade her tenable kitchen position for a more relaxing vocation for herself and those around her.
“One day I walked into a spa and I asked the (esthetician), how do I learn to do what you do? Within a week, I found myself driving up to Warwick to check out the esthetics program,” she says.
Potter’s first job as an esthetician was in 2002 at Norwich Inn and Spa, followed by Stonington Natural Health Center. Over the years, her desires and concepts for her own personal workspace were percolating.

Can anyone recommend a good hair relaxing product for european hair?
I have been using one by a company called dark and lovely but its destroying my hair!
Relaxing products work in exactly the same way as perm lotions, by breaking the hair chain and then reforming it when it is dry, with relaxers straight and with perm lotions curly.
The more you use this on your hair the more damage you do and eventually your hair will be so broken down it will be hard for the chain to reform and it ends up like cotton wool.
Lots of conditioning can help as will Hot oil treatments, although it won't mend your hair.
With very wet hair, VERY large rollers can straighten it, as wrapping your hair around your head and using a large roller on your crown.
Or the other option is that you go and get it done professionally as professional products used are far kinder to your hair than what you can buy in the chemists.
How effective is this hair relaxing product?
I currently use Dark and Lovely brand. Is this a better alternative?

I believe it's really no such thing as chemical free relaxer if it was it would a have been around it just don't make any sence to me If you don't want no chemicals in your hair let it just grow out then then wear it how you want it it doesn't matter what relaxer u wear it's how you take care of your hair what if somedays you wanna rock a pretty afro with a head band wiht some maching shade you cant do that cause you have a perm, to each it's own
Any hair relaxing product which is only meant for retouch?
something I can apply for myself. thanks!
Have you tried using water?
Simply fill an old spray bottle - like an empty pump hairspray bottle (rinsed out & clean).
It mists the moisture better than just splashing or wetting a comb/brush, just where you want it and in the amount that you want.
Sometimes when I style my hair it just does not come out as I want it, so to touch it up, I Re-moisten the area that is irking me with a few sprits of water, and re-style it.
Of course if it isn't working and I get cranky, I have to wash it out and start over from scratch. But usually just a spray bottle of water, will do for a fix or touch up without having to use excess hairspray.
Of course an adjustable nozzle spray bottle is good too, since you can adjust the spray into a squirt to squirt the dog or cat, its a good watergun in a pinch.
Good luck sweetie - cheers!!
I use Gentle Treatment. Gentle and is good so that you do not "over-process" your hair.
Good luck
What are some good quality inexpensive hair relaxing cremes?
I have very curly hair about one half inch to an inch below my jaw bone and with longer side bangs, but it needs to be relaxed. I don't think anything chemical is good for my hair, sooooo..... could you get me some links for good de-frizzing and relaxing products?
u may want to try a flat iron. the ceramic ones don't damage the hair and you can find very affordable ones at many places that sell hair care products. Prices for good ones are as low as $15
Whats a good permanent hair color product for relaxed hair?
I want to dye my hair honey blonde and the products ive used in the past just dye my hair a little brown, What product can get my hair completely blonde?
Honestly, I would go to a hair salon to do it. And I can tell you right now that relaxed hair and lightening your hair to blonde would not mix. From experience. I can tell you that there will be some breakage, depending on what condition your hair is in now. But yeah, if you want to go blonde, do go to a salon to get it done.
When you do it at home, I can tell you that all those store brand lightners = no good. Plus when people go blonde at home, they don't understand that your hair has to go through different stages to lighten up. It'll go from black/brown, to orange, to brassy, to corn yellow (the 10 stages of decolorizing your hair) to reach the foundation color. And then you might need to add a toner to get the blonde you desire, depending on what you want. It's a long process, troublesome and confusing. So that's whay I say just go to the salon and have them do it all.
Can white people use hair "relaxing" products on their hair? If so, what kind? And what exactly does it do?
My hair is a bit frizzy and poofy...
For you, I would try the Garnier Fructis products..My hair tends to be very frizzy and poofy but after using the Moisture Guard line..it is the softest it has EVER been and this is from someone who gets regular relaxers and has spent obscene amounts of money on special shampoos and other products to get my hair to look good.
Also, if you do not have one already, invest in a good flat iron put out by Chi..They are the absolute best and when you flat iron your hair, it is nice and straight and smooth..Be sure to get some sort of spray on heat protector so you don't burn your hair up..The iron can get quite hot.
Relaxing will damage your hair, but so does coloring and perming, using a hair dryer, flat iron, hot comb, and all the other shit women use on their hair. Get a deep conditioner. I used 40 volume bleach on my naturally dark brown hair to bleach it white before I colored it bright colors (pink, red, orange, purple, blue, etc.) and everyone I knew freaked out all the time and told me I was going to mess up my hair.
To be honest with you, most other caucasian women will tell you that you're going to mess up your hair if you do anything interesting with it. The vast majority of other caucasian women I know have incredibly boring hair- they won't do anything with it because they're afraid of damaging it.
If your hair is frizzy and poofy, a relaxer will straighten it and make it less frizzy. Depending on the texture of your hair, you might want to use a different product instead. If your hair is relatively thick, it will work fine. If your hair is thin, but frizzy and poofy, I would just use a flat iron and some leave-in conditioner instead.
Most hair product I use on my hair are too heavy and keep my hair from curling up, what are some good product?
I am an african american woman with naturally curly hair, but since i have been relaxing my hair for years it doesnt get as curly anymore. Also most product I use on my hair are too heavy and prevent my hair from curling up. What do i do to get my hair to curl up and not look lik a big wavy lion's mane?
Usually, a curl booster leave-in cream (Got2B) should work (use the shampoo and conditioner from the same line for the best effect). You can also use a curling iron to create a few curls when your hair is dry (take big sections and wrap them a few seconds around the iron, then separated the cooled down curl with your fingers).
What heat treatment product is good for black hair?
I like to wear my hair straight, but I know constant heat isn't good. I do condition regularly, but are there any good products for black hair (relaxed) that protect against heat?
Thanks!
By black, I am referring to the ethnicity not the color.
Thanks!
Luster's Pink Oil Moisturizing Lotion.
Will the 'mixed chicks' hair product work on relaxed hair?
I don't understand how it would since it's not supposed to be a chemical and a relaxer is....right?? I dunno.
I think it works but is usually for curly hair but you can try blended beauty is for relaxed hair also.:scroll down the page where they say relaxed hair they have product recommendation under the photo's

My girlfriend is mixed race and has her hair relaxed. What products should she use at home to maintain it?
I'm thinking of buying her some fancy hair products for Christmas but haven't got a clue which type of products to get!
Any ideas?
