The Barber Lounge a San Francisco Hair Salon Offers Flexible Spa Pricing PR Web (press release)
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 11, 2011
San Francisco's hair salon , Barber Lounge is offering "flexible spa pricing" to encourage people to pamper themselves even in a down economy. They offer three tiers of pricing: standard, off-peak and value. Days and times that are normally hard to fill with appointments are offered at a lower price. The new system will help ensure continuous business while providing clients with a great value.
"Hotels offer discounted rates during off-peak days and times. We like the idea, so we're doing the same thing with spa pricing," said Greg Griffin, owner of The Barber Lounge. "This means that from now on, you can get a massage, facial or signature French manicure nail service at up to half off the standard pricing during off-peak and value times." The schedule is continually updated and posted on the barber lounge website. http://www.barberlounge.com/flexible-spa-pricing-schedule.html

What kind of strategies would you use to market a hair salon & day spa?
If you were given the opportunity to market a hair salon & day spa who has a good reputation in your area, what would you do? Coupons, advertisement, free haircuts or visits to the day spa?
If you already have a good reputation, I wouldn't offer a discount. I feel that discounts and coupons can tend to make places look cheap or desperate. But there are many fun things you can do to attract more clientele, such as:
Create some fun packages/parties:
1. Girls Night In - plan/advertise a ladies night when you will serve wine/cheese, etc to all guests...encourage woman to bring friends and enjoy!
2. Charity night. Team up with a local charity and plan a "charity night" when you will donate a portion of the proceeds to the charity. Make sure that you send out a press release to all media outlets to promote this. Also, you may want to ask the charity to promote it.
3. Fund raising. Seek out local clubs which may be looking for fund raising ideas and offer them a gift certificate fund raiser.
4. Articles. Write an article pertaining to health and beauty. Make sure the last paragraph is "about the author" to ensure that you get your salon's name out there.
I am full of ideas...contact me if you would like more! My website is in the source list. I would be happy to help.
Good luck!
#2 Offer a service or product to make the spa different - Something that NOBODY else in the area offers.
#3 Price the services affordably but NOT too cheap. Determining the target market of a spa, the clientel obviously do not expect to get anything cheap. They will see it as"you get what you pay for"
I would like to know which are the rules to tip in hair salon/spa if the owner is who take cares of you?
I go to a Spa that is own by the husband and wife and they are the only two employees who always do my facials, hair, nails,etc... I am not sure if I should give them tip.
The rule i've been told is that you don't tip them anything. However I tip them anyway. It's one of those things that's to your discretion.
How do I open up a hair salon and daytime spa?
I'm in an entrepreneurship class and for our final exam we have to come up with a business plan and I want to open up a hair salon and daytime spa
well when you open up a salon you have to consult with the state board of cosmetology for your state then you need to follow the rules and regulations provided in your state....i would contact the board to get a booklit it will help with your project usually you can find it on your state website or you could call a beauty school....then a board inspector comes and inspects your shop then you can open then you need to makesure that you advertise and hire in some stylists with a clientle base already it would not be cool to sit there and stare at each other....these are just the basics you have to keep up on products and supplies and instruments especially in a spa....cotton files and products for hair go fast
- have a firm with this object of activity.
- manage very carefully your budget. make a plan.
- find a location. good placement. big enough for a spa.
- transform it (paint it, arange it, fix the problems to meet the higienic requirements and to make a nice enviroment)
- take all the authorisation (higienic ecological etc) from the authorities.
- buy cosmetic and spa equipment that meet your needs.
- Look for a massage specialist, a cosmetician, a fitness trainer, a dietetician. In my country they have to work minimum 6 months after speciality school before being employed.
- make a lot of publicity (internet, local tv radio, newspaper, brochures)
In big steps that's all I have to do. hope it will help you.
ps sorry I don't speak english very well.
Ever been to Sergio's Hair Salon & Spa in San Antonio, Texas?
Has anyone ever been to Sergio's Hair Salon & Spa in San Antonio, Texas? I am considering going there to get my hair and makeup done for my wedding? Anyone have any experience with this salon?
There are not as many of this chain as there once were. I love this place. One of the girls actually taught me how to lighten my hair so I didn't have to spend so much money on touch ups. I have had my hair done and nails done and a facial there. Great place. Really treat you nice. Very expensive.
I need to find a unique name for a hair salon and spa. Does anyone have any ideas?
The salon looks like a high end salon that belongs in the big city. The salon location resides between Boston and Providence and needs a unique simple setting name.

Would you consider teeth bleaching at a spa or hair salon?
Would this be a setting where you would consider having 'instant' teeth bleaching rather than at a detist's office.
Cost wise it would be $100, less expensive than at a dental office. I am considering this as new business option, it is now legal to do this type of bleaching at salons (I am a dental proffessional however) I am intrested to see if people think this is something they would do? Setting this up would cost approx $5000 so trying a little market research! Opinions appreciated.
I guess you're just asking for an opinion, but I wouldn't do that. It may be less expensive, but that's like an almost life long thing. I'd go to a pro. Who knows though, in a few years that might be the new thing? Going to a salon to get your teeth done. :S
Like, if a friend who did home made tattoos charged me $50 for an ankle tattoo that'd cost $100 at a great tattoo parlor, I'd have to save up for the shop... much more safe.
Any suggestions for a good and effective laser hair removal machine/salon/spa in the Seattle,WA area?
I've tried two laser types (calidora & palomar), but the hair keeps coming back. Let me know which worked for you?
popularly believed. Chronic constipation is one major cause,
the food we eat plays a very important role. You will have
to cut down the fried food, chocolates, cheese and aerated
drinks. Eat a lot of fresh fruits and green vegetables with
a lot of water. Instead of washing the face with soap, use
orange peel powder. Dry Orange peels in the shade for 4-5
days. Powder finely and store. Wash your face with this 2-3
times a day. It clears the face and feels very refreshing.
