Attleboro Entrepreneurs Open First Eyebrow Threading Shop Patch.com

Phuntsho Dema and her fiance Fernando Penogos of Attleboro said there was a need to bring the ancient Chinese technique of eyebrow threading to Attleboro and quietly opened the doors to DEMA Threading on Saturday.

Threading has become a trend at hair salons, which provide hair removal services, because threading pulls the hair from the root and is less painful than waxing.

"Threading is an ancient technique of removing and shaping eyebrows," Penogos said. "My fiance Phuntsho is the professional, she's the expert with 18 years experience in this."

The technique originated in India and spread to the Middle East before American women became interested in it and beauticians like Dema began to offer it.

Dema and her soon-to-be husband were shopping around for the right location to open DEMA Threading and saw the opportunity once the space at 33 County St., next door to Attleboro Jewelers and Tex Barry's , became vacant.

Hair Threading?

hiya, i'm thinking about trying the hair removal method of threading. Does anyone have any information about how i can do this, and also the disadvantages and advantages of it ?
thanks x

I have not done it myself, but my friends have gotten it done.

Pros: It removes hair in strips, not single hairs, like tweezing.
It is not time consuming.

Cons: Can result (like most hair removal methods) in small bumps and ingrown hairs.

I have my eyebrows threaded at my nail salon, and it is quite painful. However, I always have a reaction to the waxes and threading is much more precise. It also lasts longer than waxing.

I always get my eyebrows threaded. Threading is good when you are only removing small amounts of hair because it would take a very long time to say thread the hair on your legs. It is a lot less painful than twee-zing and waxing. I definitely recommend it. Just make sure you go to someone who is experienced and know what they are doing. Many Indian people who work at beauty salons know how to thread.

What are the long term effects of hair threading?

Does it make hair grow in less frequently/finer? How long does your hair have to be before you can get it rethreaded??

basically the samething as waxing except its better because it doesn't pull on the skin so its better to thread ur facial hair.

I dont think there is much side effects to hair threading. i do get my eyebrows threaded and prefer it much better than waxing..

Very short hairs can be easily be threaded.

Facial Hair Threading- Is this a lifetime commitment?

I am considering having facial hair threading. My entire face is very hairy and I have dark hair. I'm concerned that this is something I will have to do for the rest of my life. Does the hair continue to grow back longer if I don't keep it up? The lady that threads my eyebrows told me that some ppl do it for one time events but I'm not sure how true this is. Does anyone have some insight on this?

threading is better than waxing because the hot wax i guess can damage your skin. i have threaded and waxed, both of them painwise are the same so dont worry about that. everytime you thread it grows back lighter

Rather than the treading, maybe you should try lazier hair removal. While this does cost more, it is permanent after so many sessions. Plus a little less painful I would think.

yeah one time event could do as many times as you want... i keep on doing it whenever i need it....

Where can I buy a facial hair threading machine?

I do not mean "electrilysis"
my wife was at a chinese palor and the estat. there changed to this method using thread and a hand held machine!

lol this is funny! no offense i dont think u can by a facial hair threading machine. you can go to a speical salon [i would suggest a indian boquet thats where my mom gets hers done] and they can do it for u. Im sorry if i offended u if they're is such a thing as a facial hair threading machine

How do you do threading (remove hair with thread)?

How do you remove and tidy your eyebrows/body hair using thread?

You have to loop a piece of string/thread and twist it. Then you put it against the part of your skin where you want to remove hair-you finger should be in the loop and move the twists back and forth. The twists will pluck any hairs in that area.

Threading isnt the most painless method of hair removal! before I go on I suggest getting some wax strips from the chemist or veet!
But to answer your question, you can use normal sewing thread, make it into a loop big enough so you can hold it with your finger and thumb with both hands, twist it several times, then use a syncronised pulling action so that the twisted part of the thread moves up and down then quickly remove the unwanted hair. It is difficult to explain but I hope you get the general idea.

Where can I buy the string for threading hair?

For threading eyebrows, upper lip etc. where do I buy the string from? What stores and what kind of stores?

I'm not sure, but you can use normal thick string.

Hi, What is the best method to remove facial hair. I find threading very painful. Is there any method other?

Hi, What is the best method to remove facial hair. I find threading very painful. Is there any method other than threading. If so what tools or creams are available in the market does the job without much pain. Also do let me know if anybody used that "Emjoy Tweeze " I saw the ad on TV. What's your feedback on that? Is it useful , i mean pain & scar free & things like that. Thanks for your time & response :)

Electrolysis. It's the only method of hair removal that's allowed to advertise as permanent hair removal

Or check this website

How do you do that threading hair removal??

Can someone explain how to set up the string around your fingers for threading and how to move your fingers to perform the actions with the thread. Thanks

it took me 3 weeks to perfect the performance and unfirtunatly u cnt just tell sme1 u hve 2 show them. but i'll try.

hold the end of the string in your mouth and take the string to the side with ur right hand or left (depending wat hand u rite wid) and wind wit hthe two fingers on the other hand. then just sort of push down wid ur thunm and up. it takes practise and patience, but watching is the best way to learn. hope that helped!

While I am on Accutane, can I use threading to remove facial hair?

I know I'm not allowed to wax, but I wonder if I can thread. For those of you who do not know what threading is, it's just plucking hairs with a thread.

im not sure but threading works pretty much the same way as waxing so im guessing its better that u dont

Is threading as a way of hair removal bad for your skin?

I have been using threading as a way of hair removal on my face for about 2.5 years.
I normally would get this large amount of small pimple looking bumps (im pretty sure they are pimples) on all over my face if im exposed to heat after threading. Not to mention my face just heats up anyway making it reallly hard to avoid getting these bumps. Is that normal, can it be avoided? Most of all is this method of hair removal bad?

I have suffered from the facial hair thing since I was a teen. I tried everything and even scared my skin with waxing. Recently I discovered a new product that removes the hair painlessly forever. It's been 4 weeks so far and I am stubble and hair free. For me even if the hair comes back a little this product is worth it, it gets kind of embarrassing when you have to shave more than your husband.

Hope it works for you. Good Luck!
