'Jersey Shore' cast adapted to Florence, Italy but missed hair products, GTL ... New York Daily News

Forget the beautiful architecture, exorbitant amounts of fresh pasta and pizza or cobblestone streets rich with history.

Three very important things were missing in Florence, Italy, and it didn't take long for the "Jersey Shore" cast to spot them.

Gym, tan and laundry.

Back home in their familiar wood-and-leopard-print beach house in Seaside Heights, the gang had a chance last week to reflect on their visit to the ancestral birthplace of the guido culture they so loudly proclaim.

Among this season's big questions: Can you be an icon of an Italian-American worldview without a summer tan?

"We didn't really get to do GTL because the gym was an hour away and the tanning salon was a nail salon and the laundry was past a whole lot of cobblestones," Mike (The Situation) Sorrentino told reporters summoned for a state-of-the-shore report.

"They didn't have breakfast in Italy," Sorrentino said. "I mean, they didn't even have bagels in Italy!"

hair.........?

Ok.
So my hair is this very wavy almost curly hair.
And all i need tis the cheapest, junkiest curling iron to go to perfect ringlets.
When my hair gets longer, will it be curlier or straighter?
I heard that if your hair is curly naturally, it's straight when it's short (down to your shoulders)
So if my hair is wavy will is stay wavy?
or will it curl?

The simple answer is that hair is heavy, the longer the hair grows, the less curl or wave, but it will always have some degree of curl or wave. That is unless you have extremely tight curls, then it just balloon out like a circus clown.

It should curl!

no worries girl! my hair is naturally curly, it's almost 3foot long now and its got waves. It curls like crazy wen it gets wet though.
I Luv It! its so pretty

I heard that too. My hair was always very wavy and my friend told me that if I cut it short it will be straight so I did. Now my hairs very long and is curly first and then when I get up to go to school is wavy. SO I really don't know what to believe anymore. Don't cut it though. It makes no difference. =)

my hair was straight when it was short and when it got past my shoulders it got frizzy curly and i would try and curl it but it would get frizzy again and the curls would not stay it looked terrible. so then i just decided to straightened it and it works much better. Plus you could get shampoo and hair products that work great.

hair????????? >:(?

my hair is natrually frizzy!!
how do i prevent it without having to buy expensive hair products all the time?
and i need some hair does because which ever hair style i try it always goes frizzy!
plzzzzzzzzzz help??

try the green sun silk for frizzy hair... you can buy it at wal mart and it works great
try blowing it out after putting that product in it.. mine never goes frizzy if i use that and then use a flat iron on it to make it completely smooth

hope this helps

my hair does that too...A LOT!!! all i have to do is put it in a clip and then when i take the clip out my hair is striaght and silky!

Corn rose hahahahah
or you can french braid your hair at all times
but if I were you I would go to the hair salon and get
it straightened.

i have the sAME problem
I use panteen conditioner and i blow dry AND sleep on it
the next day i straighten it and its much flatter and better and less frizzy

buy herbal essences products.

i am a hairstylist and my suggestion would be to get some smooth and sleek products... you can get these at regular stores if you dont want to go to a salon .. also maybe try to flat iron your hair... i would get some spray starch if you plan on flat iron your hair alot it will keep it from getting damaged by the flat iron... flat ironing will smooth the hair and temporarily mold those hair follicles down smoother...good luck..

If your hair is naturally frizzy you need to find a style that works along with the curl in your hair. If you don't want to use too many products you need to find a hairdresser that understands your hair. Sometimes layers help to control the hair, and sometimes it helps to have heavy layers so that the weight of the hair helps to pull out the curl. Without seeing your hair it is very difficult to know which of the two will work.
I'm a hairdresser with naturally frizzy hair, and I do understand the problem. I use Matrix Sleek shampoo and conditioner followed with John Frieda Fizzees if I am having a really bad hair day.
Hope this helps

--------> Hair <----------?

I am looking for a good hair straightener that won't extremely damage my hair and will straighten well. I am currently using a cheap Durabrand one from WalMart and it makes my hair straight but really damages it and makes it frizzy. If anyone knows of a good hair straightener that I could get then that would be great :)

I would suggest a Revlon. It is about 30-40 dollars but it works just as good as a chi, for my hair actually better. The Chi is just a brand. You can get Revlon anywhere and it doesn't damege your hair at all. Hope this helps:).

I would really suggest a Chi, its really expensive but its the best straightner out there.
Hope this helps :)

Use the Wet2Straight straightener ....you can straighten your hair wet and it dries while doing so.It keeps my hair straight all day without any damage

Well all Flat-irons damage ur hair but i use the flat-iron by Vidal Sassoon,it doesn't use alot of heat but it works! Maybe your using to much heat. I got this from Wal-mart! Hope it helps! : )

All straightens damage hair the same. You won't find one that damages less then another. You can't stop damage. Use a Heat Protector, It protectors your hair to a point. to the straight Iron, A GHD is good.

Firstly no wet2straight flat iron!!! I cannot stress this enough. When hair is wet it is very fragile, so when you use a metal plate (which wet2straight is instead of ceramic) it will literally fry the ends off of your hair, leaving those little springy hairs at your crown area.

You need to be using a thermal protectant like Aveda's Damage Control, or Ion (the sally's brand) has a thermal protectant spray as well. I would recommend a spray rather then a cream which can make your hair oily looking. Hold the spray 10-12" away from your head.

A very good company to buy from is Helen of troy, or Golden hot, or Cortex (with cortex don't pay over $90 for the iron)

Make sure you are actually getting a real 100% ceramic plate not the painted ceramic layer that cheaper products have.

i would not get the wet2straight... i had 2 and they both broke after a couple of months. the Chis also break after a year. if i were you i would go on this website.... http://www.folica.com/appliances/straightener.htm the top two are the Sedu and the Solia. i would get the Solia because it is cheaper and works just as well as the Sedu

Hair>????????????????????????????????

I have thought about getting hair extensions and doesn't sound like a very good idea.
So i am getting clip on hair extensions.
Does anybody know where i can buy them, any good websites selling them and how much they cost>??????????

U can go to salons oulets ...ect ... you can buy the hair there ..I suggest human hair only!!!
than they sell the clips for alittle extra ...its easy to sew on and looks very natural! ;)

jessica simpson and her stylist ken paves make these new clip in extensions that are supposed to be really good. i put a link to them below so you can check them out. i'm pretty sure most hair salons carry them. and i think they're about $85-$100. that's kind of a lot, but i hear they're worth it. they come in a bunch of different styles and colors too!
oh, and the brand is called "hairdo"

link below:

or try this one:

Hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!&?

How do u do ur hair cute

Pony tail. Up in a clip with some hanging down. Straight. Curly. Waves put in with a curling iron. Pin the top and sides up and leave the rest down, curl the rest. Wear it all down. And that about covers it! :)

i like my hair striaght and sometimes curly

Here are some ideas. When you put your hair in a pony tail, put a cute ribbon in it to give it a different style or part it more on the side or part it in zigzags and curl it or something. I am sure you could look up some web sites online to find some better tips than this.. Sorry it isn't that good. =)

I always straighten it!

hey Fae!!! Remember me? I am one of your contacts!!!
To answers your question, I have to say that i usually wear mine in a REALLY high ponytail. Sometimes I get colored extensions.... but if I am wearing my hair down, I like it a little wavy...

hair <----?

ohh-kay so my hair is thick, and straight,and long like about to my elbow.i love selena gomez's hair,but i think she straigtens it everyday right?i dont want to deal with that, so i was thinking about thinning my hair, with thinning shears not a razor.i wanted to cut it like this http://i10.tinypi c.com/67gy9lk.jpg but longer, maybe boob length, or i might just thin it a bit,and get it done like selena's i could use some help finding pictures of selena's hair, or pictures of hair that is layered,and has side bangs, not just long layers,but not too too choppy.any other suggestions are welcomed.{Best answer will be chosen =]]}
http://i10.tinypic.com/67gy9lk.jpg

that link should work, for the picture of the hair that i wanted.

selena gomez does notttt straighten her hair right =/
she always has something sticking out,
its messed up.
it annoys me!!
=P
yeah i like that picturee but dont thin it out from the top beacause then you'll get fly aways, and you dont want to deal with that either!
just thin it out from the bottom and you'll be fine!
when getting the top part of your hair layered, you would have no choice but to straighten it everyday!

yea thats a nice cut...my friend had thick straight long hair too and cut it like that...it was really nice

What hair color dye damages your hair the less?

I want to color my hair but i need a hair dye that damages my hair very little or nothing at all cuz my hair tends to fall a lot and for that matter i have some frizzy hairs. My hair is black and thick and i want to color it chocolate brown. Any suggestions on a really good hair dye and where I can get it?

I assume you don't want to go to a salon...so, any one that does not have ammonia in it and non-permanent will be perfectly good. This is offered by many makers - Loreal , Clairol....to name a few. You just put it on..wait about 25 minutes...wash it out and voila...the new you! Have fun but note you will have to redo it about every 6-8 weeks.

What are good hair products to use for emo hairstyling?

I really want emo hair. And I'm wondering for females what the best products to style this hair that aren't to expensive.
1. Hair straightener for medium to short hair. $
2. Hair gells and hair sprays. $
3. Hair protection against hair straighteners. $$
Please try to have the prices listed and the brand and stuff.
Thanks!

Answer Please!

1. My hair is medium length, and I got my straightener from Rite Aid since I'm not rich and all. A decent straightener from stores like Target, Walmart, and Rite Aid should do fine. Just don't buy straighteners under 20 dollars.

2. Hair Gel...I suggest you not to use it unless you want to spike up the back of your hair. It makes your hair look very stiff, not to mention greasy. There is this AWESOME hairspray called 'Mink'. They don't sell these at stores anymore, but you can get them from Amazon.com. (Link is in the source) Well, Wallgreens supposedly have them, but I never saw them there. These hairspray work very well, and I have been using it for two years. They don't make your hair look stiff at all (in fact, it leaves your hair look naturally soft and silky), leave no white stuff behind, and gives a shine to your hair. Mink is around $3.50 The shipping is about 5 dollars, so it would be around 9 dollars if you buy it from online. If not, I recommend Bedhead, which is around 11 dollars. It's a little expensive, but it works pretty good, though not as good as Mink.

3. Nexxus Heat Protexx, end of question. It's a little expensive (13 dollars for a small bottle) but it's the best sh!t ever. If not, try Beyond The Zone, it's about 7 bucks, and you can get them from Sally's Beauty Supply or online.

Black hair:How long will it take for my hair to go natural?

I've been wearing a relaxer in my hair almost 11 years because of my mother's choice to wear my hair this way.I've been getting my hair professionally done.I want to go natural some day and give up relaxers. My hair is long, past my shoulders but it's really damaged. I want to bring out my natural beauty and embrace it. How long does it take for hair to go natural?

I went natural in early July of 2008 and I love it! I've noticed that my hair is growing back thicker and stronger, and it's no longer breaking off, so it's definitely healthier! You will be natural as soon as you cut off all the permed hair, so it depends on you. If you decide to cut it all off today then you will be natural today. For most naturals, being natural means not having any chemicals in your hair (sans hair dye), so as soon as the chemically treated hair is gone then you are 100% natural. Your relaxer will not revert back to your natural hair so you do have to, at some point, cut if all off. When you do this is up to you and how long you want your natural hair to be before you do the BC (big chop or big cut).

I decided to go natural for the same reasons you mentioned. The perm was burning my head and causing scabs, and days later my head was still stinging from the perm. I decided at the last minute to get all the perm cut off instead of getting a touch-up. I now have about 1-2 inches of a curly TWA (teeny weeny afro). I was permed for about 13 years, first perm was at 13/14 y/o, so I remembered what my natural hair looked like before I started perming. My hair was also breaking off badly because of neglect - I hated getting touch-ups (obviously), and I hated always having to condition my scalp. With natural hair I only have to apply the moisture to my hair and not my scalp.

The longer you've been permed increases your chances of having what is called "scab hair." This is hair that is still affected by years of perms. Scab hair is rough to the touch and very dry and icky looking; it's brittle, too. So, if you have scab hair then it could take several months, up to a year or longer, before you start seeing your true hair texture; You might have just a few patches of scab hair or your whole head might be filled with it. With approximately 13 years of perms I have a lot of scab hair, but I'm slowly seeing my hair change textures and this is truly a fascinating sight to behold. As a child I had wavy hair (if you're familiar with hair types then it's a 2 a/b hair type, I'm not mixed with anything, BTW) and as my real hair texture comes in I'm beginning to see bigger curls (or waves, too early to tell). Everyone does not experience scab hair, but if you find patches of your hair that is very dry and rougher looking than other parts of your hair then it could be scab hair. I've put in the sources section some websites so you can learn more about becoming natural. Motowngirl.com is my favorite and very informative.

Among weightier issues, Obama tackles fashion and hair at APEC

Charles Dharapak / AP

Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard, left, and U.S. President Barack Obama, right, laugh as they brush their hair during a group photo during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Kapolei, Hawaii on Nov. 13. Also in the picture are Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, center front, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, top left, South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, top center, and Mexican Economy Secretary Bruno Ferrari, top right.

Now that Silvio Berlusconi is out of the picture, who is going to put the fun back into international diplomacy? Judging by his appearances at recent photocalls in New York City, Cannes and on Sunday in Hawaii, Barack Obama could be that man.

According to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser:

At one point, Gillard swiped at her hair and made an undecipherable comment. Obama then gestured toward his own head of hair and said, “Me, too,” to laughter from the other APEC dignitaries.

A conversation between Obama and Gillard could be overheard with talk of grass skirts and coconut bras before Chilean President Sebastian Pinera Echenique asked, "Where are the Hawaiian shirts?"

Obama replied: "We are ending that tradition."

There had been some speculation that the aloha shirts were scrapped to avoid the appearance of world leaders acting frivolous during a time of economic austerity. Asked about the decision, Obama said leaders were given an aloha shirt, "And if they wanted to wear the shirt I promise you it would've been fine. But I didn't hear a lot of complaints about us breaking precedent on that one."

He said he had looked at past family photos, "and some of the garb that had appeared previously, and I thought: this may be a tradition that we might want to break."
