Sacramento, CA (PRWEB) October 03, 2011

The California College of Ayurveda Spa is now accepting appointments for 2012 therapies. At the Ayurvedic Spa, the client receives stress relief therapies under the guidance of panchakarma practitioner and life-style recommendations and stress management techniques by a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist. Ayurveda, the "knowledge of life", is the traditional healthcare system of India. It is based on the idea that a life of harmony is the basis for all optimum health. Ayurveda believes that where there is harmony there is health and where there is disharmony there is disease. Thus, Ayurveda is the science of creating harmony between a person and their environment.

There doesn't seem to be any locally.

The Hotel Ropotamo SPA is in Starozagorski bani near Stara Zagora isn't too far. The Romans settled the area for the thermal springs.

These sites list a number of Spa Resorts, but none are very close to Yambol: http://www.visitbulgaria.net/en/pages/spa_and_wellness.html#

Has anyone been to Skin Health Spa in Machester? What did you think about yout treatment?

havent been but Im guessing u work there...............

What is the best way to learn alternative health techniques and practices?

I have always been extremely interested in alternative health techniques and treatments. I am currently in a very good job that I am not really crazy about. I would like to move into the alternative health field and would like to eventually open a health food store and small health spa. I know it is a process but I want to know where I can start. As far as I know (and I could be wrong) there is no school to go to learn alternative health. I don't know where to start learning and how. Also for the learning process I need to work around my full time job as I don't have the option to not work as I need the income. I really want to start learning about this field and just need some suggestions on where and how to start. Is there perhaps a way to be like an apprentice to an alternative practitioner?

What about some books from a health store?

An even better start is a web search in Yahoo for "alternative health techniques" that will yield at least 412 results including overviews of alternative health techniques and stacks of other useful information for you.

Another useful search in Yahoo for "alternative health practices" will yield at least 2,888 results.

I am a PA-C and I practice medicine...... and I am open to adding alternative medicine.....as are the physicians I work with. The problem with education in alternative medicine is it is not regulated in ways as the study of medicine is. Therefore......you can get quackery. In some states naturopathic physicians are legal, and they attend medical school in this particular way....for as long as other physicians do. The learn-by-mail-at-home schools (like Clayton's) is expensive and not accredited by any governing body of worth and I am suspect of the curriculum. The better schools have to be attended in person. Andrew Weil (a great doctor in alternative medicine) has a school and program....expensive....the classes need to be in person....but authentic in content. (His books are a good start)Take a college level class in biology, or nutrition, or anatomy and physiology for a good basis of knowledge. Some community colleges actually have classes in herbs (our local college does). Massage Therapy is legit. and gives a good basis of knowledge. Medicine....alternative or otherwise....is never taught these days legitimately in apprentice fashion. There are some pretty good alternative health magazines.....just do a search. But I recommend a good basis of knowledge of the sciences that are taught on a college level....it gives you more of a knowledge to sort through what is real and what is quackery.

You can apply for financial aid, and go to massage therapy school. Massage school is 5 to 9 mos. Starting pay is 60 to 200 dollars an hour!!!! Massage is the best alternative medicine. You can learn massage, aromatherapy, stone therapy, reflexology, alternative medicine, history of massage. Massage school is an excellent place to start. I learned a lot in massage school. Go ahead give it a try good luck. I promise you wont regret it.

Health Spa in or near Hereford?

Can anyone recommend a good, inexpensive Health Spa in, or near Hereford, where a husband and wife can go together and can chose what treatments they want, (not have to go for the full day thing)

There's an alternative health spar here in Ledbury. Have a look at the link below. Jill is a nice woman, very spiritual and into many relaxation techniques etc. Have a look at the link below.

Worth a go if you are ever over here, its only 14 miles away!

You have 2 choices, either Holme Lacy House or the new one that is situated by the "Starting Gate" Beefeater and Travel Inn, I can't think of the name of it, however it is quite pricey, I would go to Holme Lacy house, I go with my Mum, it's lovely, ring directory enquiries for the number.... and relax!

Where do you receive you best health care treatments?

Do you prefer to receive you health enhancing care at an office or a spa? At a retreat or in your neighborhood? What health care treatments do you use to 'feel better'?

I receive them at home. I eat right, I exercise, and so on. I don't need anyone else to help.

Reflexology is best one according to my experiences and knowledge, i my self qualified Reflexologist.

I don't go to a spa or office. I read books on health care. I talk to people with lots of experience in natural healing. These people guide me to the knowledge I need to take care of myself. Don't rely on others to solve the health issues that you create in yourself. Learn how to take care of yourself.

There's a nice looking day spa in Newton Mearns. I think it's on Ayr Road.

The virgin heath club Right next to the Citreon garage off the Finniston cut-off.

Oh and BIG D you are a very insulting person. I just hope you didn't mean that in a bad way cause that was just plain ignorance.

there is one in edinburgh but i cant remember where

Do you think my profession is for stupid people?

I'm a cosmetologist and I work in a health spa doing spa treatments like facials.Do people think this is a dumb profession.
honest answers only please

Some people may think that but I am sure they have no idea how difficult the test you have to take to get licensed is.

no i dont.

if you like working with people and are good at talking and stuff then its fine.

usually cosmetolegists are pretty so i think its fine.

as long as youre happy with it then its not stupid.

seems to me that hollywood wouldn't exists without cosmetologists.
i don't think anything else needs to be said. :)

no, there are a lot of people too lazy to get out of bed and work these days. cosmetologists make good money in the right spot. i really like my stylist and tip her well. if you like what you do and are happy, who cares what other people think?!

NO AND WHY WOULD U CARE? IF ITS SOMETHING U LIKE DOING, JUST DO IT! OBVIOUSLY ITS NOT A DUMB PROFESSION BECAUSE PPL GET FACIALS AND THEIR MAKEUP DONE ALL THE TIME. THATS AN AWESOME JOB!

No, many of them seem to be intelligent and they often seem to enjoy their job. There's nothing wrong with that.

No...and for the record it shouldnt matter what people think when it comes to choosing your profession. Its your life and you wanna do what feels right to you, puts the food on your table and pays your bill. A lot of professions wouldnt exist if people cared too much of what others thought.

If it was a dumb profession you wont have any customers or it wouldnt exist at all. Smart people are the one who see a need/niche and run away with it. So long as somebody out there is willing to part with their money for goods & services, somebody is going to be smart about it and get that money. The dumb ones are the one who say "I wouldnt do that!" and end up starving coz they dont have a job.

No. If you are following your own heart. To me, it is stupid for people to refuse to work. The day any person thinks she is smart is the beginning of becoming stupid. Like yourself but do not fall in love with yourself. Like a politician. It is a wise person who does what pleases her. Show me some body who calls another person "stupid" and I will show you an idiot. The test of who you are is your own self image and respect. You do not need to apologize for what you do. Work hard and treat customers in an honest way. Does not matter if you are working in NYC or a small town in the country. I guess you are only stupid if you say you are. Never say that! Never surrender your faith in your ability and treat people with fairness and respect.

What's dumb about it? A profession exists because there is a need or a want for it ... so you are fulfilling a need .

Like hair dressers, cosmetologist may have greater job satisfaction than many other kinds of work.

So, if you feel happy and dumb, read books, be willing to discuss interesting topics with clients, you'll be intelligent.

Some books:

"Expecting Adam," Martha Beck,
"The Great Divorce," C. S. Lewis,
"Soul Mates and Twin Flames," Elizabeth Clare Prophet,
"The Giver," Lois Lowry,
"Testimony of Light," Helen Greaves,
"Freakonomics," S. Levitt,
"Shakespeare in the Light of Sacred Art," Martin Lings,
"Nineteen Ways of Looking at Wang Wei," Weinberger,

Not stupid, just superfluous.

Any good Health Spa's in London?

Can anyone recomment a spa in London where we I can get massages and other treatments at a reasonable price?

Nicky Clarke...not sure about the prices but my sister worked there for several years. Top of the line spa.

Does anyone have any experience with a Spa/Resort in Bavaria Germany that you would recommend?

I am thinking about going at the end of October beginning of November and am looking for a resort in which I can get health and beauty treatments ,as well as, other physical activities such as hiking and swimming. I would also like to use it as a base for day touring such as Neuschwanstein Castle etc. I won't have a car unless I rent one. Is it necessary? Would love some sort of hotel/spa package. Of course accommadations and food must be good. Entertainment would be a plus. Not asking for much am I? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your thoughts?

InterContinental Berchtesgaden seems to have it all, you can check this link and watch the photo tour of the place. It looks wonderful amidst the Bavarian Alps. It's very well connected so probably you won't need to rent a car. This is my favourite part of Germany; not only because it's scenic, but because of the first class, yet calm and unobtrusive service.

I want my husband & I to get some kind of rejuevenation help cause we went through alot & need to improve our health. I was diagnosed with diabetes & he was with high blood pressure.
