No need to leave the kids at home with these family-friendly dining options San Antonio Express

San Antonians are lucky to have a wide variety of restaurants to choose from, but when you have small kids, sometimes your dining choices narrow down to “How fast is it?” (i.e., McDonald's) and “How loud can my kids be?” (i.e., if it doesn't have an outdoor playground, we aren't going).

It's nice to know that there are local restaurants that welcome children, are happy to oblige your requests, offer a kids menu and understand that they'll need to sweep the floor under your table when you're gone.

We've divided our list of kid-friendly restaurants into two sections: 1) Take the kids and relax; and 2) Seriously, your kids are welcome here.

Take the kids and relax

Alamo Café, 14250 U.S. 281 N., 210-495-2233 and 10060 I-10 W., 210-691-8827, offers a kids menu and crayons to color. The restaurant is family-friendly, so kids fit right in. You can go to alamocafe.com/YoungDefendersClub/index.asp and register your kids to join the Young Defenders Club , a frequent dining program that, after six kids meals, lets your child get one kids meal free.

Cheap ideas for a home spa party?

Cheap ideas for a home spa party?
im planning a spa party for a few of my friends here at my house, and i need a few ideas. we are all either 18 or 19 years old. any good and cheap ideas. thanx a bunch....
19 minutes ago - 3 days left to answer.

Make one of those face rubs with oatmeal, put cucumbers over your eyes.. massage each other, do each other's nails (feet included) possibly makeovers.. have cucumber-citrus infused water, have natural foods such as cantaloupe with the slices beautifully displayed

You should get buckets, and decorate them to make them pretty. Than fill them with warm water and soap, and soak your feet in them. Than paint your nails. Than do a massage train! its fun!

Fill the bath up, eat loads of curry and fart to your hearts content. Cheap and effective

If you go to Wal*mart they have a whole bunch of face masks and foot/hand scrubs and everything else. give eachother pedicures and manicures - you can get fake nails for these. most of this stuff is really cheap! have fun!

Which would you rather a home spa or makeup party?

If given a choice for an pre-holiday pampering home party, would you rather host a spa-theme event or a makeover type of party?

Make up is great but I think a home spa is better. Relieve people of the holiday stresses! Home spa all the way!

a home spa

a home spa.

home spa

I would say makeover.

spa all the way ( and water proof make up party ;) )

Have you ever been to a home spa party?

I'm invited to a home spa party. Have you ever been? What was it like?

Seeing that your id has "mommy" in it, I'm assuming you are not a child and you are going to an adult spa party. One thing to maybe be sure of is that the party is not a "ploy" to get you in to see some sort of product. I went to a "Spa Night" and it was a Mary Kay party in disguise.
Hopefully it will not be that way and you will be pampered with manicures, facials, pedicures, massages, and champagne.
Have fun!!

never been, sounds boring.

i had one a few years ago, when i turned 12.
it was funn :)
we did facials, makeovers and manicures/pedicures.
:)

Great at home spa treatments for spa party?

I'm 13, and I'm having a spa/primping party with a bunch of my friends to get ready for our friends bat mitzvah. What are some great, easy DIY spa treatments that I can set up for us 2 do? Please help!

You can make body/face scrubs with yogurt and sugar. They taste good too. Also try to set up something where they can steam their faces, to open pores. I usually hold a towel across the back of my head with my face over steaming water. You can make moisturizing masks with banana and egg. If you all make it together it might be fun but be careful of food fights :)

http://youtube.com/profile_videos?user=WyethDigital watch those videos (the ones related to spa stuff) they have videos JUST FOR a spa party.. perfect right?

pay one of those calming cd"s with candles, you can do hot rocks, soak your feet in warm water, hair masks, use those turbie twist thing to keep hair up and off face while being treated with facial masks.you could probably buy cheap slippers too for everyone, just some cheap easy ideas.

HELP!!!! im having a spa party@home next SAT, & i dont know what 2 buy & how to get my room 2 look like a spa?

HElP!!!! i'm having a spa brithday party at my house next staurday, and i DO NOT know what to buy, or how to make my room look like a spa, please i really need help, HELP!

The best idea of all times: Having a team party, without thinking how to do it!!!!

Woohoo!!!!

One word.... White.
White robe, white towels, white slippers etc.

Get towels?

Lots of candles, drape nice sheets over the furniture...on the walls too if possible. Play lots of new age CDs. Have trays of cut fresh fruit, glasses of healthy juices and serve spring water in champagne glasses (still and sparkling). Have people bring a robe and slippers. Have lots of fashion magazines around too.

Make a relaxing environment for your guests. If you can, move away the sofas and let your guests lie or sit on the floor with comfy cushions. Otherwise just sit on the sofas. You know the kind of candles which float on water? Get a glass bowl and put it around the room. Put some fresh flowers in a vase near to the place you are having the party. Put on some relaxing music on and goooo party!!

You're having an actual spa come in and do this, right? check with them to make sure, but I'm pretty sure that they bring all the stuff you need - even towels, robes, CD's, candles, oils, spas, massage tables, etc. Definitely clear your room of any clutter to make it easier on the workers from the spa. You shouldn't need to buy anything

I am looking to do some sort of in home spa party business...?

What are some good companies. I dont want to do the typical avon, mary kay, etc, because the market is saturated. What are some others? Are there any natural skin care lines that offer the in home consultants?

There are a lot of them and once you choose one you will then think the market is saturated with that one. Go with something you love and believe in No one has a problem with a McDonald's or Wal-Mart on every corner why do people always think the market is saturated in direct sales. If you choose a product you like and believe in you can do well if you work at it.

The Body Shop has an at-home division with 4 party themes that each feature a natural skin care, body care, or makeup line. The business kit this month is 50% off, and a great deal. It comes with all the supplies you need to get started, and you earn back the price of the kit in under 6 weeks. The line is 100% natural and vegetarian.

The training is easy and can be done by anyone, regardless of experience. The program is so easy, you don't have to keep inventory, or memorize any lines for sales.
If you're interested, let me know by emailing me at narawen_greenleaf_26@yahoo.com. The market isn't nearly as saturated with these consultants as with other at home businesses.

I SELL LIA SOPHIA AND I LOVE IT... IT IS A JEWELRY COMPANY... CHECK OUT MY WEBSITE AT WWW.LIASOPHIA.COM/MACEVES AND GET IN CONTACT WITH ME IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MORE INFO.

THE BAD PART ABOUT THE BODY SHOP IS IT IS AVAILABLE IN ANY MALL. NOT GOOD FOR YOUR BUSINESS... ESPECIALLY STARTING OUT. LIA SOPHIA STARTER KIT IS $150 BUT MOST ADVISORS WHO SIGN YOU UP WILL PAY FOR IT. SO YOU SIGN UP FOR FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LIA SOPHIA HAS ALSO REFUSED TO PUT THERE PRODUCT IN RETAIL STORES, THIS IS GREAT FOR US ADVISORS. AND IT ALSO HAS A VERY POPULAR AND WELL KNOWN CELEBRITY COLLECTION.

I own my one all natural mineral makeup line and I will soon be offering all natural skin care.

I have a few resellers now who purchase my products and resell it for profits. Also, you can purchase the products unlabeled and start your 'own' line. Just print out labels yourself and stick them on!

The skin care i will be introducing next month will be for all skin types and will include, blemish remover, whipped shea moisturizer, facial toner, green clay soap, day serum (with high spf), night serum (with restoring anti aging properties), and polishing sugar scrub. All will be simple, all natural, and chemical and preservative free.

I agree 100% with SandraD....if you have passion for something you are setting yourself up for success! I love Body Shop...and I have never shopped for the items in a store...I love supporting consultants!!

I work from home and enjoy it! There is a new company that is so legitimate that Macy's, Target, Best Buy, Apple, Home Depot, and over 1,000 other popular stores are participating in it and backing it up. Many people don't know about it yet because it's only about 7 months old. It is exploding!

I started a very simple home based business with a new international company that is 100% free and totally different. It's legitimate and not like anything else around. It's not MLM or an Affiliate and it's 100% scam free. There is nothing to sell, no meetings, and tools are free. It's an honest company with good morals and we are trying to help everyone who wants to work at home and make some extra money. Again it's free so you have nothing to lose. Let me know if you want more info.

I want to have a at home spa birthday party for my daughter, any ideas on what I should do?

She's turning 5, we're inviting 4 other little girls around her age and I know girls love to play dress up. I was looking for some kid friendly "spa" treatments.

OHHHHHH - when my daughter turned 7 we had a spa party and it was awesome!!! We had 3 “stations” - one was the facial station where you got washed, massaged and your choice of a mask applied, 2nd station was the manicure station where you had your hands soaked then massaged and your choice nail polish (when then they got to keep), lastly we had a pedicure station where we had 3 of those pedicure feet bath things - they soaked for 5 min and then got polish applied after a mini massage.
I had 2 of my friends come over so each of us to run a station so the girls didn’t have to wait around to have stuff done. After the girls were all relaxed and done with their treatments they popped in a movie and cuddled up with blankets and sleeping bags. After the movie the ones that were still awake talked til the fell asleep.
We gave out gift purses with their nail polish, a mini bottle of water, the headband that kept their hair back while the facial and a CD that my daughter made with all their favorite songs.

It was a little more expensive but worth it cuz we all had a great time.

You can make Avocado and flour skin masks. Just mash them up and put on the girls faces. It's safe and will make the girls laugh at how funny their faces look!

Get fake jewelry, some dress up, some nail polish, lots of cute things for the hair & make up

You may want to check with the other mom's before putting "chemicals" on their children. I would be upset if I picked my girls up and they were wearing make-up, nail polish etc....I think dress-up clothes, jewelry, tea parties and things like that are more appropriate for a 4-5 year old....

how much guests pay for at-home spa party?

For a bachelorette party, how much (if any) should the guests pay for these services?

It used to be that the hostess pays for the entire party costs, but I've been to quite a few bachelorette parties where the party contribution was $60-80!!!

I was hoping to have a stripper-cise instructor and some at-home spa services (mani/ped/massage) and do-it-yourself facials. I think the above costs are ridiculous, but can I ask the ladies to pitch in? How much? Should I say $20-30pp or just say spa services are paid by you? Can I go higher on that contribution without being rude?

I would like your opinions, thank you!

"Guests" don't pay for an event. They are GUESTS.

If you are going to have a bachelorette party and you can't afford it on your own, talk to the rest of the bridal party about expenses...that is something that the MOH and the bridesmaids should work together on. However, other guests do NOT get charged. Would you attend a birthday party, then pay for your cake and ice cream?

Some guests will give money to the MOH after an event like a bachelorette party, but that is totally up to them. There is no obligation for them to pay.

Charging people to attend a party you are throwing would just be rude, and if I were the bride, and I found out my guests were charged to come celebrate with me, I would be mortified.

Home spa party sleepover help?

My daughter is inviting 3 friends (9 and 10 year olds) over for her birthday and wants to have a home spa party. She knows she wants to do nails, hair, make-up, facials, etc. but she doesn't want to tell the girls, "Ok. We're going to do facials now." She wants everyone to do it, but doesn't want to be in charge or have an adult in with them because they'll probably gossip. How do we host a spa party? What do we need? Thanks!

I'm a party organizer and a wedding planner. I would suggest that you help her make a big to do list for the party and post it on the wall so they don't need an adult or anybody to tell them what to do.

to make the list more exciting or more desirable to look at why not add colors and feathers. Making it more like an art list of things to do.

They would sure love this.

Best of luck.

at home spa party for 12 year old? Best answer gets 10 points!?

This year I am thinking about having an at home spa slumber party for my birthday!! We have a deck with some lounge chairs so I was thinking about have the fatials done out there! Get some bowls of hot water, some hot towels and do eachothers nails! Get some food like fruit smoothies, mini chocolates, mini mints , and my cake to look like this http://coolest-birthday-cakes.shippony.c... .... we also have a juckuzee so we could do rotations and every1 can bring there swim suit and get a chance to get in it - with flowers or candles floating around in it!!! Do you think this is a good idea also If we did this ourself around how much do you think it would cost!?!?!

for goody bags what would be inexpensive that we could put in it to stick with the theme? Is this a good idea?!?! Thank you- its an at home spa party, 5 or 6 girls + me so 6 or 7 girls!!!

DO YOU LIKE THE CAKE? DOES THE PARTY SOUND FUN? WHAT FOR THE GOODY BAGS? WHAT KIND OF DECOR? AROUND HOW MUCH SHOULD THIS COST??????????
cake = http://coolest-birthday-cakes.shippony.com/images/theme/fashion-glamour/spa/birthday-cakes-to-make-01.jpg
I HAVE AND I WAS JUST WONDERING WAT OTHERS THINK
YAY! I JUST FOUND OUT ... THAT MY MOM HAS A FRIEND WHOS DAUGHTER IS A PROFETIONAL AT DOING NAILS! AND MY MOM IS GOING TO SEE IF SHE CAN COME TO MY PARTY TO DO EVERYONES NAILS!

long ago i did this for my 10th birthday.....that was about 5 years ago.....the cake pic did not load for me but in steed of the towels...try some of the face masks.& the facils are SUPER expensive, so i would go with the masks. the Jacuzzi is a GREAT idea! get flowers like carnations ( a cheep but beautiful flower!) trim the stems off, and lay them in the water, get them the day of the party. bubbles might dround them.Goody bags should consist of a sweet soap or body product. Try going to Bath and Body Works for the goody bags. Also Ulta has a great selection of lotions and individual masks for a somewhat cheep price. the food sounds great but the smoothies are overdone and take a lot of work. Try a big pitcher of water with lemon slices and cucumber slices. Encourche the other to drink it because u all will be dehydrate with the hot tub. to take off the masks, get a bowl with hot watter and a roll of paper towels. People dip the towels in the watter and wipe there faces with it. then just though them away! here is a recipes for one of the best old fashioned masks:

Honey and Oatmeal Face Mask
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon honey
instant oatmeal enough to make a paste
Mix all the above ingredients together with enough of the instant oatmeal to make a good paste consistency. Smooth this blend all over your face and neck. Leave on the face for 10-15 minutes and then rinse off with lukewarm water. Pat dry with a soft towel

the price savings should alow you to invite more of your friends and hope u have a good time at that party of yours!
