hot tub information?

I just got a hot tub and it appears to be leaking. I dont know what to do, it diddnt start leaking as far as i know until i added a bit more water to cover the neck and shoulder jets, could that be the problem or will I have to seal it up, plese help, thanks

If it didnt leak until you filled it over the top jets, then one or more of those is leaking.

Usually, these have a small gasket, on the backside of the shell, between the fitting and the shell. Most of these simply screw in from the front, so I would suggest trying to tighten them first. If there is still a leak, then you'll need to replace the gasket. Any spa dealership should be able to get the correct gasket for you.....worst case scenario, you could make one, or apply some silicone to the backside.

Most spas have removable panels, making it easier to get to hard to reach areas. You may be able to remove the panel, and see just which coupler is leaking.

Good Luck

I hope you used the installer recommended by the retailer you purchased it from; if it is leaking, a lot of warranties are voided if you installed it yourself.

Call the place you purchased it from, and ask them to take a look at it.

Hello. I am looking for information on buying a hot tub from Canspa?

I would preferably like a company with good prices and hopefully free delivery to keep the costs down as delivery is usually quite high on this size of product. Can anyone offer me any help?

Cupar Garden Centre have a good range of Canspa's. They have the full range and also allow you to download the Canspa brochure. You can 'take a tour' of Canspa spas here: http://www.cupargardencentre.co.uk/acatalog/spashowroom.html

And for prices you can go here: http://www.cupargardencentre.co.uk/acatalog/Canspa_Spas_-_Luxury_Bespoke_Spas_.html

I believe these are the lowest prices online in the UK and they also offer free delivery! Exactly what you wanted!

WOW!!! Those spas are way too much for what your getting!!!! I just looked at the link provided by the gentlemen above and about fell to the floor. That small aurora 752 SE spa here should sell for 1500 dollars. The 919E mold is so old and outdated I am amazed. I use to sell that spa for 2300.00 Right now you would be paying 16000 dollars for it. That is nuts.

All dealers should provide free delivery and set-up. OF course that will not include electrical hook up. Why not come to the USA get a spa and take it back with you. I wonder what the tax rate is? I know you could save alot of money. Heck I have a customer with a brand new spa sitting in their driveway they want to sell (Calspa). Apparantly it would be a 20k tub over there.

I am weary of Canspa since I have not been able to find out the details of their warranty. 10 year most likey only covers the shell. Fell free to email or IM Directly. Don't get taken to the cleaners.

I am going to start tomorrow finding out about an import/export license. Those prices blow my mind.

Does anyone have information on that portable hot tub? Is it worth the money?

Is it easy to bring with you camping?

The new 320ZX tub is the portable tub that's fun for the whole family. Pick it up at your nearest Walmart in the "non-existant" section for only $5500. THAT'S RIGHT! Only $5500!

it is worth the money and it is easy to go camping with

If it seems too good to be true....it IS!

no its not

Sorry, man- "camping" and "hot tub" do NOT go together.

If its the one they name "Soft tub" -- I heard it is good.

Where do I find information and laws pertaining to opening a tanning salon and hot tub spa in Michigan?

Where do I find out what permits/licenses I need and what sort of liability insurance type stuff???

you need to apply for bussiness license, you need health and fire inspections-see both for county codes

Where can I find self-help information on repairing hot tubs?

I have an Artesian Opal Hot Tub, a few years old, and am getting an error message. Others tell me that it means that I probably have a bad heater -needs to be replaced. But, I don't know.

Your error message could be from more than one thing, first of all is the tub circulating, ( are the pumps working), another thing, do you know if you have a 24 hr circulating pump, is your filter dirty , are you tripping your breaker, and last but not least , is the tub heating? the answers to these questions will help to diagnose the problem. (or it could also be your pressure switch) ?

I just bought a home with a hot tub. What do I need to know about getting it to work, cleaning it, etc.?

I just bought a home which was a foreclosure. Because of this, it was bank owned and they have no information on the hot tub that came with the house. I have no way of contacting the previous owners, but even if I did, I doubt they'd be helpful in helping me with their hot tub that they lost to foreclosure.

The hot tub itself seems in pretty good shape. No visible cracks. It's mounted on a wood deck. And it was covered well, only a small bit of mucky water inside of it. I've never owned a hot tub before, so I'm a complete newbie when it comes to them. Can anyone get me started on what I would need to know to see if it works, cleaning it (emptying that mucky water would be a good start), and making sure its safe? I would hate to be electrocuted the first time I set foot in it, though I'm sure thats a totally irrational fear. It looks well built and sturdy. The house was built in 2000 so the hot tub itself can't possibly be older than that.

Thank you for any assistance.

Go to stores that sell hot tubs and see if they have general maintenance sheet printout freebie.
They will tell you the basics that you need to know. Brands don't really matter.....it is a health thing moreso and also there will be info on tub upkeep pump upkeep, yada, yada. Take as much info about yours as possible Brand, model. That will aid any store as well.

I would recommend that you have an electrician provide a properly grounded outlet for it. There is a pretty extensive section in the National Electric Code on how to properly wire a hot tub or spa. The most important; GFCI protected properly grounded outlet, no electrical devices within reach or above the tub.

Safety first when you're sitting in water.

I would highly recommend not going in a hot tub at all. I am not a germophobe or anything but about 6 months ago I read an article about the "ecosystem" that can develop in a hot tub. First of all you have people getting in a tub of water, and all their human contaminates come into the water with them (sweat, fecal matter, dirt, hair, and everything else). Over time bacteria colonies will develop and live in there even if you clean your tub with bleach and everything. What happens is the colonies will live in the pipes and then when you turn on your jets they come blasting out. Also the steam in the hot tub will be full of microbes and you will breath them into your lungs. Most doctors and others who are familiar with microbiology avoid hot tubs, and anything like them.

Do you have a portable hot tub?

I'm considering getting one but want to know what you think about them. Do they get nice and hot? Any information is helpful.

I just saw one at Big Lots and it looked pretty nice. It was $500 and even came with a locking cover. It had four temp settings ranging from 89-104 degrees. It says it sits four people but I thought that might be kinda squishy.

How Do I Drain a Hot Tub?

My husband and I recently purchased a home that has a hot tub outside on the back patio. There was no manual left behind, only some chemicals. I would like to know how to drain the hot tub? I'm assuming there is some sort of mechanism for doing this. Any information would be helpful.

Remove the panel, that covers the pump and piping. You should see a valve in the white drain pipe. It depends on the model, as to where it is located, and what type valve. It might be one that you can attach a hose to, or it could be tied into the sewer system, and just opening the valve will start draining the tub. You should be able to locate a name on a data plate, and contact the manufacturer, for operating instructions. You could also take some pictures, and go to a local hot tub store. They should be able to help you. Good luck, and Happy New Year!

Is there a danger or risk involved in swimming in a swimming pool then warming up in a hot tub?

If the swimming pool is about 72 degrees F and maybe lower, and the Hot tub is about 102.5 to 103 degrees. If there is a risk or danger, is the risk greater for children under the age of 5? What about men and women? If you have a good answer for me, where can I verify this information?

There is no danger. 102-103 is rather cool for a hot tub.

Anyone no where I can find any information on the effects of hot tubs on babies?

I know all the information that everyone is saying, I work at a resort and tell parents that they can't have there infants in the hot tub and you would be suprised how many people argue with me. I was wondering if anyone would no where are could find documentaton on the negative effects.

For starters have the managment post a large notice "No one under "?" age allowed in the hot tubs" That should help cut the arguments you get. The minimum age should be at least 6 preferably older. It seems like the manufacturer should have info on the dangers and age recommendations. Good luck. I quit working with people they're just too stupid.
