What You Need to Know About Building Permits in Cleveland Heights Patch.com
1. Cleveland Heights residents need building permits for most construction projects, including window replacement, electrical, plumbing and heating upgrades, concrete work and asphalt resurfacing. In addition, if residents want to build a deck or pool, they must have a permit. A permit is not necessary for minor repairs and painting, for example, but the city suggests homeowners call 216-291-4900 before beginning any work to make sure. A ton of useful information is also available on the city's website .
2. Homeowners can pick up permit applications at City Hall during the specified permit hours, 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Or they can mail a request and include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Forms are not available online.
3. Contractors must be registered with Cleveland Heights, and there is a contractor list provided on the city’s website. Residents can browse contractors by trade. Homeowners do not have to be registered to obtain a permit to complete repairs on their homes themselves if it is a single-family property. If it’s a rental home, landlords have to register or hire a city-registered contractor.

How to repair hot tub cover?
My dog tore the vinyl top of the hot tub cover to shreds. I can't afford a new one right now. Any ideas on how to fix it up so it will look ok for a year or so? I was thinking about maybe making a design of different colored duct tape, but didn't know how that would look or hold up in the sun? Help please.
I work for a hot tub cover manufacturing company. I'm afraid duct tape would be your only answer. There is really no other way to put it back together. When you can afford one, ask your local spa store to find a "bone pile" cover that will fit your spa. They are much cheaper.
My company is Cedar Mountain Spa Covers, 1-208-772-9176 if you want us to find one in our stock and send you one.
my email is stefsnyd@hotmail.com
OR, you can send me measurements of your spa, and I could make a cover for your cover, is the styrofoam in good shape still? Because I could just sew the "skins" and send them to you and that is way cheaper still. Let me know.
hth hot tub repair- noisy?
moved into a place with a hot tub, determined to get it running before the cold weather...
all the wiring is new, everything works but it's REAL loud. is there possibly an easy repair here? is there a diagram of the inside of an hth tub online?
any help appreciated!
dr hot tub- ah, where would i look for tub's maker?
hth don't manufacture tubs so that part is a mystery. If your pump is very loud it is on it's way out. Most likely a winding problem. Time to buy a new pump for the day yours stops working.

Hot tub fiberglass repair?
Our older hot tub has got a small crack in the fiberglass and a liquid like rust is leaking through. some hottub people have called it cobolting!! (sp) but they are not very helpfull at giving us the information to repair it ourselves...
We Tried sanding it and filling it with a resin but it is still 'weeping' brownish fluid.
fiberglass is a tricking thing to repair without having the right knowledge of the subject.....it goes on in layers and not just one......i would highly suggest calling someone to professionally fix it that way it doesnt last 6 mths to a yr then do it again....
Any place that I can repair my hot tub in 60453?
I have an old vita spa from like 86-87, don't wanna get rid of it cause the room looks nice and dont wanna mess it up. The problem is that the water won't heat up and the jets are messed up (i think). Any estimates on how much it would cost to repair it would be very helpful as well.

How to repair a hole in my hot tub cover?
How can I repair a hole in my hot tub cover? I put a hot ramen noodles cup on the hot tub, came back outside, and there was a hole that the cup of noodles had burned through the cover! How can I (inexpensively) repair it? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If the foam is damaged there isn't a cheap and easy fix. If the vinyl is damaged then the fix is easy and cheap.
Things you will need to repair the damaged vinyl:
1. A can of waterproof vinyl glue suitable for patching vinyl. You can find this stuff at your local pool store. Its commonly used to patch holes in vinyl pools. It should cost no more then ~$20
2. The same grade of material that your spa cover is made from, ideal the same colour. Typically, most spa covers are skinned with marine grade vinyl and your local pool store should help you with this again. Alternatively, an upholster should also help you with this. You will need enough material to cover the damaged area in order to make a patch plus a little bit bigger. So that means if you have a 2cm x 2cm damaged area make the patch bigger then the hole (like 3cm x 3cm). If your lucky they might give you some scraps for free.
Cut the patch so that it has rounded corners. This will ensure that the edges won't uncurl and the patch comes off. Apply a liberal amount of glue to the underside of the patch and flatten it down. Allow the glue to dry for at least 24hrs.
And BAM your done.
hot tub repair?
someone is going to give me a hot tub but the motor needs to be replaced, does anyone know approx. how much this wil cost?
My estimate would be higher than the previous one, due to the variables in motor size, and the cost of labor (I wish I knew your location), I would put it in the $200.00 - $350.00 range.
hot tub cover repair?
My hot tub cover is in good shape except that the hinge ripped completely from end to end. Is there any way to seal both sides back together? The way it is now I cannot use my lifter. This is very incovenient. Looks of the repair are not important.
I fixed my hot tub liner with a bicycle tire patch kit
How to repair small leaks in a fiberglass Jaccuzzi hot tub?
The shell of my "older" (pre-1995) Jaccuzzi hot tub has several small areas that have developed leaks. Basically, the shell has just "worn through." I'm pretty certain the tub's made of fiberglass. How do I repair these leaking spots? ..... and have them water tight again of course?! THANKS!
Sand the places that need repair. You have to do this so the patch will stick.
Get a "Bondo" automotive fiberglass repair kit and use that to patch the holes.
The patches will need to be finished by sanding and filling with a mix of the fibreglass resin and "microballoons... or "Bondo Ultimate" to get a smooth surface.
The patches will be visible... unless you go through with completely refinishing the interior of the hot tub. But at least they'll quit leaking.
how do i repair the Heater in my hot tub?
My heater element was professionally replaced last year and when i turn the tub on it says that the heater has malfunctioned. How can I ck this myself??? the tub is a 1998 - 8 person tub.
Last year? Then it should still be under warranty. Call the repair guy back. That's the easy way to fix it.
