George Parros: Cuts for the Kids charity event was a cut above Los Angeles Times (blog)

Cut for the Kids is definitely one event every year that I look forward to. It is a great way to meet some of our fans, and it provides them a way to help out a great cause. It reminds us all that you don't have to be a celebrity or professional athlete to help out those less fortunate. In fact, I think the best part of this event are the young kids who grow their hair out for a year or more with the sole intention of helping out other kids their age. I think that is so cool, and this year we had many kids who did that very thing.

Participating this year was Logan Niedermayer, Scotty's oldest son. He had his hair cut in the chair next to mine and was a great sport. His story was actually quite funny because he liked his hair long, and his old man wanted it cut before school started this fall. He discovered that he could get another couple months with the long 'do if he waited to cut it with me, and even though Scott was not thrilled, they made a deal. I love the fact that Scott was a bit rattled about his son's hair. Because of my event, we have had some jokes this year about it. Our captain was a good sport about everything, though, and even stuck around to sign some autographs with me.

Cutting My Kid's Hair

How to cut your kids hair? Yeah, I guess so. I cut my hair plenty of times using the same technique (although not in a while as you can see), so I ...

how can i cut my hair scene kid style?

[I'm not trying to be some poster].

so people in my school consider me as a scene kid. i always wear heavy eyeliner and big hair. I'm trying to cut my hair scene style. i try it before and i seemly messed up my own hair.
Now my hair is long and evenly. help how should i cut it.

thanks.

Your best bet would be taking a picture into a hair stylest, that's why I did. But if you can't then just cut your hair the length you want [and cut the layers too] and then take a razor [one for acutally cutting hair] and twist the ends of your layers and the ends of your actual hair and use the razor to cut it to give it that choppy look. Do this to your bangs too. I would consider doing your bangs longer than you actually want just in case you mess up [you can take hair away, but you can't add it], and NEVER cut your hair wet. If you cut your hair wet then it won't give you a precise length of hair [meaning it'll probably be shorter than you wanted when it dries].

After you got the hair cut just tease your layers and TADA! Scene hair. =]

the trend is to have longer layers on the bottom and much shorter layers on top. this style tends to look best when done professionally with a razor, but barber scissors work fine, too. the shorter layers should vary from the top of your ear to above your chin, and the longer layers should at least hit the bottom of your bust. also, heavy bangs are common with this style. when you style it, flatiron everything, then tie your bottom layers in a ponty tail, flip your head upside down and spray your short layers with hairspray, then flip it back over and remove the elastic.

hehe this question hasnt been asked in a while.

well i love this and im planning on doing it to myself when i get a job so i can go to the salon regularly
so the "trend" is so have layers. it can be short layers or long layers. if u have multiple short layers on short hair u can just spike it up like here-http://media.photobucket.com/image/short%20scene%20hair/Scene_Hair_Cuts2/Short/HAIRf.jpg?o=2

than if u want some long layers and u have long hair get some shorter layers or medium layers
http://media.photobucket.com/image/scene/shampoobree/Scene_X_Core_.jpg?o=51

than the dying. be wild and creativehttp://media.photobucket.com/image/scene%20girls/doraxdinosaur/Scene%20Girls/68tggvb.jpg?o=76

or it can just be one really bold color like bleach almost white blond hair with some black streaks. its all about being unique. but if u rlly wanna be scene think about what u want for a while and think of something n1o else has. dont be afraid to go alittle wild but not to wild that it looks ugly. and u have to work iit of course. u have to feel confident and think ur the best looking out there

Well, Little Ms. Scene Queen:

I definitely hope you're not trying to be a piece of cardboard poster poser.

Just Kidding. Everyone makes severe typos. :0)

Anywho.

Maybe you could try to razor the back of your hair, so it's short in the back.

Layer your hair in choppy layers.

Then add asymmetrical bangs.

Later on, you could dye it (fully or with streaks).

And of course, accessorize with cute bows and hair clips.

That's pretty much all I know, but I hope it helped.

Lots of Love,

.kelsey-san.

i need a choppy girly scene kid hair cut please..?

go to photho bucket and type in scene hair

Then go to a hairdresser?

have a look through here and maybe even ask them there. I'm sure you'll get more help:

Do you cut your kids hair or do you leave that to a professional?

I can't help myself. i think i'm a hair dresser. i cut layers in my daughters hair like i know what i'm doing (which btw i dont). i even tried clippers on my sons hair. i learned the hard way those should only be operated by professionals....
every since i gave birth i suddenly think i can cut hair. did anyone else gain that skill as a parent?
i'm glad i could make you laugh. my work here is done. :-)
actually my daughter is very cute w/her do. quite styling. maybe i missed my calling. although im not sure i could do it for a living thats too much power, what happens if someone ticks me off - opps sorry about that ear sir...

I only cut my 1st daughter's hair. I didn't want somebody to ruin it!! ha-ha! She has straight hair so it's easy to cut. My 2nd daughter had curls so I never cut it, & never had anyone else cut it. I had my 3rd daughter in 04 & my oldest was 4 1/2 and my middle was 2 1/2. I had the baby home for 2 weeks and went upstairs one night to see what my 2 older girls were doing. They were very quiet! I opened the door to their bedroom and went in & saw all this white hair on the floor. I thought they had cut Barbie's hair, but looked closer at it& there was so much & all these little curls. Then I saw my middle daughter hiding in the closet. My oldest daughter cut ALL of her hair off. Her hair was below her waist and had the prettiest curls too. Not any more! Olivia, my oldest, had cut all of her hair off and left just one little curl in the back. My baby was 2 1/2 years old an had a mullet! OMG! Olivia had cut her hair so short it was above her ears, she had no bangs, it was about 2 inches. I cried big time too!
So this is how I started taking my gilrs to have their hair cut by a professional. We haven't had any more sister hair cuts! I think my youngest started going when she was 2. My oldest & my youngest have very thin straight hair and if it goes a while without a cut it looks stringy, so I like to keep it up so it looks nice.

Not yet, my daughter has barley any hair though. I think I will leave that up to the professionals! I have seen some home hair cuts and sometimes they are not so great! LOL

I cut my sons hair and do a really good job - I cut the girls' bangs but that's about it.

leave it to a professional. that way if they mess up, at least your kid wont hold a grudge/seek revenge on YOU.

my kids keep it long

I have been trained to cut hair, but I still don't cut my kids hair. My sister owns a salon and we go to her salon to have their hair cut. Not because I'm worried about cutting it, but because I want them to understand that hair is only cut in the salon. When my daughter was a baby she had no hair and once it finally started to grow and look pretty my son decided he was going to cut her hair and his. Now they both know their aunt is the only one who comes close to their hair with scissors.

I have 2 1/2 year old twin boys, and we have no choice but to cut their hair. My husband does it while I hold them. He takes the clippers and buzz buzz.
We have taken them to a salon and both of them freaked to the point of almost throwing up. I hate putting either of them, and the stylist through any of that.
They still get upset at home, but not as much. I guess they feel somewhat more comfortable getting it done at home.

LOL, well I'm no professional, but I do cut my kids' hair. It turns out pretty well too. I cut my husband's hair as well.

The one and only time I allowed my husband to cut our son's hair it was a disaster. I'll put it to you this way.... our son was bald as the end result :-)

I haven't tried that, because I am lucky....my mom is a licensed cosmetologist. She always cuts all of our hair. And the one and only time I tried to have another so called licensed professional cut my step daughter's hair, I about had a coniption fit. She has naturally curly hair, and this chick was getting ready, scissors in hand and aiming to cut, with her hair completely dry! Ever since that, I am too scared to let anyone else do it LOL

I'm with you. I have to do it myself because I'm afraid someone will ruin their hair. I have a crazy thing about their hair, so I trim it. Just a little bit. :)

No way.. my sister is a professional, I will leave it all to her..

my husband cuts my sons hair. and when my daughter is older i will have my sister do her hair. she is really good at doing hair•

Yes,I prefer to cut the hair kids or my hair in professional of my trust.

Lil... yes i cut my children's hair.. (well... the ones that have hair at least lol)
I don't really know what i'm doing either, but they all seem to like their hair. I did have a few friends in hs that were in vo tech for cosmetology so i do know a (very) little something..but not much to make me a professional lol.
I've done clippers on my brother's hair and it actually turned out okay..my boyfriend did a much better job as he can cut his own hair with them..how, i don't know!
So, yes i've gained this skill as a parent..

I cut my daughter's hair. She has long hair with bangs so it isn't hard to make it look right. I also cut my husband's hair-he has gone to professionals occasionally, but it looks just the same so why spend the price.

Well my daughter is only 9 months old and doesn't have much hair, but yes I cut it :) I'm actually in cosmetology school right now so it works out pretty well :)

My hubby is the hair cutter to our 4 boys and myself. He can do most any style and he does a excellent job.

I bring my son to a professional. I don't trust myself enough to cut it at home. If I did, my poor son would have to wear a hat every day.

i leave it to a professional, or else they would have uneven choppy messed up hair :]
btw, you made me laugh!

haha. no i tired once, didn't go very well. So i leave it to the hair dressers.

no the only time i feel brave enough to even try to cut my daughters hair is when her bangs are in her eyes. other then that i steer clear of trying to cut her hair. i wish i was brave enough

yes, I have become a master hair -cutter since I became a mom! I cut bangs every few months.... cut my girls hair when it gets too long & starts to get tangles.... I don't cut my boy's much because he has only had hair in the past year - I do cut his bangs to keep it out of his face. I think it is so much easier (and cheaper) just to do it myself
I was so mad -- My mom asked if she could get kids hair trimmed. My son had never had a hair cut, he needed it to get evened out / cleaned up a bit. he had gorgeous curls and his dad and I wanted it to be 'long' while he was still little (it was not long... just past his ears) I told her she could get it trimmed / cleaned up, but I did NOT want it short.... he comes back with this awful short short nerdy haircut -- I was SO mad -- she said they cut it shorter than I said, which was a lie, because he had the EXACT same hair cut as my brother!! Its finally grwon back out, but his curls never came back :( I'm not letting anyone cut my kids hair anymore!!

I leave it to the professionals. Me and scissors just wouldn't go well. My poor girls would be going to school with slanted bangs. If I had a son though, that might be a different story.

No i wouldn trust myself to do it lol.

Ha, ha, ha. I tried it once when my oldest daughter was about 5. The bangs were crooked and short! It was terrible. The next morning I woke up to her cutting a hunk of my hair off the top of my head. My hair stood straight up until it grew out. lol True story.

I leave it to the professionals
the reason why is one time wanted to do my little girls hair the first time i did it on my oldest(4) and it look really good but then i cut my youngest girls(2) hair and it looked like crap!

i won't but because my dad fancied himself a barber and left me with a bald patch. I will take them to professionals.

Karkie's answer is horrible and hysterical at the same time!

I do both - cut it myself and take him to the barber -- just depends on the mood!

Can you please suggest how I can learn to cut children's hair?

My church has an orphanage in the Philippines, and I will serve as a barber there for 6 months. How can I learn to cut kids hair, without going to college? Do you have any good suggestions? HELP...and thanks!

carefully! Kids move around alot, so just try to cut straight and you'll be ok....

What kid of hair cut do you think I would look good with? [pics]?

I'm going for a haircut because I'm going to a party for my new high school next year and I want to look pretty and make a good first impression...
What kind of hair cut do you think I'd look good with

This is me ---> http://s451.photobucket.com/albums/qq236/meep21/

Also how do you think I could make myself look really pretty for this party?

Thanks soo much <3

You look like Christiana Ricci... lay off all that make up!

i love your hair
but do you really want to go shorter?
i would do extensions

ps-ur gorgeous :)

something with bangs and you would look good with darker hair

I really like how your hair looks in this picture: http://s451.photobucket.com/albums/qq236/meep21/?action=view¤t=3915427294a9180628273o.jpg

Since it's already short (for the most part), maybe instead of cutting it, you could just tease it and maybe trim your bangs if you wanted. I think you have really pretty hair just the way it is :)

i think you look pretty with your short straight hair. It would be nice if you added brown/black highlights to you hair. good luck. make a good first impression

HOPE THOSE HELP!! :)

how much would you pay for a kids hair cut?

hi, im wondering how much poeple pay for there kids hair cuts or how it is done, for eg by age or by school type (primary or secondary) im in australia if this makes a difference, thanks

15 bucks

0, im giving my daughter the bowl cut until she is 15, this way she can learn that beauty is skin deep

I cut my own sons hair, all it cost me was for a pair of scissors a comb and a pair of shears. Although i wasn't to bad at cutting hair to begin with, my son's hair looks just as good as going to the salon.
I just use the shears on the bottom half of his hair and scissors on the upper half.

We live in the US but my oldest (11) gets her hair hair foiled and cut for around $110 with tip. My youngest (9) gets a trim for $16.

I'm teenager.so i think you should cut you kids hair as simple as you kids like.I'm from Malaysia,RM 5 to pay for a kids hair cuts just for primary school.

The cheapest I found is 10 dollars. Some times you can get it cut for about 6-8 bucks.

What kid of hair cut should I get?

Hi! Ok, so I'm getting my hair cut 2day and I really have no idea what I want to do. I thought about square bangs...but I don't know. I wanna do something different, but I don't wanna go too short. Here's me: http://s449.photobucket.com/albums/qq214/eemmaag/?action=view¤t=Picture6.jpg

So what sould I do? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE include links! Thx so much! Best answer will be awarded :]

you don't need to do anything your very pretty that way

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v17/mslaynie/SavoirHair/ShopSeuFront-1.jpg

your hair is already very beautiful but considering you may want something new. If you get your face framed it would look real pretty as well....

This would look nice:

Go to www.virtualmakeoversolutions.com to try different hairstyles on your own picture, it's fun!

Good luck, it'll look great:)

I Need My Hair Cut, What Should I Get.?

Okkay. I am a junior now and have a "as i think" a little kid hair cut. I would like it but before I go back to school on Aug. 22nd. My mother should be taking me soon. I want something that is just above my shoulders or right at them. My hair grows really fast so I want something that isn't going to look stupid when it grows out. I would like a emo/scene hair cut with bangs. I don't really find the side bangs attractive, but I am willing to work with them. Just help me out. And I am also planning on my hair to stay it's natural dark brown. I might be dying the bangs blonde so work with that. Thanks.
this is my hair right now.

http://i19.tinypic.com/68ixzbq.jpg

that is my bangs.
my hair is about 5 inches past my shoulders... i hate it.

Why do kids cut their hair immediately after finding a pair of scissors?

My niece found a pair while I was babysitting her and I thought she was just looking in the mirror in my office just next to the room where I was cause I had just put a pretty on her hair and when I checked on her she was cutting away.

I remember doing that too, chopped my the top half of my bangs off cause I thought they'd be thinner but instead it just made a bald spot.

I think its in the childs rule book, under the chapter "I must cause mayhem" or it might be under " How to make your mother scream" Either way a child will at some point between 2 and 14 years cut their own hair... aaarrgghhhh why oh why. My daughter cut her whole fringe off and the other one took a chunk from the side. Now they are memories I laugh at. :)

Is there a free website I can go to, where they show you how to cut hair, evenly?

I don't want to spend $10, in a salon, to cut my kid's hair. When I have a pair of scissors at home. I tried cutting my child's hair, but it didn't come out evenly.
