Extraordinary way to pamper your body Sun.Star

Sunday, October 9, 2011

EVERYONE troops to salon these days -- male, female and even kids.

Taking care of one's skin, hair and nails is no longer considered as decadent but as part of everyday, in this case periodic, hygiene.

Have something to report? Tell us in text, photos or videos.

Waxing and nail treatment are two basic ways of maintaining hygiene and pampering oneself.

Body waxing is a method of semi-permanent hair removal that removes the hair from the root. Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including eyebrows, face, bikini area, legs, arms, back, abdomen and feet. There are many types of waxing suitable for removing unwanted hair.

The benefits of waxing versus other forms of hair removal are numerous. For one, it is a very effective way of removing large amounts of hair at one time and it is a long-lasting method. Hair in waxed areas will not grow back for two to eight weeks.

Meanwhile, nails endure daily beatings of hard work but easily become a neglected part of the body. Nails should be moisturized just like the skin. It requires extra attention and care.

How to do an Upper Lip Wax

If you have unwanted upper lip hair and want it removed, waxing is a great option. You will need a wax (I used Epilys White Queen Lukewarm wax ...

Lip waxing?

I have blonde hairs above my lip and they arent noticable except on the outter corners of my lips. With lip waxing, when the hairs start growing back are they black and noticable? How noticable will they be before you can get them waxed again? Thanks
well its blonde right now, i naturally have close to black colored hair, so im nervous that like my leg hair it will come back darker

they'll be the same color as they were before you waxed, waxing hair doesn't change it's color. they'll also be just as noticeable when they grow back as they were before. i believe you have to wait for a 1cm growout before you can wax again, but i could be wrong.
if they bother you a lot (which if you ask me, you should feel lucky that they're blonde, and not dark brown like mine were (gee, thanks birth control pill)) and waxing doesn't seem like a good enough option to you, you can get laser hair removal, which is what i did. it cost me $50 for one treatment, and those hairs haven't seen the light of day since i got it done, which was about a year ago now.
good luck, mustaches suck.

This is a common problem with women with dark hair in particular. I would suggest a combination or waxing the hairs, or if you're really self conscious about they way that they grow back, you could try bleaching them blond. You can buy these from local stores, they're generally inexpensive and relatively simple to use. This only bleaches the hair so it's unnoticeable and the hair stays fine. Alternatively, if it's a small amount of hair, you might be brave enough to pluck the offending hairs.

well if its naturally blonde then because of your genes, it will grow back blonde

if it really does bother you...i recommend you do laser hair removal

NAIR MAKES A FACE HAIR REMOVER, MUCH CHEAPER AND MORE EFFECTIVE AND LOADS LESS PAIN THE WAXING

To be honest it is a disaster. Once you get them waxed you may need to get it done every 1-2 weeks depending on your hair growth. Another thing that I know that I have tried before is to wax at home. Go to Sallies or another beauty supply store and get some microwavable wax (not strips they always leave red marks for days). Oh and another thing after you microwave it, make sure that you test it so it does not burn you. hope this helps, best of luck.

your hair on your upper lip will grow back same color as the one you ripped out. it will not get thicker, or darker. If that were true all the men who were going bald in the world would start waxing their heads to promote hair growth.

You may need to go back any where from 2 - 4 weeks to have it done.

they needto probably be 1/8" to 1/4" long to be waxed.

Laser treatment is probably not the best option for you either. Lasers work best on dark hair with light skin. It may take a lot of treatments for the blonde hair.

How much more is underarm waxing going to hurt than upper lip waxing?

i just got my upper lip waxed and how much more is underarm waxing going to hurt?

It will hurt a lot more since your underarms are more sensitive than your upper lip. Also, your underarms can be ticklish.

a friggin ton.

underarm waxing will hurt a lot more than upper lip waxing just because it is sensitive. after a few times of waxing your underarms, you skin will get tougher and it won't hurt as much....i know from expirence, same goes for anything that you get waxed.

**make sure your hair is long enough but not too long or it will hurt like a mother!

Ask your Esthetician about Relax and wax No Scream Cream

it doesnt. it'll sting the first time you get it waxed. put the pain is not bad.

a lot lot more

How much does at home lip waxing hurt?

compared to a eyebrow wax at a salon..
and how much do you spend on those at home lip waxing kits costs per month?
and any recommendations on good products?

Home or salon will hurt the same. The difference is the sensitivity of the area you are waxing. See, I don't think the eyebrows hurt nearly as much as the upper lip and I don't think underarms hurt barely at all. However, everyone is different so I'm just giving my own opinion based on personal experience. I like a product from Bliss called Poetic Waxing. It doesn't use strips - you just put the wax on and pull it off. Plus, it's reusable. Waxing can be messy until you've practiced a lot though so don't give up after the first time. Just be sure you've got an old towel put down to catch any mess you make. The wax I wrote about is about $40 and it lasts a while, especially if you're just doing a small area. At-home waxing is cheaper, that's for sure.

its a bit stingy but not much

i use hair removal cream

probably just easier/better to bleach.

this might help: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=42548182&searchid=e3c687c9-724a-40e9-9693-c3d09cc08d14

nope i do it like once a week lol.
i go to rite aid and get the sally hansen waxing strips. they're basically these strips with wax that you rub in ur hands to warm it up, then u peel them off, stick it on, and pull it off! it's real easy and im 13 so if i can do it, so can u.=]] it comes with a moisturizer thing that soothes it and gets rid of the wax residue. in my opinion, it hurts less than the salon and is a lot easier and more affordable!

I use GiGi Microwave Tweezeless Wax. It is super easy apply the warm wax and to remove lip and eyebrow hairs. Was not painful to say the least! Great product, and super cheap!

What are some cheap and really good working UPPER LIP WAXING PRODUCTS?

What are these products, how much are they and how well do they work. I need an upper lip waxing product ASAP. Thanks in advance!

Compare bikini waxing to lip waxing in terms of pain?

I'm really tired of shaving but I'm not sure I want to endure the pain of bikini waxing. How much worse is it than having your lip or eyebrow waxed?

OH MY GOD it is A LOT worse. But it's over quickly.

Worse, but you can take an Advil or something 30 minutes before you go in. Also, many salons have music playing to distract you but I would recommend bringing your iPod so you can listen to whatever you like. This is what I always do at the dentist, so I know music can help "drown" out pain!

i would have to say the bikini waxxing hurts
much much worse. but it is over quicker, but
there is alot of akwardness in getting it waxed,
i just shave and i think you should maybe wax
one month, shave the other just switch off. it hurts
more then eyebrow waxing but it takes less time. but
still go with my idea thats what i do.

How do I get even tone skin after lip waxing?

I waxed my top lip for the first time last night and now you can really tell that something is different because it is so much lighter in that area. Any suggestions.

tan it orr use a concealer.
wear a sun tan lotion n stay in sun. It will make the upper lip area more prone to heat n thus make it more dark. :-)
or else bleach the whole face apart frm ur upper lips...so all will be evenly fair :)

I have bumps on my upper lip after waxing! What can I do to get rid of them?

I got my upper lip waxed yesterday....which was 10/27/07 and I had all this redness, which went away, but these little bumps came! My mom told me to use ice, and you can't really see them, but they're there. What can I do?

Ice will help the swelling go down There still maybe residual swelling, so maybe try anti-inflammatory cream also. I recommend Topricin Anti-Inflammatory Pain Relief Cream.

Immediately after waxing I suggest applying a mixture of one part baby oil and one part salicylic-acid-based astringent (try Neutrogena Oil-Free Deep Clean Astringent, $5.50; at drugstores). The baby oil helps soothe skin while salicylic acid keeps pores and hair follicles clear.

If they don't start getting better and they look like little infected bumps like pimples, applying a toner (astringent) like Sea Breeze for Sensitive Skin can work. (try the neurtogena above as well.)

Hope I Helped!

Good Luck!

grow a moustache-that should cover it. jjk-i think they have a cream even tho it's for bikini zone bumps-i'm sure it's the same shit. You're probably too sensitve to the chemicals-try a different wax next time that'not so harsh.

DONT keep washing it with face cleansers, etc or put creams on it. you can get special oils/products to put on recently waxed skin that help a lot. one of them is called azulene; its deep blue and you just dab it on with a bit of cotton. talk to the 'waxist' about products to put on after waxing, so that next time it doesnt happen again.

How can I lessen the darkening of the skin just above my upper lip after waxing it?

I have been waxing the hair above my upper lip for quite some time now (Im a guy) and ive noticed that the skin where the hair used to be located has darkened? How can I lessen the darkening?

you can do a facial or a bleach to lighten the skin there.

How do i get rid of the burn on my lip from waxing it the other night?

I waxed my lip last night to get rid of the hair.
I don't know what happened (maybe from waxing too much or by rubbing too hard on the w/ a towel), but i have these big red marks above my lip that look and sorta feel like burns.

How do I get rid of them before tomorrow morning?
i've been putting vaseline on them and putting ice on them, too.
How long will it take?

There is not a lot you can do other than use a good concealer

Does waxing get rid of the upper lip hair AND the upper lip shadow ?

I'm thinking about getting an upper lip wax, and I want to get rid of the shadow too... but I don't know ; help ?

well you could be getting the darkness from the hair if you have darker hair .. waxing it would take off the hair and help get rid of alot of the darkness but there is no guarantee that it will get rid of it all
