Oberthur Technologies and AuthenTec Team Up to Demonstrate Fingerprint-enabled ... MarketWatch (press release)

, A leading provider of security and identity management solutions, have joined forces to create SIM / Universal Integrated Circuit Card (UICC) based designs that make NFC mobile payment via smartphones faster and more secure. The companies will combine their expertise in SIM/UICC security and fingerprint identity to jointly create easy-to-integrate solutions that enhance the speed and security of mobile payment transactions.

The companies' first fingerprint/NFC demonstration combines Oberthur Technologies' NFC FlyBuy SIM card with NFC SIM Adaptor coupled with AuthenTec's fingerprint scanner in the Motorola Atrix to enable single-gesture, biometrically secured access to mobile contactless services, such as mobile payment, mobile ID, and physical access control.

Oberthur Technologies and AuthenTec worked with INSIDE Secure, a leading provider of NFC technology, to implement control of NFC functions using the fingerprint solution on a FlyBuy NFC SIM card. This easy-to-add yet secure solution will be demonstrated over a mobile payment scenario at the Oberthur Technologies and INSIDE Secure booths at the upcoming CARTES & IDentification 2011 in Paris from November 15-17, 2011.

Can flexible spending accounts be used to make loan payments for services rendered before you signed up?

I got a special medical loan in February, then in July I signed up for a flexible spending account at my new job. I am still making payments on the loan. Can I get reimbursed for them, even though the services were provided before I signed up for the FSA?

No, the expense must be incurred after you enrolled in the FSA and during the calendar year you signed up for. There is a grace period after the year-end to file claims, which is usually 3 months.

No. The medical bill must be incurred AFTER you were covered by the FSA.

I really recommend that you discuss this issue with the administrative agency overseeing your Flexible Spending Account if you can't get the answer from the Flexible Spending documentation provided through your Employee Benefits unit. My understanding is that you may have some latitude on this. The administrator may very well tell you that the expense does NOT have to incurred before the date when you signed up for this benefit since you are paying in installments rather than in one lump sum. If that's the case, though, you will still need to provide a receipt or statement of account for your installment payments on the medical loan, so be sure to get those documents periodically from the medical services provider. They receipts should show the dates of the installment payments, the name and address of the service provider, and the type of medical service provided. You might want to accumulate a quarter's worth of installment payments documented on a receipt or account statement and submit the combined amount on a flexible spending account claim form.

Consider this scenario, which is a bit similar to yours. My spouse had surgery in late 2007. It is now almost August 2008, and the surgeons' claims still have not worked their way through the health insurance system yet. As a result, we have not received final bills from the surgeons showing what we will owe. Realistically, this could take about a year from the date of the surgery. Obviously, I can't submit to Flexible Spending until I have final bills from the surgeons. Despite the fact that the surgery was performed in 2007, the critical date in this scenario is the billing date, which will likely be in 2008. I couldn't submit for these expenses to Flexible Spending in 2007 or early 2008 because I didn't have (and still don't have) a definitive dollar amount owed to the surgeons. The date the expense was incurred is irrelevant if you don't have a dollar value for the service on that date.

When you speak with the Flexible Spending Account administrative agency, be sure to speak with a manager or supervisor, not just a claim service representative. The manager or supervisor will be in position to get you a definitive decision on your question. Be sure to note their name, title and the date of your telephone conversation in the event that administrative agency tries to reneg on your arrangement later.

Looking for at home kids make up party services in santa rosa california?

I am looking to have a make over party for 8-10 8 year old girls and the only services I have been able to locate are in San Jose. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! I own a small Mary Kay business...I just did a MAKE-UP party for a girl that was turning 15 and it was a blast.

Go to www.marykay.com and try to find a consultant in your area and I am sure they would LOVE to set this up for you!

I wouls contact a Mark rep. It is made just for younger girls. Very affordable as well.

How much profit would a management services start-up business make (roughly off course)?

Somewhere in the range +/- $1 million I would guess ..

A lot of businesses make a loss in their first few years, although any 'services' business should be able to control costs a lot better than manufacturing ...

It really comes down to your CONTACTS .. who you know that will pay for your services .. if you already have dozens of personal contacts in existing corporations that will be happy to place business your way, you are likley to be in profit very quickly .. if you have no existing contacts, expect to make a loss ...

I am going to make up a flyer offering babysitting services. What should I put on it?

I have taken some early childhood education clasees, but don't have a degree. I have lots of experience with kids, though, and am looking for a way to supplement my income. What's a good way to word a flyer so that people will call? As a parent, what would you look for in a babysitter, and what would catch your eye on a flyer?

make the word "babysitting" bigger and slightly more eye catching than the rest of the flier. moms don't generally have time to stop and look at all the pretty fliers that people hang up, but the word "babysitter" is like saying ice cream to a five year old! Second, put limited personal info about yourself, there are too many weirdos out their that might want to use your info for other reasons. i suggest first name and phone number, and make it a cell number if you have one. then make it clear that you have experience, education, and references to share when contacted. as a mother of three, references were a big thing for me when we used child care. blessed be.

I would suggest going to a CPR class. This is something that parents like to see and is always a good thing to know!!

I wont kill your kids

your training,age,experience,location

Days an hours sitter is available, prices, special needs capeable (can she/he deal with a special needs child) Certifications, licensing, educational background.

Definitely emphasize that you are experienced. If you have CPR/first aid training put that on there...You could put something like "I am an experienced, well-trained, flexible, mature, and responsible person"

Put on it that you love children, that's if you DO. Let the Mom's know your rates and whether they are negotiable with certain circumstances (off and on, weekly, single mom discounts, etc.). Also, I'd need to know what ages your are working with and what the ages are of the other kids you babysit, if you'll babysit more than one at a time and where, do you come to me or do I need to take baby to you.

Nokia phone on O2. Every time we try to make a call it comes up with the message check operator services.?

Have wiped the sim card and turned it on and off. Has signal and credit. Any ideas?

"Check operator services"
call your operator then.

as said call your network operator.

may also be prmium rate numbers are not allowed

the phone is blocked phone o2 they can unblock it for you

try taking your phone back off and then your sim card get it and rub it with a dry cloth, once you have done this then put your phone back together again.

And then switch the phone on and then try making a call see what happens, if this fails go into your message settings and then check your settings if they are ok, then ring o2 up on 4445 and ask them for help.

How to make my program always start up ( system services ) ?

I mean when user start the PC , the program will run even he's not log in yet........

You can add your programs in registry
under

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

You will find there few other programs starting up with the computer power on

That will depend on your development language. If you're using straight C (or C++) against the Win32 API, check out http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms685141.aspx .NET has its own "service helper" classes with which you can develop services, as does Borland's VCL. There's probably something useful in MFC, but I'm not familiar with it.

Do you know of any monitoring services that can be used to check that a website is up and running properly?

Do you know of any monitoring services that can be used to check that a website is up and running properly? The monitor would have to not only check that the web pages appear, but it would have to check for the existence of certain text or code on certain pages. (That is so we can make sure the site is responding without error.) Ideally this will be a free or relatively inexpensive service.

Go to DNSSTUFF and type your URL. It gives you a report on the status of your site.

How do credit counseling / debt relief services make money?

I see their ads all the time, offering to slash debt in half and such. While I applaud these services for what they are trying to do, somehow they have to make money, or they couldn't afford to run these ads. Where is the profit coming from.

Appreciate the answers in advance, thanks!

Usually they are paid by the creditors and debtors both. The creditors are happy to pay a fee to someone who will get their money for them rather than take a loss. The debtors are happy to reduce payments and get a structured program to repay several debts into one managable payment.

Everyone is happy with the arrangement. The relief companies are acting a middle men, getting profit they create themselves.

The key with this is that anyone can negotiate with creditors. They can do it themselves and avoid the fees, whether hidden or known. If they do this then they can apply the 'fee' money to the payments and possibly end up ahead of the game.

Good luck

How do I tie up internationally for recruitment services?

I represent an HR outsourcing company based in Bangalore INDIA. Our firm wants to tie up with companies internationally to offer them with our recruitment services. We are really young and it is our long term plan to take our company international. How companies will benefit is that they will get quality & price effective people.

start by looking for recruitment agencies in your neighbouring countries e.g. south-east asia, or middle east, and work with them to supply manpower.

it'll be easier to supply to each countries' local recuitment agencies than trying to get into the corporate companies.

hope that helps.

What special services can I give to make my guesthouse really fantastic and popular?

I am opening up a 5 bedroomed guesthouse in a rural border town in Southern Africa. Never done this before, and I really want to have a special place that sets me apart from the others. My target clientele will be tourists en route to the game park, visitors from the neighbouring country, senior government officials, business people and potential investors. Any wonderful tips and suggestions will make my day!

Neato! If I were you, I would make sure the guest house offered modern conveniences BUT displayed a lot of local flavour. For decorations, I would mount either photos from the area (sepia or b/w treatment), local artisanal crafts, etc.

I stayed at a b&b once that had a little tv with a built-in vcr, and a collection of movies, as well as an interesting selection of books (maybe short stories would be a good idea, or books of local/regional interest).

You might also offer a picnic-lunch service.
