Manicure with your Mercedes? Hamilton Spectator

The new Mercedes-Benz looks just as good inside as it does on the outside – crisp lines, sparkling glass and chrome, innovative engineering.

That’s not even including the cars.

We’re talking about the dealership in Burlington.

Welcome to a new era in auto retail where customer service is the focus, with a café with chef (of course), Internet, shuttle, boutique and a lounge area with flat screen TVs where you can either watch a show on one screen or the progress your car is making in the shop on another.

If that isn’t your cup of tea, there will soon be a spa for manicures and pedicures in the basement and there are plans in the works for a golf simulator which will feature clinics with pros.

The new dealership on the North Service Road in Burlington is 65,000 square feet, which Mercedes-Benz Burlington says makes it Canada’s largest private dealership.

But it’s not just going for big. It’s also going for brand — as in top-notch engineering, slickly designed Mercedes-Benz brand.

How do you keep a manicure from chipping?

I got a manicure today, Sunday, and I need it to last for Sunday. It was stupid of me and I probably should have waited, but too late. I have real nails and I got a french manicure. Does anyone have any tips so I can keep it from chipping this week? Thanks.

Put a coat of clear topcoat every other day, or daily. Sally Hanson's Mega Shine or Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat are both great. Also, wear gloves when cleaning or doing dishes.

not getting one lol

What is the difference between a spa manicure and a regular manicure?

I am planning to take my girlfriend to Vegas in April and was planning something nice. I was looking at the Spa treatments and knew I had to get her a manicure. Does anyone know the difference between the Spa Manicure and the Manicure? (This is at Treasure Island in Vegas by the way)

Every salon is different and every salon or spa offers different versions of a manicure and spa manicure. Typically a regular manicure consists of a soak, file and cuticle care, hand and arm massage and polish. A spa manicure (at least the ones I give) consist of everything above including an exfoliating scrub and a paraffin treatment. Some nail techs offer a hand mask in place of the scrub or paraffin.

Well I know that a Spa Pedicure is when they have kinda like a bath for your feet. I'm not sure what a spa manicure is sry! good luck

How can I do a good french manicure by myself and make it look good?

I have done french manicures on myself all the time. But everytime I do it, the white tip is always uneven and sloppy. How can I get a professional looking manicure without going to the salon?

At beauty stores they have french manicure stickers that you put on your nail before you put the white on. It is foolproof.

umm do as i do... professional salon hun. get a good one. runs at only about 300$

get the sally hansen (1.46$) nail whitener. Its a crayon tht you put under your nails. Finish it off with some fast drying clear nail polish, i do it all the time and it looks fabulous

You can go to a salon and get it done (if you just want paint) for about $8. Otherwise, you can buy sticky things that you put on your nails, which leave a finished edge.

you can get french manicure kit-thingies at your local rite-aid/cvs/walgreens/whatever! they are probably no more than seven bucks a pack. basically, they're little rounded pieces of tape that you put on your fingers for a better finish.

When I don't have the time or money to really go to the salon I buy this kit from CVS that has little strips in it and it makes the manicure perfect. It comes with both colors and the little strips. They REALLY help.

use tape

Hi omg... First file and shape your nails. Second = wash your hands. Then paint the tips, on one hand, with a good white opaque nail polish. The put some nail polish remover in the cap and get a small brush that has short, stiff bristles but not long. Then, upside down, dip the brush into the remover and brush away the "bad" part of the white, while you are shaping it to the desired size of tip you want. Continue the same on all you nails and then polish one or two coats of a sheer color like pink or beige for french manicures. Hope this helps and go slow. Happy painting :D

Wow! See I don't think that's possible. When doing a task like that you need some assistance. But none said professional. Don't you know anyone who can help you. If Yes, how about you try style guides. Well I have to go! Choa!!!

Put your finger on the table, and keep the brush still but twist your finger to the side so the tip gets evenly coated. The brush doesn't move and you have greater control and can do a straighter line. Use 2 good pink base coats and then 2 good clear coats on top, and paint underneith the finger nail aswell.

What should I expect to pay for a regular Manicure in the state of South Carolina?

Nothing fancy... No tips or acrylics. I just want a manicure.

probably 15-20 dollars
it could be more or less depending on where you go
but if you go to a nail place thats in a strip mall it should be that price.

How long should a professional manicure last?

I am a stay at home mom and not especially careful with my nails. I wear gloves for gardening and put clear coat on every day. My manicure starts to look bad after about 4 or 5 days. It is me or do I need to find a better nail salon?

You shouldnt put a clear coat on everyday the thicker the polish the easier to damage.. my manicure lasts for about a week 2 weeks max.

. Make sure you have a very clean nail plate before applying polish. The natural oils on your nail, lotion or a piece of cotton fiber will make the polish peel. I like to strip the nails by swabbing them with Sea Breeze or nail polish remover.

2. Always use a base coat and top coat. It's sometimes tempting to skip them if you're in a hurry. But remember, it's not worth it if your polish chips faster. The base coat acts as a foundation for your manicure, and the top coat is a protectant for your polish.

3. Let each coat dry for a couple of minutes before applying another. This allows the polish to set so the next layer adheres better.

4. Wear gloves whenever you do a job in water or dirt: dishes, cleaning, gardening.

5. Try not to use your nails as tools. Concentrate on using the pads of your fingers and not the tips of your fingers when you reach, grab, hold and type.

that's usually just how long they last... it starts to chip when you take a shower or whatever.

don't worry, i hate that too! :-)

BETTER NAIL SALON..MYNE USUALLY LAST UP TO 2 WEEKS AT THE LEAST

It usually takes a week. Usually when the coat chips or nails chips. Then it is time to change. I personally think OPI nail polish is the best. Look out for these when you are in the store.

if you take good care of it, 5-7 days.

I think that's how long they should last if you're doing all that work. Especially washing dishes and stuff like that can mess them up from the chemicals. It's normal for someone who does alot of hands-on activities.

I have gotten numerous manicures from many different salons, and their quality varies. They can last anywhere from 2-4 days up to 2 weeks.

The best way to get your manicure to last a long time is to find a quality salon and take good care of the results. A good manicure will usually not involve trimming cuticles and they will most likely use a nail hardening agent after they are finished. Be sure to let your polish dry thoroughly after getting it done, and touch up with clear polish (especially on the tips to avoid chipping) to keep your mani looking fresh.

try a different salon. mine lasts for a little over a week.

What is the best method for a manicure at home?

Can someone please enlighten me on how to do a manicure at home. I do a lot of housework myself . How can I take good care of my hands and make them look and feel beautiful?
Thanks in advance.

Make your hands and feet feel fabulous .

Fill a large metal basin with very warm water adding a capful of your favourite cleanser or bubble bath. You can also add 5-6 drops of essential oil (diluted in a couple of teaspoonfuls of vegetable oil, honey, or cider vinegar). Try camomile, which helps ease aches and pains or rosemary which promotes circulation. Then, soak your feet or hands in the basin for 20 minutes. Remove and pat dry.
You can try a sea salt rub ( infused with essentail oils) to exfoliate, rinse, leaving some essentail oils to soak in. wrap hands or feet in a warm towel and rest 5 minutes.
and then
File and buff fingernails. For feet, exfoliate by using a pumice stone to slough off any rough skin. Cut toenails (straight across to prevent ingrown toenails) and file with an emery board.
Ease into cuticle care by applying good old olive oil to soften cuticles. Be gentle when pushing cuticles back – the skin is very tender. And don’t cut your cuticles!
To moisturize and lock in softness – massage a good, thick moisturizing cream onto feet and/or hands, wrap with saran wrap and put on some socks and/or mitts to seal in the benefits (the warmth created from insulating your hands and feet helps to penetrate the moisture deep into your skin). After about ten minutes, remove the layers and rub in remaining lotion.

Do a final buff, apply polish (or for natural nail shine – rub petroleum jelly onto nails) and you’re ready to go.

Go to Sally's beauty supply store and they'll put a few items together for you. Things like hardening polish, quick dry polish glaze and the clippers and cuticle removers and great files.
I love saving money when I do mine at home.

To exfoliate, make sure your hands are dry and rub sugar all over your hands then place your hands under warm water and dry off with a towel, for a manicure at home run warm water into a bowl that obtains hand soap, place your fingers into the warm water for approx 15 min, take hands out and start pushing your cuticles back with an orange wood stick, next clip any excess cuticle you want to get rid of,next file your nails to the shape and length you want, use a nail buffer to smooth out your nails. To help soften cuticles you c use ordinary olive oil,it sounds wierd but it actually works. I am not into using mary kay cosmetics but the line does have a product called satin hands that is wonderful. Good Luck.

What is the difference between getting a manicure and getting types with ariclic or gel?

That's all I really want to know. I always wondered. And how long does a manicure last?

A manicure just trims your cuticles, shapes the nails and polishes. Sometimes they give you a hand massage. It doesn't last very long. Maybe 1-2 weeks.

Acrylic nails are plastic tips glued to your nails to make them longer. They then brush on liquid acrylic and shape the nails to look natural, and polish. They stay on a long time, but when they grow out you have to have them filled in. Usually in 2-3 weeks. Also, acrylic nails damage your real nails. They look nice, though, and are sturdy.

Gel nails are the same as acrylic, but they put another, smooth layer over the acrylic, which is "Set" under a UV light.
These are crystal clear and can be worn with or without polish. They are even stronger than acrylic nails, too. But they are usually more expensive and the fill-in take longer.

Hope this helps.

How can I achieve a easy french manicure look without spending alot of money?

I usually use white nail polish and then a peach color top coat but it takes alot of time and usually chips like, 5 minutes after I paint my nails. I don't want to get acrillycs because I have natural long healthy nails. How can I make my nails look better and/or do the french manicure thing without spending a ton time or money?

You could just go pay to have your nails painted. It's usually like 10 dollars. And for some reason, the way they paint it lasts much longer than what I can ever paint. Lol! The airbrush technique seems to last pretty long and is usually a dollar or so more to get done. There are those kits you can buy in Wal-Mart as mentioned by someone above but once again that's very time consuming. The best way to paint them is to do a base (clear) coat, then the white tips and then the pink/peach for the top of the nail and go over the whole nail with a top coat or two. Make sure you let each layer dry adequately. It will usually last you about a week or so.
