New Massage Studio Opens Today at the Shipyard Patch.com

Elements Therapeutic Massage is the newest business to open at the Hingham Shipyard today.

The new massage studio is designed to provide healing massage therapy to South Shore residents. The Hingham business officially opened today (Oct.7) at 1 Shipyard Drive and will hold a grand opening celebration sometime in November where they will give customers a special one day sale.

Rosemary McLaughlin, Owner of Elements said customers looking for a perfect massage should try out the new Shipyard studio. The new Hingham business is designed only for massage therapy and will not supply customers with other services such as waxing and pedicures commonly found at nearby spas.

“We’re strictly a massage studio,” McLaughlin said. “We do not offer other services.”

The new Hingham business believes that it’s a myth that all massages are created equal and McLaughlin is on a mission to help area consumers experience the healing benefits of massage therapy services tailored to meet their unique needs.

Body Massage Therapy Full Demonstration 4 Relaxation You have probably heard of many different types of massage such as Japanese massage, Yoni ...

What type of massage is best for relaxation?

What type of massage is best for relaxation? Is it Swedish? Shiatsu? Thai? Or any other kind?

Besides having massage training myself, I love to get a great massage...And for relaxation, I'm a big fan of Swedish.

Are there any body relaxation/ massage places within or near Tokyo Narita airport to access during a 4hr wait?

I will be flying from New York to Bangkok with a boring 4-hour stopover in Tokyo Narita airport. I am looking for a place to relax my body after the 12-hour flight from New York to Tokyo and a pleasant way to spend the long stopover. Can anyone suggest anything along those lines? Thanks.

No, you cannot leave security at narita for 4 hours, go out into town and get back through security to make your flight. You can get a 1 day japanese Visa but to go through customs twice would be impossible.
My suggestion, if 4 hours is really that boring for you, then go to the Bar. There are dozens of bars at narita.
Going to Bankok? well I hope "massage" is not some sort of sexual innuendo.

if you are using JAL then their lounges provides massage service at Narita. check out below for details.

not that i know of

Why are men less likely to try *non sexual* therapeutic massage for relaxation and injury control, than women?

In the holistic health field, I've noticed that far fewer men in the USA will go to a qualified massage, neuromuscular therapist than women. For relaxation or injuries, aches and pains--I'd say overall what I have gathered is that it's about 70-30 in favor of women getting treatment. Why? Guys? Wives? Girlfriends? I CAN say that once a gentleman has been to a practitioner who is qualified, they generally stick with one person more than women do. Any ideas? Guys, since this is pretty anon. could you be forthcoming? Are you afraid of *flag up* or that it's girly ( you won't think that if you go for injury control or deep tissue lol). If you've had one bad experience, please tell that too, perhaps I can explain or get you going in the right direction. Anyway, I really appreciate any feedback-serious feedback-no fools who saw *massage* and started gaffawing like hyenas--those peeps not welcome. Aside from that, thanks for your help.

I am a massage therapist and naturopath myself and I would have 30% men and 70% women coming to me for massage. The reason that men are so stand offish I think is that they are afraid of appearing vulnerable to another man ( me ). My colleague who is female is around 50-50 men and women.

It is still seen as a "pampering" type of treatment by many. I do both deep tissue/therapeutic and relaxation massage and I find the men that do come are after the deeper tissue work. Once they come and get over the whole 'Man " thing they will often attend for relaxation work later. From here they see the benefits of regular massage for body health as well as stress relief etc and will come like clockwork. But to answer your question I think it is the appearing vulnerable thing that men sometimes have a fear of getting past.

Craig - Naturopath.

Everyone has their own reason, and I can't pretend to answer for everyone. I personally get massaged non-sexually occassionally. If they aren't doing it, there is some financial or sexual fear involved. For some, the fear is that they won't get a happy ending.

Well, I can't compete with the naturopath.

My opinion?

I am pretty sure that it is more acceptable for women to get massages than men.

And its something that women would probably get as a matter of course instead of a guy.

Total guesses.

I think guys are afraid of the stigma. People jump to conclusions, and they just aren't secure enough to try it. What if they ask for something that isn't being offered? What if they are offered something they aren't asking for? And of course there's that "tough guy" thing that keeps them from getting proper treatment for anything that isn't actually gushing blood.

So, you are saying that women prefer "sexual" therapeutic massage for relaxation and injury control as opposed to "non-sexual?" Or did you just mis-state your question?

Do you offer sexual therapeutic massage? Did any independent studies to qualify your findings?

Got a license to give a massage? Calling it "holistic" for a different spin?

Do you entertain?

Thai Massage is a combination form Ayurveda and Chinese and is good for health and relaxation ?

The Thai massage is probably the best in the world, it gives complete relaxtion and prevents agressivness. It is to be done by opposite sex, who consider masturbation as like cleaning of body.Which is also being precribed in India for handling mental retardates, Why massage in India by opposite sex is considered bad. No where thse women have sex and behave like sex workers.

India's rich culture do not allow these kinds of fantasies.

THEY DO IT HERE AT HOME IN ARE WORLD NOW WHICH IS MESS UP WHAT CAN U DO

I'm an ayurvedic student and i know that massage by opposite sex is not contraindicated in Ayurveda, but there are certain terms and conditions
But it is not followed in India just because there are other enough ways to gain physical and mental health which mother nature has offered and massage by opposite sex is not the only alternative left
It's not just women who donot behave like sex workers, in India every woman is considered equal to mother except one that's wife.........

Does someone need to be certified in relaxation massage.(not massage therapy)?

In order to create self employment for myself, I've considered opening a service for relaxation massage because I've been told you don't need certification for this because it is not deep tissue massage therapy.

You should check with your state health department, but generally you have to be a licensed massage therapist to touch people, basically to massage them in any way. I just started massage school a month or so ago but then dropped out after realizing it wasn't for me. I'm going to learn Reiki instead because I'm more interested in energy work than muscle/soft tissue manipulation, and Reiki isn't regulated by the state so you can practice it without a license, and although you may slightly touch the person it is very very subtle and not manipulating soft tissue in any way. However relaxation massage you are working with the soft tissue.

becouse those are illigitament parlors. They give happy endings.
The custmers you attract will expect certant "things".
I love my "happy endings".

prostitution is prostitution, its not legal. Up to you though

All I know is this: Here in Florida, relaxation massage is code for "Happy Ending".

The paper has dozens of women offering this "service" as opposed to traditional massage. None of them post license info in the ads, so if you are here in Florida, the answer would probably be no.

The requirements will vary from state to state. But any time you are dealing with a persons body believe a certification of some sort is in your (the providers) best interest. People can be sue happy.

Hawaiian Hot Stone Relaxation Massage.?

Is Hawaiian hot stone massage different then other hot stone massage. I do hot stone massage in Georgia. Should I call it 'Georgia Hot Stone Relaxation Massage"?

a stone is a stone is a stone.

How do I make my mobile massage business grow?

I work in and around Brisbane QLD. I do a theraputic/relaxation massage & I have been told that I have hands of gold but yet I only have very few clients. It is not that I charge too much - $60 anywhere in Brisbane for a FULL body massage is cheap compared to others.
I do a ligitimate massage (maybe that is it - no sex) - if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanking you in advance.

Hi, first of all I am a Brisbanite and I agree that $60 is a reasonable price for the area.

I would suggest the following:

*Putting up signs in convenience stores, beauticians, hairdressers, on community message boards, health shops and pharmacies. They don't have to be too flash but those ones that have the little tags down the bottom so passersby can grab your info are great.

*Getting a simple website up and going. It doesn't have to be huge, but maybe offer "specials" on it (ie option to buy gift vouchers for loved ones, discounts for people who book at times when you don't normally get much business)

*If your van doesn't have corporate graphics on it yet - get it done. What better advertising than pulling up out the front of someones house? The neighbours see it and think, "hmmm, if they can get it done, maybe I will too"

*Listing on yellowpages etc

Good luck :)

By the way, could you give me your details? My hubby is at home with a bad back at the moment and may be interested in some therapeutic massage.

Thanks

Is it true that massage is good for health or is it just for rich people relaxation?
