Sleek Med Spa - Laser Hair removal - Does it work?
Let me know what you think of your experience with Sleek Med Spa:
I think that they undertreat so that they can charge for additional treatments. Then they say that you need to exfoliate in order for the laser hair removal process to work. This may be a ploy to sell their product. Tell me if you are happy with the results of your laser hair removal.
I'm getting the laser hair removal thing done. It's been monthly sessions since september last year, and it's working, i have less hair and the ones that still grow are a lot finer and take longer to grow. I haven't had to exfoliate or anything, they just ask that you shave one day before. You should look for a place that offers to get rid of your unwanted hair for one price independent of how many sessions you need, cause if your hair takes too long to go away you're gonna end up spending too much!
i'm happy with the results, although i still have hair and it's taking too long for it not to come back, it's less of a hassle now, so i think it's money well spent.
Difference between a med spa and day spa?
Is there a difference between the two? Are the procedures at medical spas done by people that are more certified or went through medical training as opposed to cosmetic type training?
A medical spa generally offers the light end of cosmetic surgery: things like Botox injections, laser hair removal, microdermabrasion --services that require supervision from licensed healthcare personnel.
A day spa offers rest and relaxation and more temporary beauty treatments, like massages, seaweed wraps, manicures/pedicures, facial treatments, hair styling, etc. A medical spa might also offer day spa style treatments.
A day spa gives massages, facial.hair ,make up
Do I tip the technician at a med spa for a photo facial?
She is a nurse and the office manger. If so how much?
Has anyone went to a Sona Med Spa andhad laser hair removal?
did it work? i've tried some kind of laser removal at my dermatologist office , i went probably 8 times, and it didnt work.
My wife and I both had laser removal and it worked very well for us both. Some offices have poor equipment, are inexperienced or just take your $$$ even if you are not a candidate.
Check out http://www.HairRemovalForum.com as they certify providers and take them off the list if they receive complaints for poor results. The attached site also ranks laser providers.
Good luck.
Anyone used Sona Med Spa for laser hair removal?
I've just been hearing a lot about this place on the radio and stuff, so I was wondering if anyone had actually used it and ended up with good results and no problems? I've also heard about laser hair removal and the problems that can occur with people that have darker skin colors. I just would like to know if anyone would reccommend this place?
I have dark hair and medium to light skin. I went to Sona for bikini and underarm hair removal and it didn't work. After 5 treatments (they wrote me a voucher for a free 6th and didn't honor it) only about 40% of my hair is gone. I would never go back there, and if I got more treatments I would go somewhere cheaper. I would not recommend it. My stepmom went to a cheaper place and had the exact same results.
In Las Vegas, do you know a med spa or doc office that...?
Do microdermabrasion for a good price? My sister is 19 years old and she has acne scars [they look like little dimples on the side of her face and forhead]. I know different med spas and doctors office have different prices. So i was wondering if anyone knew of a great doctor or med spa for a good price.. thanks
This site has some spas that offer microdermabrasion in Las Vegas, and it looks like this one is well regarded:
Aquae Sulis Spa at Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa

I have also been to the Spa at the Mandalay Bay, and they have amazing experts who focus on skin, so that is definitely also one to check out. Probably best to call them to see what they can do. Also apparently locals get a discount of 15% Mon-Thurs

Hope this helps!
Also, here is a description of whats involved in microdermabrasion:

Has anyone ever tried any of Pure Med Spa's treatments?
If yes, how was it? They have things like photo facials, microdermabrasion, etc.
Or if not at Pure Med Spa, would you recommend some other place for treatments like these?
Yes, I have had some experience with Pure MedSpa. What location are you interested in? They had good staff, a great facility and very up to date equipment.
If you would like you can go to the attached source websites. Through those sites you can set up an appointment with Pure or an alternative provider and then you can receive $5 for completing a survey letting everyone know what you experience was like. The sites then rank all of the clinics that offer these services.
Any opinions on Aeterna Med Spa in St. Louis, especially concerning laser hair removal?
Call Better Business Bureau and see if they have had any complaints and call the AMA - American Medical Association and see if they are accredited
Help naming med spa/clinic?
I would like to try to figure out a name for my clinic. but i do not want the word spa to be included.
i would like something that includes one or both of the words "aesthetics, med".
heres what i have so far
"nu skin"
"nu skin med aesthetics"
"skyn"
"skyn med aesthetics"
etc;
i do focus on skin care and aesthetics, and botox injectables and veins
Thank you
This site has over 1000 different spa names...perhaps it can be of some inspiration?

Do I tip an RN at a med-spa?
Just wondering does anyone have any opinon/ experience, I am not sure if I am supposed to add a tip for the nurse at the med spa who administered my botox? I would tip after a facial but not sure if RN's expect a tip or not (you would'nt tip an RN in a regular Dr's office) Botox is $225
You do'nt really know if it was a 'good job' or not until a week or so when it kicks in, sometimes you bruise afterwards if they hit a blood vessel
An RN should not accept tips, but you can always give nominal gifts such as a box of candy or a hand lotion--take it by when you're feeling better, and she/he can evaluate the work and feel satisfied that the job was done to your satisfaction. Thank you for the thoughtfulness, but it is an uncomfortable situation for an RN--I know, I have many times been offered things that are too generous, and I appreciate when the gift is something that I can share.
