want to open a medi spa....?
I would like to open a medi spa and would ;like to know what type of license I would need to be able to give chemical peels, lip injections,lipo dissolve, and botox. Those sorts of things.

I want to work at a Med-Spa, so I'm on the verge of getting my education for it! LOL.
This is basically all you need: Esthetician license, and a RN degree.
The esthetics course at a cosmetology school is only 4 and half months long. There, you will learn basic skin care, facials, waxing, etc.
From there, you will need to do seminars in order to be certified to do microdermabrasions and chemicals peels. (You can't attend these seminars unless you are a certified beautician.) You will also need to pay for those. It's always good to go to as many seminars (even if it involves something you already learned or been certified for) because the beauty/skin care industry is always changing. And to be good at your job, you have to keep up.
In some states, you can't do microderms or chemical peels unless your under the supervision of a dermatologist or doctor. It's always good to research your state laws for cosmetology/esthetics.
And then your basic RN degree should be about 3 years. You can't do botox, lip injections,.. anything with needles or scalpels unless you have a nursing degree.
I'm not quite sure if you need anything to even open up a business, you know? It might be good to take some business classes so that you can manage your business well.

Not sure about LA, but check into a community college. Associate Degree programs offer nursing programs that prepare you to take the Nursing exam. It takes 2 years.
What are the rules/regulations for botox providers?
What type of insurance do they need? Are there other restrictions on the service? Do any states have specific regulations regarding any of the medi-spa type treatments?
I'd prefer information from someone in the business if at all possible.
I'm not sure about the insurance or necessary paperwork. All I can find says "check with the regulatory agency in your state" but the agency has no data. Good luck.
Has anyone tried and had positive results from lipodisolve?
This is a treatment done in medi-spas and some plastic surgeon's offices to disolve fat deposits in those "trouble" spots.
No I haven't. I would probably say this is ok for small problem areas, but liposuction would be a better solution if you have several larger areas to treat. HTH : )
Best treatment for spider veins?
I have a couple of tiny spider veins on my face. They bother me, mostly because they are from drinking (and vomiting). I don't drink like I used to and it's time to get rid of them.
I know that I will probably have to get an injection to get rid of them, but does anyone out there know what that's like or how successful they are at getting rid of them? Also, there are all of these "medi spas" popping up in my area that offer medical procedures in house (botox, chemical peels, etc.). Think it's worth checking out what's available there or just go straight to a doctor/ plastic surgeon?
