Myrtle Beach's GOP Debate will mark 17th within a year WPDE
MYRTLE BEACH -- The road to become the next Republican presidential nominee now runs through Myrtle Beach.
"Your leaders, chambers and hotels showed us a really good time and that a debate could be handled by the Myrtle Beach area," said South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Chad Connelly.
"This will give all South Carolinians a great opportunity to see the candidates before the First in the South Primary on January 21st," he said.
But while Connelly is putting on a debate in Myrtle Beach, the number of GOP debates is putting some people off.
The Republican Party has held nine debates already to showcase their candidates. Those big names include Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, John Huntsman, Ron Paul, Rick Perry, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum.
The nine debates will be followed by seven more before the one in Myrtle Beach, Monday January 16th, and some say holding the 17th debate is too much.
"I think it's almost like overkill to be completely honest with you," said Myrtle Beach resident Michael Xavios.

I am going to Myrtle beach in July. we are staying at LANDMARK resort. Have been to Blue water resort and Myrtle Beach resort. Both real nice. I went to VRBO.com and got this condo LANDMARK resort Oceanfront for $950.00 for the week with great amenities.(lazy rivers, indoor/outdoor pools, jaguzzi/spa, game room, gym, water parK) It looks real nice. But this website has all the condos for cheaper because they are privately owned. CHECK IT OUT. Also MBVRBO.com. They have seawatch on the list too. Saw it. It is nice! Good luck and HAVE FUN. We love myrtle beach!!!!
Hilton Head or Myrtle Beach?? Which is better?
My husband and I are wanting to take a little vacation next spring (kids are pretty much old enough for us too and we will be together a total of 21 years then). The reason I am asking this question is because I am trying to figure out which beach would be better. We don't golf so that wouldn't be a factor. Riding horses and going to the beach would be the prefered activities but would like to know other activities that might be interesting.......we are limited money wise so we can't do a 4 star hotel and spas....just a simple hotel with simple activities would be nice.....anyone have any thoughts I would greatly appreciate them!!

Congrats,my wife and I are in the same way as our kids are working and on their own(somewhat) and we have been married for 24 years and now we make a trip to the beach to relax and speend time with each other.
So I would say for relaxation go to Hilton Head and enjoy your time together.
I think Hilton Head is much classier...
