How do i do water nail art on my real nails without it sticking to my whole finger?
I want to do water nail art on my nails. But when i stick my finger in the water the polish sticks to my whole finger.
There's no way to avoid getting some of the polish onto your finger. You just have to be ready with a cotton pad/ball soaked in polish remover to clean up your finger.
So, as soon as you remove your finger from the water, start cleaning. Don't let it dry, or it'll be a nightmare to remove.
You can also try marbling (I assume you're trying to water marble) just as easily with a dotting tool. It's a mess-free alternative with similar affects.
1. Pick your base color, and how ever many other colors you'd like to marble with. I usually choose a bright color for a base, and then a darker color (in the same color family) and white.
2. Apply a generous coat of your base color, it's better to work with colors that have good pigmentation, sheer polishes will not give you the desired effect.
3. Immediately drop 1-2 drops of each marble color onto the nail.
4. Take your dotting tool and make figure 8's, or whatever other marbling pattern you'd like to make.
5. Tap your finger on a flat surface to ensure the nail polish lies flat (good quality nail polish will even itself out) and there are no air bubbles.
You can find a dotting tool at most beauty supply stores, nail art suppliers online (8ty8beauty.com, Head2toebeauty.com), ebay, etc.

I am about to start school next month. I'm going to get my Nail Tech license. Right now I'm having a hard time financially, the only thing I am really good at is doing nail art. Is it possible for me to be able to work in a nail shop and do nail art?
Sure it's possible. It just depends on if the shop wants to hire a person just to do one thing. Maybe you could be willing to do pedicures as well. Where I go they do have one person who just does that. Check around & get your name out there. Good luck!!

Hi, I am a cosmetologist and it doesn't matter what brand you use. You do need to look and see if the box you buy is old though. Some stores will keep them for years before they put them on clearance and they are brittle and yellowing and will break very easily. KISS is my favorite brand if you wanted to know. at my salon we use acrylic paints from craft stores to create cool designs. then use a clear top coat. sally's also has some nice striping paints. any washable acrylic paint should work.
Look for the nail polish with the thin brush,
it will be eaiser to make a design!

Do I need a cosmetology license to do nail art on my own?
I have been doing nail art on my own with the colors like at the nail salons for close friends & family. I know where to purchase the professional stuff cheap too. I'd like to expand into doing this for women wanting to save the $3 or higher fee per nail at the salons. Do I need to be licensed to do this or can I expand with just some business cards or word of mouth?
yes you need a liscence but the training is usually only 250 hours to become licensed.

Apparently you can't get them online yet, and they aren't even on Sally's site yet, nor Amazon. You can buy the set on eBay, but a bunch of people want them, so you'll get outbid easily if you don't watch it.
I have only seen them at Walgreens, and they were on sale. I don't know if they have them at Walmart, but I know someone got the wrong ones there by accident. You need to get the Nail Art Pens, and not the Fast Dry Nail Color Pen. Hope that helps!
