Is there a good resort/spa in the Napa area? Which one should I stay at?
I am going away for a weekend with my boyfriend and I get to pick the place. I want to stay somewhere in the napa valley and I need ideas. It needs to be a resort like place with spa services and room service....
Villagio is very nice. It's in Yountville and within walking distance to some the greatest restaurants in the Valley.
They do have a spa--it's pretty small though--however for the massages and body wraps it serves the purpose. I cannot remember if they have room service or not. With the room you get a comp breakfast each day though.
Silverado is also a resort with a spa--however I have not stayed and do not know too much about that property.
Carneros Inn is just outside of Napa (about 5 minutes)--it has a spa and room service. It's a bit modern, each room is an individual cottage--pretty neat. The bathrooms are gorgeous with heated tile floors and an outside shower. You also get your own private outdoor patio. Not much of a view unless you book the vineyard view rooms which are more $$$$.
If money is not an issue--stay at Auberge du Soleli in Rutherford--it's supposed to be the best place in the Valley--they have a spa and room service. The rooms run about $800/night (depending on when you are going--it may be even more).
Have fun!
A friend of mine - she and her husband are true wine connoisseurs - spend tons of time in Napa and Sonoma, and this is the only place they will stay.
Napa has a cute B & B with an indoor swimming pool. It's a pink house. Very delicious breakfast, too.
Ten Points for who can tell me the name brand of the furnature in the rooms of the Gaia Hotel and Spa Napa.?
Here is a link to the webstie.

Try contacting the hotel/spa. Many hotels now offer furniture and bedding for sale. If they don't sell directly they are happy to direct you to the manufactures.
any reccomendations for hotels, resorts, spa in Napa Valley?
Looking to spend no more than $250.oo per night. Looking for a sophisticated, modern, yet comfortable hotel, inn. Private patios, balconys with views are also important

Yoga or spa retreat in Sonoma, Napa or San Fran area.?
I am trying to find a moderately priced place to spend a few days relaxing and excaping from the world at either a yoga center or spa. I'm not looking for any place that is pretentious - just relaxing and moderately priced.
Any suggestions for a spa or yoga center in the greater San Fran area or even better, in Sonoma or Napa would be appreciated. Thanks!

there are many many day spa retreats in the san francisco, marin, napa, sonoma area.
there is one in sonoma, can't recall the name off the top of my head, but it's more of the pretentious type of place (I want to say sonoma mission inn but am not positive)

Feel free to e-mail me if you want specifics but their web site is pretty good.
I have not been to Harbin but from what I have heard it is a little too preachy/new age for my taste.
Wilbur is very low key and quiet.
where can I have a great bachelorette party in napa?
My first friend from college is getting married and wants to do a wine tasting/spa weekend in Napa. This totally sounds fun to me but I have never been there and have no idea what/where is good, and I am the one planning the weekend...help please!
For the upper end, there is a new resort in Calistoga called Solage. It is a full service resort with a restaurant, spa's, pools, etc. Another one that is not as pricey is Indian Springs also in Calistoga. For a more budget minded, there is a Best Western also in Calistoga, then you can go to Wilkinson springs for the spa treatment or a mud bath. My other favorite new place to visit and wine taste is a castle called Castello de Amerosa. It's a real castle , with a dungeon and everything. Really cool. I live in the Napa Valley
I'm looking for a nice day at a spa in wine country (napa valley, calistoga california)?
Does anyone have any experiences with any spas in this area, and even better, any you'd suggest? I don't want to go to a dingy "massage" place that only has intentions of "happy endings" haha
Harbin Hot Springs up the hill in Middletown is nice.Clothes are optional and not cheep. Nice large place,Rooms, camping, day use. Lots of water, lots of sun, try a Watsu in the warm pool.

Where is the best place to stay in Napa Valley?
Where is the best place to stay in Napa Valley?
I am planning a luxury retreat for 10 key customers to Napa Valley. These people have the money to do whatever they want so we need to impress. I am not very familar with where to stay and what to do in Napa other than drink wine, play golf and go to spas so would like some recommendations on the most high end, luxury accommodations as well as high end winery tours, etc. In addition, I would like to find a location that has a full service, high end spa. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Auberge Du Soleil http://www.aubergedusoleil.com/b is the best of the best in Napa. It's regularly voted one of the top hotels in CA and in the Nation.
After that, Meadowwood is very upper end, but I've had problems with their staff in the past (not classy or polite)
Calistoga Ranch is also supposed to be very nice. Same people as Auberge, but less fanfare. http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=calistoga+ranch&src=IE-Address
There are also several high end villas that you may be able to rent. Try doing some internet searches for Napa Rental Villas and you might have some luck.
Villagio is supposed to be nice, but I've heard some mixed reviews about it in general.
I recommend looking into renting some limos to set up winery visits. If each customer brings a guest, you'll probably need minimum 2 limos (3 would be more comfortable). Many of these services will include lunch for the group and some great wineries.
You may even want to plan two different tours - one for those who know wine and one for those that don't. The wine 101 groups can go the tour at Beringer (first thing - they give a GREAT tour) and then hit some of the more popular wineries (end up at Opus One). The wine 201+ can start at Caymus, hit Schramsberg & Twomey, maybe Stag's Leap & Silver Oak, and then also end at Opus One at the same time.
On a second day, you could even send limos to do a tour of Sonoma. It's more laid back and can be fun, but the wineries tend to be less known.
If you can finagle reservations at French Laundry for those who wish to dine there, go for it. I think they only take them 2 or 3 months in advance, so you'll either have to be lucky or know someone. Otherwise, the restaurant at Auberge is supposed to be great.
For wineries, you really don't need to do a thousand tours. Caves are caves, for the most part, and a private tasting is more fun as the day wears on.
High end winery tours:
Start at Caymus. This way you get the tour and tasting. It's by appointment only.
Stag's Leap (I'm not a big fan of their tasting set up, but a large group may be better)
Silver Oak
Darioush (reservations for large groups)
Schramsberg (appt. only. The best bubbly in the US. Tour & tastings only)
Opus One (over priced IMHO, but beginners love the name recognition)
Cain (appt only)
Sterling doesn't have the greatest wine, but their tram ride is beautiful.
Beringer really has one of the best tours in the valley. You can buy an additional tasting in the 'reserve library' and get the good stuff. It's really worth it, trust me.
BV (Beaulieu Vineyards) is great for beginners because they offer so many different types of wine. It's a great introduction. They also have a high end room that those who choose to can visit.
I have not been there, but Far Niente has some cult wines that the hoytie toytie like to consume. You may want to consider this winery as well.
Good luck! : )
They also have a restaurant with a beautiful view of the valley. Read a review of this restaurant at: http://www.cheers2wine.com/auberge-du-soleil.html
Another luxurious place to stay would be Silverado Resort. This place has golf, tennis, dining, and a full spa. For more info go to:
http://www.cheers2wine.com/silverado-resort.html You can arrange to have a driver pick up your guests at the resort and drive them on a winery tour. Ask at the resort for more details.
For limos, call Black Tie Limo Service. They have everything from a Lincoln sedan to stretch limos, to stretch Humvees. I've used them before, the service is superb.
For a unique winery tour, go to Sterling, which is upvalley. You take a tram to the top of the mountain for the tastings. Incredible views. (I used to work there.) And check out Mumms, Krug, and Domaine Chandon. Mondavi and Beaulieu and Beringer are mostly tourist traps.
Don Giovanni, Cole's Chop House, Fume Bistro, and Bayleaf are all very upscale elegant places, but don't overlook some of the smaller ones. The mgmt always accomodates upscale parties.
Any more help I can give, let me know!
Anybody know of resorts with a private spa on the balcony or patio in Palm springs, Napa, Santa Barbara?
or San Diego...really anywhere in Southern California, maybe even Rosorito, Mexico
Try this place - http://www.sycamoresprings.com/ it is in San Luis Obispo but they have private mineral tubs on the balconies of most of their rooms, great spa treatments and nice hiking. I stayed there with my mother for a "girls" trip, but I plan to go back with my husband at some point.
Any recommendations for a spa weekend in Sonoma or Napa Valley that includes massages, yoga, pool, etc?
I don't know about spa vacations, but from my travels in wine country Sonoma is much nicer then Napa. Sonoma is just so relaxed and peaceful.
Hi. Any suggestions for great, spanish-style lodging in Napa Valley? It could be spa/resort, hotel or B&B.?
Also some good winery tours???? Half and or Full day. Thanks!
Great winery Tours? And if not a spanish-style place, where would you recommend?
Here's a few links for places to stay:

Those 2 inns are sisters. I stayed at the Vintage, the Villagio was right down the street. We loved it. Big jacuzzi tubs in the rooms. It was romantic (perfect for valentines day). So when I was hunting down those links I found this interesting one that would be somewhereI would be interested in staying at:

As far as wineries go, you Must Must Must go to sterling. You take this sky tram up to the top, and it has the most incredible view!!! And if you go there pick up a bottle of the Chocolate Cabernet sauce (for ice cream). It was soo soo yummy!!!

Another cool winery to visit is Beringer. They tour you through their tunnels (used to keep the wine cold). And they have this gorgeous Victorian mansion you can look in that I believe belonged to the original owner of the vineyards. Their sparkling wine was good too.

beringer
We just drove around on our own. Most hotels have maps of the wineries and they're pretty much within a 10 minute drive from each other. But if you're planning on drinking a lot, you might want to go on a tour. Hope you have fun...don't drink too much!
