wha is the best way to do ur own pedicure? i have bought manicure kits for about 10pouind but all the varnish in them is crap!

if no suggestions for pedicures what else can i do to make my toe nails look cute/sexy/good for a prom?

I am a Hairstylist that owns my shop.I have private pedicure room that I want to use for pedicures. I think pedicures should be relaxing and enjoyable by all. What are your Ideas to make my pedicures get talked about all over town?

I like a massage chair with heat. When you exfoliate the feet, you should also go all the way up to their knee with the exfoliate and the massage. I think relaxing music the same as you get when you get a massage is nice (possibly like a ocean or a thunderstorm or rain forest) Good luck.

I presently have a day spa and would like to implement the spa fish pedicure using garra rufa or chin chin fish. Does anyone have any concrete information on how to go about it and where I can obtain the fish? It all sounds so intriguing and I think it would be a great treatment that would help boost sales even during the economy woes! It looks not only fun but therapudic.

Also take a basin and fill it with marbles. Hot soapy water. Let feet soak before doing the things with the tools. The marbles act as pressure points.

Use a cream that does not contain mineral oil (dries not softens feet) and a pulmace (pumice?) stone -
check in the foot section of a drug store.

MAke an appointment in advance and it is usually $22 for toes and $18 for fingers. TAke atleast $60 or $50 when you go just to be safe.

I want to get a pedicure at a salon, but I heard that they don't sanitize their tools so I want to buy my own. Problem is, I don't know whta tools I need to buy. Help?

Hi. am a beauty therapist my self, and therpist who work in a salon should alway always sanitize their tools after each client. But your right, there are some salons out there that don't!

What you need.

A foot file (to smooth down the skin on the foot)
A foot grater (to remove hard skin from the foot) pumice stone.
file to file the toe nails
cuticle nippers to remove cuticle
toe nail clipper
base coat. to stop the nail polish colour from staining the nail plate
Nail polish of your choice
Top coat, keeps the polish lasting longer. Give it a shiny coat
sandles so you don't mess your polish.


Ways To Properly Care For Your Feet

The Basics - Proper Footwear

Treating your feet properly starts with proper footwear. If you are on your feet a lot during the day, be sure that you choose shoes that fit well and offer proper support. Some very basic tips for properly fitted footwear include:
Shop for shoes in the late afternoon because your feet will expand over the course of the day. It is best to fit your shoes when your feet are at their largest.If your feet are two different sizes (and that’s true of many people) buy your shoes to fit the larger foot. Better to pad then to live in pain.

Have the salesperson size your feet when you are standing, not sitting.
Choose shoes with a roomy toe box and moderate heel.
If you must wear heels for work, keep a pair of comfortable shoes that you can slip into for walking and commuting.

Footwear is more than shoes, though. The socks that you wear can also make an enormous difference in the way your feet feel - and in preventing some common foot problems. Choose socks that fit your feet right. Loose socks can wrinkle inside your shoes and cause blisters and discomfort. Choose socks that have cotton or wool blend that lets your feet breathe and wicks moisture away from them. Your feet will stay cooler and bacteria will have less moisture to breed.If you wear pantyhose or stockings, consider slipping a pair of cotton pedi-socks on over them for the reasons above.

More Basics - Routine Care

Most women lavish attention on their faces - daily scrubs and exfoliation creams, moisturizers and special cleansers - but few do much more for their feet than run a cloth over them in the shower. A monthly pedicure is no substitute for routine daily care for your feet.Wash your feet with warm water everyday. Do not soak them more often than once a week, though, or you will dry out the skin.
After washing, dry thoroughly with a clean, soft towel. Make sure to dry between your toes.

Keep skin soft and smooth with a thin layer of foot lotion, petroleum jelly or skin lotion applied to the tops and bottoms of your feet. Do not put lotion between the toes to avoid causing an infection.Smooth rough heels, calluses or other rough spots with a pumice stone. There are some great new products on the market that make smoothing your feet easier and prevent injury to your skin.Trim toenails once a week. Cut nails straight across to avoid ingrown toenails. If toenails are exceptionally thick or yellowed, or if they curve or press into the skin, have your toenails trimmed by a foot doctor or a pedicurist.

Sweaty, smelly feet
If your body produces excess perspiration, you can end up with moist feet inside dark shoes - the perfect breeding ground for bacteria - which can lead to smelly feet. If you have a problem with smelly feet, there are several ways to deal with it:
Keep your feet clean with daily washing. Pay particular attention to the areas between your toes, where dead skin cells can collect and contribute to the problem.
Use foot powder in your socks.Wear cotton socks, or invest in anti-bacterial socks.
Use odor-absorbing insoles in your shoes.

Dry, cracked heels

The skin on your heels is especially prone to drying and cracking. This condition can be especially common in people with diabetes and in older adults. I would like to go and have a professional salon pedicure done, and this will be my first time. What should I do to prepare?

shave your legs cause ur gonna have to roll up your pants legs. Make sure your feet are clean and wear or bring flip flops(though they usually will give you a pair if you don't have). Think of What color you wanna get on your toes(you can do this when your there). If you can't decide, a french pedicure is always nice. Oh yeah and its always nice to tip.

I just gave myself a pedicure an hour ago. How long will it take to dry fully?

I've done it before where it's been an hour+ and then I go to sleep. I wake up and there's little sheet prints in the polish from my bedsheets! How long does it reallllllyy take?

It depends on your polish and how much you put on
It'll probably dry within two hours

Can you get a french pedicure that is coloured?

i really want a french pedicure that is coloured. like pink with black tips or something but i don't know if you could get that done at a normal spa, and if you know do you know what it would be called?

Of course! When you talk to the pedicurist, tell her the way you want it. I personally think black with white caps looks best :)
