Pool Supplies : Pool Supplies: Water Test Kit

A water test kit is a pool supply that tests the cleanliness of pool water. Test the water using the appropriate pool supplies with tips from ...

Do all pool supply stores have free water testing?

Do all pool supply stores have free water testing? I have a test kit but its really hard to see the colors.

yes they do..thats how they sell their products

I'm color blind as well have a friend help with the test

I'm pretty sure they do. It's good for business. I know all the Leslie's Pool Supplies do the free test.

Every pool supply store that I have ever been to does. It is a service for them to help find what chemicals they will sell you.

Why should a pool supply company start tracking their website?

Tracking you website should let you know how frequently it is used and what pages are viewed. While sales give you some idea, if a product is desirable but overpriced, you will probably see a lot of views and not many sales.

What's a reliable online pool supply company?

I'm looking for somewhere that is honest, reliable, fast shipping,e tc. Anyone with first-hand experience...?

I have used "in the swim" many times over the years.
Very fast, honest, reliable. A friend of mine started using
them also and they love them. I usually receive my shipments
in less than 2 days. Here is their link. Hope it helps.

Leslie's has been around for years and years and they are all over the USA. I have never heard anything negative.

Do I the landlord need to supply general pool chemicals for the pool at my rental property?

Hi Im a landlord for a Sydney property. Although I have paid for my tenants to do a course in pool care in which they have signed off on , My property manager still seems to want to charge me for salt, stabilizer etc.... Does anybody know what the law is when it comes to pool maintanance as I find the Fair Trading website vague when it comes to pool requirements. Thanks for your help guys.

Whatever choice, it would have to be clearly spelled out in the lease before it is signed. Tenants should be able to say yea or neigh and take that into consideration when renting.

Increase their rent, and use that money towards the chemicals needed.

i'm an ex-landlord in America. Owned such a property in Phoenix, Arizona -- seems like a reasonably similar climate.

here's what I found worked after I took counsel from other landlords in my community.

We hired a pool service outfit and added the bill onto the tenant's rent each month.

Maybe your Aussie tenants are more responsible than the run of Yank tenants we had, and ....

resurfacing a concrete in ground pool costs thousands of dollars. with proper care, it only needs doing once every 12 to 15 years. without that care, it can need doing within one or two years. That's a lot of difference and a fair bit of money.

so we took the decision out of our tenant's hands and hired a service [same for landscaping if it was more than ordinary] so we KNEW our asset would be looked after and kept up. [you don't want tenant laziness to damage your property.]

naturally, tenant pays. we'd add it onto the rent and collect it every month. Experience told us how much -- about 125% of the standard monthly service fee.

and then there was no question of who paid for the chemicals -- the service did and we paid them and the tenant paid us.

[In America, you'd not get a court to rule that the tenant had to pay for the resurfacing unless his neglect was obvious to even the most uninformed and then you'd have the almost impossible task of collecting from the tenant. tenants rent because they can't buy.]

I wouldn't expect the tenant to maintain the pool properly. There is too much they do do wrong to your pool.

Hire a pool service and figure that cost into the rental amount.

you have to pay for the chemicals and such. but as suggested before it is probably easier for you to just hire someone to come clean the pool and include it in the rent. seems strange to me that you paid for the tenants to learn how to clean the pool?!? I work in real estate and am a tenant myself.

I need a website where i can find a water supply for my pool. A delivery and not from my own faucet. pls help.

I'm in Elgin, Illinois (60123) and I need a water supply for my pool. Is it gonna cost me less than filling it up from my faucet. Please help. I need a website where I can find informations.

Look at your water bill and see how much it cost per gallon versus how much it would cost to have the water ''trucked'' in or if your local fire department will do it and the cost of them doing it and make your decision on the best deal for you.(P.S. check with your local water dept. and see, if you decide to use ''tap'' water; that it doesn't raise the ''sewer'' bill on the month you fill your pool because the sewer charge is based on the amount of water used per month.)

Have you tried your local fire department? I know where we live they will fill your pool for you. The permit to have it done is $50.00.

If you have water brought in, make sure it's not well water. If it is, it will have a lot of iron in it and and this will make your water turn brown when you add chlorine.

One more tip. If you have a newly built gunite pool, then you'll want to fill your new pool very slowly to keep from washing the finish off. The high pressure hoses aren't recommended.

Try the phone book. Swimming pool people should know. Call one of them and ask.

The web will not help you locate this low tech item. Sorry

The fire department is your best bet for this. They can fill a pool quickly with water for nominal cost compared to having potable water brought in. If you do have it brought in make sure it is potable water as non-potable water may contain undesirable content.

Ask your water company. They might have a special rate for filling swimming pools. Or have you looked in the yellow pages under "water"?

Look in the yellow pages under pool water or swimming pool water. I do not recommend the fire dept. The have to use a chemical to coat the inside of their tanks to prevent them from rusting and your pool will no doubt get some of it .

GOT THESE FROM THE YELLOW PAGES OF ELGIN
All three list opening & closing of pools
If they don't fill them maybe they can tell you who will

Don't bother the fire dept. The city dosen't want them moonlighting. Generally your sewer bill is judged by your water usage. Contact your water dept.. Give them the estimated gallons needed. Many will deduct the sewer charge from that amount.

Most water companies bill you for your sewer use as a percentage of your water use. Some areas allow you to have a separate metered line for the pool and outdoors water use that does not incure the sewage fee.
That's what my mom does.

What would make a great pool supply retail store website? We have 24 locations, but can't do e sales right now?

I'm not quite sure what you are looking for, someone to design a site, or you are going to design a site and then sell pool stuff later.

I use a site building program called SBI. They help you get the traffic to your site so you can then sell your products. It takes a bit to get traffic anyways, so start the site now, and then when you are ready to sell, the web traffic will be there for you.

Good luck.

where can I get the cheapest pool supplies?

we bought the house from my step dad last year and he left all the chemicals like chlorine and shock there, so I have never had to buy it and need to know where to go? He says he went to leslies pool supply cause the do everything for you but leslies is soo evpensive. Any suggestions?
atlanta ga.

It would be helpful if you would tell us where you are.

At least a country would be nice. The UK? The US?

A city would be even better!

go where the pool guys go ask one where they buy
it aint leslies

where do you buy your pool supplies?

It's almost time to open the pool, and I am looking for the best deals on pool supplies.

where do you buy yours?

In Arizona it's usually Walmart, the prices are less!

are there any discount pool supply stores?

I violently disagree. Lowes and Home Depot and Wally world sell low quality pool chemicals. Wish you could see some of the damage I've seen from people using this garbage. Unbelievable. Your pool is an investment-- part of your property. Why do you want to abuse it by putting "cheap" crap in it? Get rid of it if it is a nuisance. Otherwise treat it with REAL chemicals, get good results, and spend LESS time tinkering with it. AND protect your family's health. Long term damage to the pool structure and equipment is the result of poor chemical treatment. Buy good oil for your car, or buy cheap. How does it affect engine life? Same with pools.

Does either Shasta Pool Store or Leslies Pool Supply have the equipment to test my Salt Cell for my Pool?

First get your bishop to cast Satan out of the water, then call the stores and ask them.
