Do you have a portable hot tub?
I'm considering getting one but want to know what you think about them. Do they get nice and hot? Any information is helpful.
I just saw one at Big Lots and it looked pretty nice. It was $500 and even came with a locking cover. It had four temp settings ranging from 89-104 degrees. It says it sits four people but I thought that might be kinda squishy.
What is the best portable hot tub/spa that can be plugged into a regular household outlet?
I'm looking for value, quality and easy installation.
Soft tub. They are the most portable and the easiest to set up.
You have to keep it in line with water elements and make sure that the liner is flat when you fill it up. It's just that Soft.
I am thinking of buying a portable hot tub. How long do you keep the water in it? How do you drain it?
Does anybody out there own one? Could my dog wreak havoc by chewing on it? How expensive are they to operate? Would I be better of with a permanent one?
Yes your dog could wreak havoc by chewing on it. If you can afford it, buy a permanent one. It probably comes with a better filter. As for the water, once you get it filled up once and as long as you keep it filtered with the correct amount of chlorine in it, then you can keep the same water that was in there from the beginning. Just make sure you clean it properly and keep it filtered. Sometimes you can have the fire department come out and fill up the pool and it ends up being cheaper than just using your hose. And of course if you have questions you could ask the place that sells them your questions. They are probably more knowledgeable than anyone in here on the pools. Have fun!
HI, Can anyone please help me with a Portable Hot Tub Question?
I plugged it in, it started, went for about 5 min, then went off? I run a extention cord to it, (which I didn't know I wasn't suppose to) and 2 small of one at that. Then without realizing, (looking really stupid here) the reset box on the hot tub cord itself was ... wet. So did I blow it up, or can a simple fuse fix this or , or or ...I was in a hurry and blew up my own tub.ahhhhhhhh. Please let me know. Thank you Kim
Your tub should have a GFCI breaker that can be reset. Make sure everything is dried out first. You also may want to check the fuse or breaker in the house that you are on to make sure it is the right amperage to run your tub. Have an electrician install the right outlet for the tub. Its not just the tub you want protect, its the people in it!
Does anyone know how much a "softub" portable hot tub costs for the 140 and/or 220 models?
To find out what they actually cost. Take the MSRP from the manufacture:Softtub and deduct 40%. That is what the dealer is paying. The repair costs are out of this world and my opinion is that it's a really really bad tub. Very cheap materials and have we do not have one happy customer out of 29 that have them, nor would any buy it again. Pay attention to the cost of the new pump/heater combo for when it does. (You don't even want to know about a hole in it)
I find that most people benefit from the therapy from the proper placement of good quality jets, all your getting with their tubs is hot bubbly water with very little therapy with so few jets. If your motivated by the low cost then buy a big box entry level brand from someplace like Home depot.

T-220 $ 3000.00-3200.00 But if you go to your local Home and Garden Show. you will get a good deal.
What is the largest portable hot tub or spa available?
The largest hot tub I have seen was at a store near my house. It was called Pool and Spa Mart. I think it would fit 5-6 people.
Can I place a portable hot tub on the grass?
sure, granted that it is level AND you don't mind resowing that spot
Have a blast !
If you invested in some patio bricks and some bags of sand, you could make the tub level and keep it out of the moisture.
Does anyone have information on that portable hot tub? Is it worth the money?
Is it easy to bring with you camping?
The new 320ZX tub is the portable tub that's fun for the whole family. Pick it up at your nearest Walmart in the "non-existant" section for only $5500. THAT'S RIGHT! Only $5500!
it is worth the money and it is easy to go camping with

Hello we are buying a used soft tub and would like to know if anybudy knows about maintens and what we should look out for & what we need for cemicles for one
If I remember these are those small portable hot tubs that plug into a standard outlet?
If you have not experience maintaining a hot tub it is best to go to your local pool/hot tub supplier and have them teach you basic maintenance.
It is very important to have your chemicals maintained properly you can get some nasty infections from improperly maintained spa water.
Benefits of Portable Hot Tubs
Portable Jacuzzis and air baths are becoming very popular. Many traditional, built in hot tubs are losing buyers because of the number of benefits that portable tubs have. When deciding which one of the many bathtubs to buy, consider the many benefits of the portable hot tub and how it will fit with your lifestyle.
One benefit is that portable 2 person bathtubs do not need an external water source connection. They can be put up quickly and maintenance is low. It can be filled up with your water hose from the back yard. Because it is portable and doesnt need any water connection, it can be placed and set up anywhere you desire. Another benefit is that because their plumbing is self contained, set up can be easy and without problems. Most of the plumbing and accessories used in a fixed hot tub can also be fitted to a portable tub, which will ensure it works properly.
Choosing one of the wonderful corner tubs or other in home saunas can offer great benefits. The portable varieties are very similar to fixed models and offer the same comfort and perks. Many of them can be found with the same foam, comfortable seating in them. Portable Hot tubs are also made with the same jets as regular tubs. These jets are just as strong and relaxing offering massaging on many areas of your body. As with fixed hot tubs, portable hot tubs come in different sizes and fit certain amounts of people. The biggest thing to consider is buying a lightweight portable hot tub so that you have ease in moving it and setting it up. If you decide you want it somewhere else, it will be much easier to deflate and carry to another spot and set it up again.
When these portable tubs are taken care of, they can last a very long time. Be careful when purchasing cheap portable tubs or discounted ones. These can wear out easier and will not last as long as the portable tubs that are well made and put together properly. When maintaining the tubs, use the proper chemicals made for portable tubs. Many of the chemicals used for fixed tubs can cause damage to a portable tub because of the different materials it is made out of.
