GARDENING: It's about that time to fertilize your lawn for green spring Las Vegas Review Journal
Ridding lawns of spurge and crabgrass: Dig or pull them to prevent seeds from dropping. There is no chemical to get rid of them now. In late February, apply a pre-emergent herbicide such as corn gluten to prevent weeds from germinating next season.
Don't fertilize trees and shrubs: They grow very little, because they are conserving energy to ward off freezing temperatures. Feeding now makes them vulnerable to frost damage. Mid-February is a good time to kick-start them.
Stop tree hacking: The tree hackers are at it again, butchering mulberries back to stumps. Nothing is harder on trees than removing all of the growth. We are now seeing diseases brought on by severe pruning, and you can't replace mulberries. Wait until trees shed their leaves to prune. In most cases, tree hackers are here today, gone tomorrow. Check out their credentials to avoid trouble later.
Dead pecan branches: I visited a majestic pecan tree that was severely cut back by a tree hacker because it extended into another person's property. He left large extending stubs, and they died. I encouraged the homeowner to remove all stubs back to healthy crotches and keep it under control so she doesn't have to radical prune again, and the plant will be OK.

How much will root touch ups cost?
I'm naturally blonde, have been a light brunnette for awhile, and am going to dye it blonde again. The problem is my roots have always been dark while as it grows out the rest of my hair is blonde. I want everything to be blonde. So how much will touch ups cost based on my salons prices?
Single Process Color: $40 and up
Highlight: $70 and up
Partial Highlight: $55 and up
Partial Highlight with color: $75 and up
I might do blonde with lowlights that match my roots... so that I don't have to touch up and maybe I can grow it out again! But please answer my question, how much do you think touchups will be?
LISTEN UP! I know how much it costs to get it dyed but I want to know how much it costs to GET MY TOUCHED UP *AFTER* I HAVE DYED IT. I mean like. I'm gonna do my hair blonde okay? I know how much that costs! I want to know how much it costs to just touch up the roots every few weeks!
I'll touch you up for free.
good luck!
Anyone know about blonde root touch ups?
Ok, I have decideo go blonde. I know I will have to buy a lightner kit (I might buy two to be safe)and then a hair dye, semi permenant most likely. The only thing that I'm not sure of is after the 6-8weeks, my roots will start to show which will be medium brown, I was wondering whether the root touch-up kits are any good? If so can you reuse them for a couple times? Or do u have to use the whole packet everytime? Or is the packet just big enough 2 cover your roots?=S
If anyone uses them, I would appreciate your help very much so!! And if anyone knows which lightners dyes etc. to use. Also,If you are retouching your roots are the shades for example 'bright blonde' different for different companies? In other words, do I have to use the same company for my root touch ups as I used fo my hair dye?
PLEASE GO TO A PROFESSIONAL AND HAVE A CLIENT CONSULTATION. ONLY A COLORIST CAN DETERMINE HOW U SHOULD GO ABOUT THIS. UR NATURAL HAIR COLOR TAKES A MAJOR ROLE ON HOW UR END RESULT WILL COME OUT.
How Much Do Root Touch-Ups Cost?
For COLOR, I mean. I dyed my hair at the beginning of January and now my original color shows through about 3-4 inches. How much will it cost to get it touched up and how often do people do this (every 5 months?)
Depends on the place. Maybe 15 - 35 dollars. Go and see or call them! Also, there are products out there which costs less and you can do it yourself
Look for them at;
kmart.com
longs.com
wallgreens.com
I can make a guess...anywhere from $30.00 to $100.00 (probably closer to $40-50. ) - Is it one colour? or highlights? that also is a factor...
i'm starting a hair group on yahoo for everyone and anyone to ask any questions on whatever they want - i also have 2 hair blogs....I LOVE doing all your ages hair- you are all so creative.
peace

how good does the root touch up by clairol work?
I just used this root touch up a couple minutes ago & i want to know if its goin to work. I used the dark brown color one to cover up my blond.
how much will a root touch up and seven foil highlights be at mastercuts?
So I've been there quite a few times. I need a root touch up and seven foil highlights put in. I know the high lights run about 15, but I don't know about the root touch up.
Could someone tell me the standard pricing please?
How can you do at home root touch up without leaving a weird mark in your hair?
If you use an at home root touch up kit, does it ever overlap the existing color and cause a weird break line or is it mostly undetectable. I don't want my hair to break off at a weak points way on top of my hair or something bizarre like that. But I want to bleach at home and maintain it with over the counter box kits. Is that a good or bad idea?
I promise it wil break. You don`t have control of where you are place color in the back of your head, or anywhere. You will over lap and it will break over time. Out of lets say 50 people I have seen maybe 1 person that actually did a pretty good job, but they more than likely have good strong hair. I strongly recommend going to a Professional. Don`t be cheap with the one thing people see first.
What can I do to my hair with root-touch-up black colour when the rest of my hair is brown with blonde fringe?
I've got a root-touch-up kit (black) from when my hair was black but I didn't use it.
Now my hair is brown shoulder length with a blonde fringe and a small blonde streak randomly placed under my ear.
I'm pretty crazy with hair colours but I don't want to look stupid. Can you suggest how I can use the kit, and link to photos of what you mean, please?
Don't do it
I have been doing root touch ups on my hair every 4-6 weeks for a couple of years.?
I want to do an all over color to try to get back to one color. After perming, my hair as become almost 2 different colors. If I do it at home, what is the best way? Can I just put the color all over instead of just the new growth. I have lots of gray, so color often. Thanks!!
let the professionals do what they went to school for
dying at home is cheaper and a nice alternative,
but it sounds like you don't go to an actual hairdresser to get your hair colored very often,
so i would suggest splurging a little and treating yourself to a trip to the salon
(plus, if it doesn't come out how you want, at least you have someone to blame beside yourself!)
What type of root touch up is best?
Ok, My roots come back so dark and i need to know what is the best root touch up kit to use. I have used some before and they turned my roots orange. I have blond hair normally ash to platinum blond. What root touch up kit is the best to use in between hair colors and will not make my roots orange?
Just plain ole Peroxide
naturally brown hair dyed to light blonde...root touch ups?!
Is there any product that will touch up my roots from brown to the light blonde? I tried to dye my hair before going to a salon and the blonde dye in the store made my hair an orangy tone so I had to go to the salon to fix it. Seems like root touch ups in the store would do the same thing. Anyone with any experience? Thanks!!!
Definitely go to a salon. Blonde dyes in stores aren't really meant to be used on brown hair, especially not dark brown hair. They're mostly meant to make already blondes/ light brunettes blonder. I have naturally dark brown hair and completely destroyed my hair with store products trying to go blonde before going to a salon. Don't make the same mistake!
