Fall Spice: Pumpkin Spa Treatments SignOnSanDiego.com

Autumn has arrived in San Diego, and though we may feel refreshed by the cool overcast haze, it's safe to say our summer skin is less than excited for the new season.

Did you know that the vegetable most emblematic of fall is also one of the best kept secrets for skin care? Pumpkin makes us think of harvest, of holidays, of family and friends gathered around the dinner table. But as it turns out, pumpkin should also make you think of healthy, radiant and glowing skin throughout the dry and chilly fall and winter seasons.

That’s right – pumpkin is no longer just for pie; order up this decadent spice during your next trip to the spa in San Diego. A pumpkin peel can improve the skin because it contains the highest concentration of salicylic acid of any plant, providing potent skin smoothing and pore clearing action. Furthermore, pumpkin boasts more than 100 beneficial components with the highest concentration of vitamins A, C and beta-carotene found in any fruit or vegetable. Not to mention, it smells divine and elevates your spa experience to a whole new level.

There is a perfect one in Grossmont Center in La Mesa. I don't remember the name because I don't live there anymore but it is right between Olive Garden and Longs Drugs. Awesome prices and great treatments. It isn't super super fancy but they take care of you.

coldwater creek spa in otay valley center

Looking for a good resort or spa near San Diego or Los Angeles?

I vote for the Del Coronado.

Go to palm springs or palm desert
Lots and lots of spas

It is a little bit expensive but I think hands down one of the best resorts in Southern California. It is called the Surf and Sand resort and it is located in Laguna Beach, about 50 mile south of LA and about 60 miles north of Downtown San Diego. I been here a few times and both times I was there on a discounted rate ( I have a friend who works for this company) But I been other places and well for the price and what you are getting it is worth every single penny. You get what you pay for.

If you re not worrying about money there is the four seasons aviara in north San Diego which is quite expensive but worth it!

There is the newly remodeled and home of the Tennis US Open Resort. It is secluded and sit on the hills of La Costa surrounded by lush green golf course

If you want a newly fresh hotel.. the Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa is a high end rancho style setting hotel. There Spa is very cozy and intimate. Also once you drive up to the hotel you forget you are even in san diego at all. All along the property there are sented candels as light for the pathways.. by far the most romantic hotel ever! And it is reasonably priced!! AVE price $250-$375

I've been to all but the Bahia, that is the sister resort hotel to the Catamaran. They are all very nice, and all different price structures. Enjoy!

Oh, and Betty's suggestion is also a nice resort, I just didn't want to copy hers. :)

What's the most amazing, posh spa in San Diego??

I know that there's a great selection but I'm looking for the best... your opinion would be greatly appreciated... even if you haven't been to the spa if you've just heard rumors let me know... thanks!!

The Golden Door in Vista. It's so good it's not even famous It's the place Oprah goes to and it has been featured on her show. It's on Gopher Canyon Rd..

or

LaCosta in Carlsbad

I've always heard the La Costa Spa and Resort was the best. Never been but just have heard that.

Golden Door in Vista and La Costa are really the best our area has to offer. There are a lot of day spas offering similar services (like Transitions in Escondido), but staying at the facility and participating in the total spa experience is better than using the spa like it is a salon being there just for the services. Golden Door offers a lot more services than LaCosta does right down to the meals they serve and total wellness programs.

Agree with above. Golden Door is set up primarily as a residential spa with astronomical prices. There's a reason why the rich and famous go there. They're the only ones who can afford it.

La Costa works better if you're an area resident that wants to use the spa for a day and not reside on site. While I wouldn't consider it "reasonable" it is affordable as a splurge, whereas Golden Door would always be out of my price range.

I've known people who work at Golden Door, and they tell me lots of their staff have side businesses where they provide the same services that they do at the Golden Door, only since it's not the Golden Door, they only charge half as much for the exact same service.

Depak Chopra's place hasn't been mentioned, but some like them because of the quasi-medical services available. They are located at the La Costa site.

Can anyone recommend a good spa in North County San Diego?

I've seen a few websites for spas, but I was wondering if anyone knew of good spas in Oceanside, Fallbrook, Vista, or Carlsbad. Bonus if they give military discount.

I work for a big skin care company and you can find a spa near you on our web site. I know there are quite a few in those areas. The web site is dermalogica.com and then click on U.S. and then "get dermalogica" enter your zip code and it will give you a list of all the spas in your area. Hope this helps! :)

Is there "weight loss center" or "health club" or "SPA" in San Diego by the name "Golden Gate"?

http://www.goldendoor.com/

There is a location matching your description in San Francisco, but I haven't found any results for the listing in San Diego. Here is the information for the San Francisco location.

http://www.openlist.com/san-francisco-ca_golden-gate-massage-and-spa/62613079/

Nope. There are 10 entries for health clubs, FIVE PAGES of entries under Google for weight loss (lots of them Jenny Craig it seems), and (wait for it ) SEVEN pages under Google for Spa's, but no Golden Gate. :-(

Any opinions on a good Day Spa in San Diego, CA?

According to a poll conducted by the San Diego Union-Tribune, readers voted Spa Tiki in downtown the best day spa in San Diego in 2005. Here is the link to Spa Tiki:

http://www.spatiki.com/

The runners-up were the spa at the Four Seasons Aviara in Carlsbad, the Pala Casino Spa (which is a bit out of your way, unless you live in East County SD), the Spa at La Costa, and the Town & Country Resort Spa in Hotel Circle.

The only one I've personally been to is the Town & Country Spa, which is good, but didn't blow my mind. The ones at the Four Seasons and La Costa seemed good to me, and the Pala Spa seemed far away. I've never been to Spa Tiki, but I would give it a chance since it was voted the best in SD by the Union-Tribune's readers.

La Costa Resort and Spa in La Costa, just south of Carlsbad on the I-5.

Sent my girlfriend and my mom. they said it was the closest to Heaven on Earth

Do anyone know of very nice spa in san diego?

It is outside of San Diego but is so incredible!
South Coast Winery Resort/Spa
34843 Rancho California Rd
Temecula, CA 92591
(951) 587-9463
If this is a gift for your partner he or she will love it, also a very romantic atmosphere-enjoy!

It depends on where in San Diego you want to go. The major resorts all have pretty good spas such as the Hotel Del Coronado, and The Four Seasons at Aviara (in Carlsbad). From what I've heard the spa at the La Costa Resort is also pretty good.
