Choose the Best Organic Skin Care Products, Step by Step Feelgood Style

By Amber Evans

Choosing organic skin care products can be tough. There’s so much to consider and not enough information out there.

Here are a few tips to help you make better decisions in the beauty aisle. And always remember the cardinal rule: if you can’t pronounce the seven syllable words on the ingredient list, it’s not natural. Don’t buy it.

1. Know your skin type

The more honest you can be, the better. You need to assess what your skin needs most. If you are prone to acne, what is the cause? Is it dirt build-up from doing naughty things like sleeping in your makeup? Is it because your face is overproducing oil? It’s important to know your skin type and the reasons behind your skin afflictions because that will bring you to step two.

2. Know what the products do

When choosing a skin care product, you want to check out what each product does. Your skin is probably not going to respond well to a “one size fits all” approach. Instead, research cleansers that will nourish your dry spots and even out your skin tone. Your toner should restore pH balance and your moisturizer should calm and nourish your skin. Pick each individual product with care and make sure they compliment each other to achieve the best results.

What is your best skin care tip?

What is your best skin care tip? It could be something you do as part of your routine or a specific product you use.

Use toilet water

mark k

Avoid drinking artificial flavored drinks, water is the best for the skin. really. wash your wash with FACE soap, but not too much cause that dries it out. and use sunscreen when going out

Drink LOTS of water to keep your skin hydrated, and be sure to moisturize and cleanse frequently. Also, I suggest purchasing a spot treatment (such as Proactiv's Advanced Blemish Treatment...it's $18 but so worth it) if a zit pops up when you least want it to. It helps a lot! Good luck! :)

Fro your best skin its simple. Basically you want to stay away from these things
*Salty Foods *Fatty Foods
*Fried Foods * picking your face causes blackheads
*Lots of Sugar * Junk foods
also wash your face daily. In Addition, do not touch your face if your sweating because you push dirt into your skin poorsThe best thing to wash your face with is CleaClearasil try to get a facial wash that has beeds in it. Tiny beeds lifts dirt up out of the skin and breaks it down. Finally the best tip is to drink plenty of water daily i drink 7-10 cups if not more the more the better!

Drink LOTS of water to keep your skin hydrated, and be sure to moisturize and cleanse frequently. Also, I suggest purchasing a spot treatmen for effective management of special skin problems and are appropriate for use on eroded or denuded areas, as an effective means of incontinence protection and to assist in the prevention of skin breakdown you should use highly effective care products.good luck.

What is the single best skin care tip you could give to someone?

Curious to hear the answers:)
This is a broad question, Tell me anything you think works! From vitamins to take, home remedies to use, products to buy, activities that give you glowing skin, anything!

ALWAYS start with a clean face! I use a Buff Puff to really polish my skin and get it deep clean. Recently, a wonderful thing happened. I'd been hearing about the benefits of Extra Virgin Olive Oil as a facial moisturizer. I thought it would make my skin oily and greasy. Not so! It has turned out to be better then any skin care product I've ever used. Even the really expensive stuff! It makes my skin look healthier then ever before. Lines have disappeared and sun damage (little brown spots) has disappeared. My skin tone is even and I look 10 years younger.
So that's my big tip. EVOO is the only way to healthy and happy skin!

STAY OUT OF THE SUN!

Drink lots of water

always moisturize

Other than stay out of sun...

Dont wear makeup. Not only does it make many look unattractive, but it also is very damaging to the skin in the long term. Its not the makeup itself, but some of the application techniques, and the harsher cleansers used to clean up afterwards. Foundations that clog poors, powerders that dry your skin. Mascara that is impossible to get off, (think all that rubbing around eyes doesnt make wrinkles worse?)

As far as products... stick to things found in nature. Less chemicals, less animal byproducts. There are many organic skincare products out there as well.

when choosing skin products make sure u choose one that is suitable for your skin type (dry, combined or oily) and AGE.

you can't stay out of the sun.. but you can wear sunscreen everyday to avoid sun damage because the sun is the no. 1 cause for premature aging.

What is your one skin care tip that you just cant live without?

Thanks!

Just one?!?!?!? It is too difficult to pick one!

a) Drink lots of water
b) Stay out of the sun. If you need to be in the sun, make sure you have sunscreen on (over the top of your moisturiser)
c) Start a skin care regime early, and make it part of your day (ie - so it is like brushing your teeth - it is just something you MUST do!)
d) Moisturise!!!!!!

Vaseline,i use it everyday and my skin keeps getting softer!
Plus my scar is fading away.

always wear sunscreen in the summertime (or when it's hot and the sun id out.)

ummm...
~clean your face at night if you wore makeup
and
~dont burn your hairwhen you straighten it!
GL!

My Principal Secret moisturizer!

drink lots of water

Well I have 2.
1. DRINK WATER. Water is wonderful, for it helps your skin be healthy (don't forget your vitamins too).
2. Vaseline. It helps get off makeup quick and makes your skin soft.

Use witch hazel as a toner. It won't dry your skin. It also feels good on sunburned skin.

I couldn't pin it down to just one but here are my top two:

1. removing my make-up every night before going to bed
2. use suncreen!

I use a moisturizer every day...I can't imagine not using it.

moisturize!

Never use bar soap on your face! Dries out your skin.
Drink lotsa WATER!

Oh my gosh I love my sugar scrub. It gets rid of dry skin and the sugar dissolves and brings moisture to the skin. I use it about 2-3times a week. it last a few days. I also use it before shaving and it makes it so my legs have the moisture to handle the razor. it is like having really fresh young skin.

Gentle, oil-free moisturizer is what keeps your skin looking refreshed and young.

gold dial soap (it's antibacterial) works wonders on the face when used 2 times a day

I use Dove Moisturizer all the time and makes my skin feel and look nice. If you don't have to wear make up don't.

What Are Daily Basic Skin Care Tips For Men ?

What basic things should I follow in my daily routine, so I can keep my face clean, clear and always refreshing ? I am serious about my diet, I am not much into junk food and workout regularly 6 times a week. But I was never into taking extra care for my skin, so just curious and want to try things at home itself which will help me have great skin. so any natural ways or any men skin care products ? please post your views.

I usually use Neutrogena Oil Free it prevents and treats any acne without drying out your skin. Then an SPF 15 moisturizer such as Neutrogena Combination skin or OIL of OLAY ( I know) with SPF15. I would also put on a mask such as MINT or CLAY to tighten your skin and close any big pores you might have. Sensitive skin cream for shaving and you're set.

Get a shower mirror and shave in the shower after your face and facial hair is thoroughly hydrated.

What ever lotion you put on your face to protect it, make sure it has UV protection. Use facial cleanser on your face, not soap.

Additionally, the same skin care products that work for women in theory should work for men.

PS. Aramis probably has some of the best men's skin care products. I found much of them here:

http://www.makemeheal.com/mmh/product/beauty/aramis/index.vm?procid=13&catid=641

Go to the drugstore or Walmart or K-Mart & check out all the skin care products for men from Neutrogena & also Aveeno for Men. Browse thru them & pick & choose what you feel you will need. Read all instructions carefully & their claims of what each product will do for you. You must be the judge of what you need for your face - nobody else knows your skin type or what feels good to you - but you. Good Luck.

1. use only facial scrub or cleaner in the shower. Body soap is not for the face, facial skin is more sensitive.
2. moisturize.
3. use astringent or facial cleaner before bed.

I like the nivea for men line of products. They smell great and are formulated for a man's facial needs. They have scrub, lotion, shaving products and a great "anti aging" line that works great to reguvinate how the skin on your face looks and feels.

every month or so it's good to use a deep down mask or pore cleaner to strip down and pull out dead skin and clogged pores.

good luck.

I found the answers to a lot of my skin care questions at this blog: http://www.pureskincareline.com. You can also check out some really healthy skin care products at http://www.nurturemybody.com. I use the cleansers, moisturizers and shave cream, and my wife has definitely noticed the difference.

Anyone have skin care tips or info on skin care for women age 50+?

I've had oily skin but it's been dry lately and espescially during the winter months. I eat right and exercise but want to avoid wrinkles and eventually age lines. I sometimes do face workouts on youtube also.

I agree with mukunda. Most skin care products are damaging to your skin. Not all are, but the well known ones are often quite nasty. Unfortunately the skin care industry is unregulated and there are ingredients in skin care products that you wouldn't want to know about. Some are known to cause cancer.

Here's some more interesting reading about that:
http://www.squidoo.com/skin-care-problems

Crystal Peel> for an at-home microdermabrasion *use fingers & water* the exfoliation is extremely effective
Glycolic Acid face wash and serums keep skin fresh and reduces pigmenting, spots and lines.
Plumping serum>Prescriptives Line Preventor Extreme; it's oil-free
Use a good sunscreen and oil-free moisturizer like Clinique
Take a couple of vitamin C tabs per day - builds collagen and heals skin

Many if not most anti aging creams and products are skin harming and skin aging and can cause severe irritation, even cause acne and worse(confirm with a Google). Anything that you simply apply to skin is going to do very little, if anything at all. I have had truly remarkable success with safe, natural treatments using only essential oils and massage. They not only permanently healed my skin conditions but gave me an unbelievably flawless, healthy, young looking and vibrant skin. I am often thought to be many years younger. Daily thorough massaging with oils feed skin essential beneficial nutrients.and benefit it in countless ways. Massaging quite vigorously is even better for skin tightening and firming and giving you a vibrant, glowing skin. Don't be afraid of doing it vigorously. If done right it is only beneficial as many users on Answers will testify, There is no pulling or stretching of skin as you have to tighten face muscles in order to tighten or flex skin in the part being massaged and in doing so it exercises and conditions many of face (and some neck) muscles - thus combating weakening of muscles that eventually leads to sagging and wrinkling and lines. Massage using a forward and back motion using finger tips and front and sides of fingers depending where on face you apply it. Circular motion is less effective. In a few days skin will visibly tighten, look and feel smoother and it will start to glow. It can totally revitalize and rejuvenate skin and face. I can send you testimonials from users who swear by the treatment. Use any oil. I had great success with olive oil. Review some of my other answers for specific treatments to lessen and greatly prevent wrinkles and lines, crows feet, etc

Any skin care tips to keep my skin looking fresh and pimple free?

I wash my face daily with acne wash and I only get pimples sometimes, but when I do get them, they are sometimes hard to get rid of, what should I do to prevent them? Also, what should I do to stop them from getting larger when they first start out? What will make face look fresh and that kind of dewy look (without anything that will clog my pores)? Thank you.

why dont you try a mask to pull some of the oils in your face out and like the other girl said try not to touch your face a lot...

i went to the doc for mine because i had the same thing and he prescribed me Benzaclin...im not sure if they still make it but after a year of using it i dont get pimples any more (well maybe just 1 or 2 around that time of the month)

Dont touch your hands to your face!

The oils get on your skin from your hands and cause poors to clog up!

put cucumbers :)

In response to HaveFaith's answer, I don't think they make Benzaclin anymore, if I'm thinking right this is what my doctor gave me a free sample of because it was being discontinued, and that was a while ago.

You can try diana stalder products from http://www.philippineskincare.com/
try the lemon soap or the anti acne kit which is great to get rid of acne...

wash your face twice or thrice with water and apply tomato juice on it

Can anyone give me some skin care tips for males?

hello. im Nyl. well i just wanna ask some tips on how to care for my face specifically on how to deal with pimples. what are the effective ways of preventing pimple growth (ways i can do at home) as far as dermatology is concerned. and is it ok to put some anti-inflammatory creams on inflamed pimples? how do artists make their face flawless?

first start with washing your face more often, pimples are created from the oils in your skin. washing atleast twice a day will greatly reduce the outbreaks. Another way is to use an astringent on your face, you can use pure rubbing alcohol but not all skin types can handle it, if you need a gentler one try using 1 part witch hazel and 3 part water to make your own which is alot cheaper than buying clean and clear from the drug store but still the same effect.

An easy way to cover up and outbreak is to use eye drops on your pimple. Use the drops that are meant to reduce redness, I am not sure why this works but I read it in a magazine and have been doing it since. It only lasts for a few hours so you will have to do it atleast 3 times a day, but it makes them not noticable long enough to go on a date or whatever.

And I do not know of anyone using anti-inflammatory cream on pimples, so I cannot help you there!

I need facial stuff and skin care tips?

I'd ask in Skin/Body, but no one will answer, since I never answer there.

So, I started school a few weeks ago, and my skin has really turned bad because I've been so stressed out and I haven't had time or energy to do any good skin care, and I need some major face stuff and stuff for skin in general. Help, anyone?

I just need a small list of some cleansers, masks, scrubs, toners, and moisterizers/lotions for sensitive skin. I've heard that the St. Ives stuff works well. Your opinion? I don't need a huge list. Also, what are some good skin care tips that don't involve too much.

Thank you. :-)
Wow. I got a lot more answers then I thought I would. Thanks everyone!!! :-)

St. Ives really does work.
Neutrogena, I believe? has an oil-free moisturizer. The "top" of mine is orange, if that helps.
I don't use much apart from those two.

EDIT: Clean & Clear products are a hit or miss, or at least to me.
One of their products is great when my face is really oily, but otherwise, it's too harsh & removes too much.
The only one I trust no matter what is the pimple cream thing. I can't think of the name. It comes in a small tube & is usually about 5 bucks.

You didn't name this, but oil strips/oil-blotting strips, which I believe are by Clean & Clear too, are great for during the schoolday. It removes excess oil without smudging anything.

Best skin care products on the market?

Anyone know of reasonably priced products with good results? Any special skin care tips you'd like to share?
