How to know that the skin care product is suitable for your skin?

I'm 15 years old Asian teenager.
I want to know that how to know that skin care product like cleanser, scrub or else is suitable for skin.
Can someone tell me if that skin care product is not suitable for the skin, what will happen.
Does St.Ives Apricot Scrub suitable for teenagers?

omg! i have that exact same problem... i don't really know how you can tell if something is suitable for ur skin but i know St.Ives Apricot Scrub does NOT work for me. I had been using it off and on for about 10 months and i realized my pimples just wouldn't clear away, especially after i used it. so... i stopped using it for a week and all my pimples went down to tiny size and u can hardly see them anymore. y don't u try stopping it for a week and if it gets better, its not for you.

not sure but srubing too much at young age isnt good...

i use clearasil oil free acne wash, it's gentle, smells fresh, and my friends, of all ethnicities are able to use it with no problems and their skin looks great. scrubs can be okay too, as long as it's not harsh on your skin. the best way to find what works for you is through trial and error. try something, if it doesn't work for you, try something else.

Well I learned through trial and error. Your face will react to any thing you put on your face. Mine usually burns. I use a sensitive skin cream line. It 15, I think that Niva should be good for you. I wouldn't use a scrub at your age. Scrub creams are more for older skin types ....good luck

Depends
If your skin is just oily or if your skin breaks out. If it is just oily you need a skincare system that is for oil control and if it has frequent breakouts then you need one to control that. Also, it is important to make sure your using skincare that is always the same brand. They are made to work together and if you use different brands together your not going to be happy with the results. It is important to start taking care of your skin while you are young. If you start something now it becomes habit and you will always do it. Then as you age you will not have all the aging issues that the ones who didn't start young have.
Go to www.beautipage.com/melissacarter and look at the skincare. If you have any questions you can contact me.
hope this helps

The first thing you need to do before finding the right skin care product for you finding what type of skin type you have. Most products target several individual skin types: oily skin, dry skin, sensitive skin, acne-prone skin and combination skin.

Here is an easy guide for that. It will tell you all you need to know to choose the best skin care product.

http://www.menscience.com/Choosing-the-Best-Products-for-a-Mans-Skin_ep_83.html

For teenagers, you can just use miho bio foam, miho skin lotion and miho spot touch (to dry up any pimples when it popped up). Do it daily and your skin will be well maintained.

Ceck out the link as they also sell trial size before you commit to big bottles. Only available online and not sold in any departmental stores. Highly recommend.

No, that stuff irritates my skin and I am in my forty's,Mary Kay products have a line of skin products for teens, try looking into those. My sons girlfriend uses them and she has the prettiest clean looking skin.

(Many blessings)

It should say on the bottle what it was intended for, don't use leg cream on your face, don't use nail cream on your legs, etc. use face cream on the face, leg cream on the legs etc. I'm not 100% sure if this is the answre you were asking for, but i hope it helps! :)

Yes St. Ives Apricot Scrub is suitable for every age group. I like this web site they have all types of skin care on it and it works really well.

I regularly use face wash and cream and I would always go for products made from natural sources such as fruit and herbs.

The general rule is don't buy something that have too much unidentifiable substances/chemicals in its ingredients!

Also try products that have the same pH value as our skin (neutral). Seba-Med is one good example!

If you have sensitive skin condition, always get help from your local dermatologist.

try it on a couple of days and see if it helps

What skin care product would you recommend for 12 to 15 year olds who have acne and black heads?

Which skin care product is the best such as Neutrogena, Biore, or Pro Activ. I was also wondering if The Wave really worked because I've heard good and bad things about it.

Neutrogena ALL thee way!!! I have the Wave, it works AMAZINGLY. My skin is SOOOO soft after. I definitely recommend it because it is only 12 dollars! After though, make sure you use a toner to remove all the dirt and make-up after washing your face, you'd be amazed about how much is still on after washing your face. Finally, use a moisturizer with an SPF of 15. This will protect your skin from the very harmful sun and keep it feeling soft all day. Do these procedures twice a day and you'll skin will be awesome. Make sure you exfoliate your skin with an exfoliater, do not use Apricot Scrub because it contains shells which wear away your skin layers. Use something with gentle beads, make sure to exfoliate because our skin sheds every 7 days and if you don't clean it away, it will clog your pores.

Hope to Help and good luck! =]

clearisil, pick the blue shiny box. For $20 it is a full system, face wash, toner, and lotion with a bonus spot treatment. It works great!

I have tried almost everything on the market, like the brands you listed, and none have worked as well as ProActiv. I love it. All you have to do is once in the morning once at night...every day though. If you skip a day or two you're likely to have a mild-bad breakout. So keep up with it. The refining mask is included now for the first time you order and it works WONDERS. I have no more blackheads and my forehead, which is where my acne was the worst, is clear. I LOVE this stuff, and I'd recommend it to anyone. The wave, my friend has that, and she has to use clinical acne medicine with it because she continues to get bad breakouts...honestly I think it's different with everyone, but me and another one of my friends both use ProActiv and we swear by it. The price is worth it.

i recommend Clearasil ultra to treat acne and black spots. during the summer, use a lot of sun block and protect your skin at all times. if you have sensitive skin, don't try the wave because it is known to cause irritation on sensitive skin due to the ingredients it uses.

It's a good thing you specified your age range. What you currently have may not be very bad as you see it, but there's always a "calm before the storm" prior to breakouts. Also, that age you're in now falls within that phase when pimples are at their prime.

One thing you shouldn't be without right now is PATIENCE. It's a big deciding factor on whether your efforts to battle zits and blackheads, current and future, will be successful.

It's also a good thing that, this early, you're already conscious about your skin issues. This will enable you to nip the problem in the bud.

It feels great to find a place like this that serves as a channel for sharing knowledge, experiences, and anything else that goes with coping with an acne-stricken life. What besets us all may be something really common, but never simple.

I look forward to a fruitful interaction with everyone here, and it's a pleasure to join hands with you in our battle with the zit.

I have an acne-related blog that's a work-in-progress where you might pick a thing or two from. Do check it out at:

http://pimple-talk.blogspot.com

Best regards & happy zit-busting to all,
Yul

You are really done very well on searching skin care products. But especially for acne and black heads, its recommeded to treat from a specialist who you know very well through TV programs. Visit http://urlzoom.org/r8 to become acne free easy and asap.

Thank me later.

It's important to wash your face often. about 3 times a day. If you sweat a lot durring the day, running around, or playing sports, or working outside, you should wash your face as soon as your done. You should cleanse and use toner in the am and pm. . If you are having a lot of break-outs try using organic skin care products. They are less harsh on the skin and are not forcing you skin to battle the chemicals you are using on your face. Try break-out buster from www.centralparkdragonfly.com. Thay have very good products. Also some sun can help to dry up acne. Be careful to use at least a 15 spf. Facials would also be a great help.

What skin care product should i used to wash my face?

I'm a 21 year old man, the skin on my nose keeps on breaking out, and completely drying out. What product should i used to take care of this and wash my face.

To cleanse your face, I think you should use a product called Nutri-Pure. It's from GARNIER. It makes your face really clean and makes your skin look smooth&pure

Try Proactiv!

Cetaphil, u can't go wrong, its not too harsh and it still feels clean. Although it doesn't lather, its still cleaning. and you can get it in bulk. and then always follow up with an oil free moisturizer...becuase even though it seems like that would make it worse....it will balance out the dryness and the acne will clear up.
If you are really worried, try some drug store spot treatment. Or if its really bad I would reccommend differin

I use Vichy, it's a little expensive but really worth it. I used to have a lot of skin issues too but this product is amazing.

Try a sea salt or sugar scrub, I use it in the shower after I wash my face, so it's not dry. Plus sleep on terry cloth. Check out www.plushpillowcases.com They clean your face while you sleep. Sweet dreams.

What is the best skin care product on the market?

My skin seems to be acting up a little bit due to the weather. I have fairly normal skin, not excessively oily or dry. What's the best product to keep away blemishes? I wash my face everyday in the shower with Wet and Wild skin care, but that's obviously not working. Thanks!

if you want something form a drugstore buy clean and clear continuous control cleanser with the clean and clear advantage oil-free moisturizer. another thing you can do is go with all natural cleansers. try zyporex, its all natural and just for acne. it gives you a really clean feeling. natural can be the best thing because it doesnt contain harsh chemicals that can irritate your face rather than help.

What i use is called PCA Skin...it is the BEST!! You have to get it through a cosmetologist or a dermatologist though...but within a month my face was completely clear...i had tried so many things like pro-activ, clean and clear, neutrogena and nothing worked...this stuff is spectacular...i actually get compliments on my skin now...

aveeno skin relief mosturizing lotion its new its really good u wotn find anything bettter

Arbonne!!!

What is the best skin care to use for dry sensitive skin?

Looking for a new skin care range for dry sensitive skin, in the mid price range. I need a cleanser, toner and moistouriser. What could you reccommend? Please dont say clinique as i dont suit their skin care, and olay brings me out in a rash. Can you reccommend anything other than that? Cheers xxx

try the nivia range. i have sensitive skin and i use the nivia for men range. also if your hands are drying out and sore. remember to wear rubber gloves when doing the washing up or any cleaning when you are using chemicals/products of some sort.

I wouldn't suggest Clinique for you as it is very harsh.

I really think that you should try Clarins- it is excellent for dry skin and is great quality without being too pricey. If you buy it from a large department store then it will be cheaper and you will also get some samples.

You could try the Simple range, they have no scents and are suitable for sensitive skin.

Elizabeth Arden has a "Hydrating Masque" spelled just like that, that I cannot live w/out.

E45

Definately not clinique. What you have to remember is that the sensitivity and dryness are caused by chemicals rather than actual dryness of the skin. I wouldnt recommend using a toner, instead try a more simplistic approach of a good moisture laden face wash such as the 'simple' wash, letting the water be your toner (dont splash cold water on your face though) and then a heavy moisturiser. I am currently using the Nivea Q10 anti wrinkle day cream on my skin as being in my 30's with senstive skin I cant get away with the light simple sort of creams.

i know an amazing one, my sister got it from the spa its called 'phytomer-hydracontinue' its for dry skin and it moisturizes all day. if its not in your price range try 'suave' thats good too :]

I think E45 will work for you. I had very dry, very irritable skin until i tried E45. Its made for dry sensitive and it works . The next best thing i know after E45 is Avon's "Moisture Therapy" work really well too. There is also the Palmers range and I'm certain you will find a toner and cleanser to go with their "Skin Success Formula"

i realized after trying so many creams that almost all the scented moisturizers had perfume in them and that meant alcohol which helped to dry up my skin faster.

try nivea range of products and if you suffer from sore skin due to the weather use there creme that sort in the blue tub,i have used it for years and its the only thing that helps me im 38 and have tried loads of diffirent stuff and i always go back to nivea.

try Aveno no scent lotion....wrked for me..... :D

Just use E45 cream. Its cheap, but really effective. I get really bad dry skin in the winter, but the the day i put it on, the next morning my skin already looks and feels better!
It wont dry out your skin further and it's suitable for the whole family. :]

What is the best skin care regimine for someone entering their 30s?

I'm turning 30 soon, and have never really done the whole skin care thing other than washing my face in the shower. Now I'd like to start trying to take better care of my skin.

I have normal to combination skin that is prone to break outs on my forehead and chin. Very fine lines and dark circles under my eyes.

The best thing I could say is keep your face, neck and chest HYDRATED! and wear sunscreen on all those areas including your hands. Your hands and neck age 10 years before anything else. Try getting a facial or even a mini-facial as soon as you can and often
as you can. This will allow the products that you use to be more active because of removing the dead skin that ly in the fine lines and pores. If you are just using soap to wash your face, trade that in for some cleanser that wipes away impurities without overdrying. As for the breakouts that occur, keep an eye on what you eat. Try to cut down or stop dairy products. That should help your chin. If you are eating late at night or snacking late at night, you are not digesting like you should and that might be causing your forehead breakouts. Good luck on your venture. It is a life long committment but well worth it.

I would go to a dermatologist to find out what products are right for your face. If you are not willing to do that, i would go to a department store and ask the salesperson what product they recommend.

Stay out of the sun. The skin on my mother's arms and legs looks like it's melted. When she wears a house dress you can see her shoulders, which were never exposed to the sun. The skin looks like a child's.

take fruit facial

I'm turning 28 and I have normal to combination skin too. I use Nutregena Oil Free Cream Cleanser. (I also use St. Ives Apricot Scrub for normal skin in the shower after cleansing.) I then moisturize with Olay Oil Free Moisturizer.

avon has the solution

What is the best skin care products for oily skin?

I'm about to go to the store and I want to know what skin care products work best for oily skin.
Around my mouth my skin is very dry, though, so if you know of a good moisturizer that would be great too.

Ok... I know it sounds weird... but here is my routine...

I went out and bought a cleanser that advertises that it "fights oil." I find that alot of products advertise that they "won't dry you out" and "get rid of dead skin." But I guess oily skin isn't that common, because I need some SERIOUS help. Fortunately, I don't get too many breakouts or blemishes, I get so shiny during the day, that I can wipe my fingers across my forehead, and my fingers will be shiny! I've recently been doing something odd though... but it seems to be working,

At night before bed, I just use the cleanser that I bought (I buy a different one every time, to see which one I like - but my favorite so far is Biore's "ICE CLEANSER" or "shine control" - they're in green bottles with a pump on the top). I get dry around the mouth and corners of my nose too - I just rub some moisturizer ON THOSE AREAS. Moisturizer tends to make me even more oily, and I have read online many times, that it's best to only use a minimal amount, on areas that NEED it. I've been experimenting with an uncommon product lately though. Toothpaste. Just dab it on any blemishes you may have.

BUT in the daytime, like when getting ready for work (just ONCE a day)... I wash my face with toothpaste... I know, I can picture your face. It's weird. But I suggest that you try it at least once. Just rub it on, avoiding your eyes, and try to build up a lather. Then, without water, use a small amount of your face soap and wash it off. Rinse. It is the coolest feeling ever. It makes your skin feel GREAT. Don't do it too often though, because it can dry you out too much. But seriously, even if you don't pick this as best answer TRY IT TRY IT TRY IT. It's awesome.

I've had oily skin forever. And nothing helps me. Even things like toners and astringent seem to make it worse, and I dunno why! Lemme know if it works for you too! :)

As for makeup - powder is great to eliminate shine. Also, if when you go into a bathroom, check yourself in a mirror - if you see shine building up, simply press a paper towel up to your face. LOOK AT IT. It absorbs the oil right off of your skin. This works wonders.

What is the best skin care medication for acne while pregnant?

I've never broke out this much for so long and not been able to get rid of it in my life!!! Now all of a sudden the skin care product I've always used isn't working. Any suggestions?
Also, I heard on the radio yesterday also that proactive is great and although it definitely works its very expensive and there is other products that contain the same ingredients, oxy something, but forgot what she said so don't know what to look for.

Just a little information...
Proactiv contains the ingredient benzoyl peroxide; however, you're not supposed to use stuff with benzoyl peroxide in it while you are pregnant.
I know that Wal-Mart and Walgreens carry other cheaper brands that are knock-offs of the Proactiv solution, but most of them contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is also on the list of things to avoid in a face wash when you're pregnant!
A friend of mine was breaking out really bad while she was pregnant with her daughter; she asked her doctor about it and he prescribed her something (sorry, I don't know the name of it).
Basically, if you can't find anything that works for you, ask your doctor at your next visit!
Hope this helps!

What skin care lotion is best for your skin?

On my arms and my legs, I have places where I have very dry skin and I was wondering if anyone knew what skin care lotion product is best for your skin that you can get a supermart or drug store? I want brands of lotion please!

If you buy a product make sure it doesn't have mineral oil as that forms a barrier with your skin and since skin is a respiratory organ it needs to breath. For skin to retain moisture and not be dry it need to be able to absorb the moisture and retain it. I find it best to apply a good moisturizing cream immediately after I shower as this helps the skin to retain the moisture after being wet. Make sure the product you buy has the same PH balance as our skin which is PH5.5 as this helps the natural balance of our skin, and will help to reduce irritation and dryness.

Arbonne have some wonderful botanical products that combat dryness my son has terrible dry skin and feet and their product have had amazing results. However you need to have a consultant to purchase any products on-line.
