— The Blue Moon Massage and Wellness Spa has made its services even more enticing during the month of October. The spa has partnered with the Breast Cancer Resource Center and will donate a portion of its proceeds from each Wednesday’s visits to women with cancer.The Breast Cancer Resource Center, located in Tacoma, provides support to women fighting cancer, including makeup classes, resources and items such as wigs and scarves.
“It’s very traumatic with the diagnosis… A lot of times they come into it without knowing where to go, who to talk to — and all the resources we have there are free,” said Cherie Franich, a cancer survivor and volunteer at the cancer resource center.
Franich, who works as a receptionist at Blue Moon Massage and Spa, said it’s important to have such a resource for women going through treatments, especially the ability to receive a free wig, camisole and other items. She said anyone can help support the center, even with simple things like making special pillows that are used under a seatbelt after breast cancer surgery.

I will give you seven (incidentally, my favorite number) MUST and NEEDED major steps in order for you to be well-prepared in starting your own spa, massage or wellness center. Vegan Wellness Spa?
I am in the business plan stage of developing a wellness spa/ day spa that uses and sells only vegan/ botanically based products.
I am interested in doing a little market research, so I would like to know personal opinion on whether this is an establishment that would be sought out.
I am in GA and the closest similar spa is in NY. Is this the sort of establishment people will travel to? How far?

I have been a massage therapist for 6-7 years and was raised veg. I am going back to school to be an esthetician. My partner is a vegan massage therapist and is in training to become a nutritional counsellor.
We have a combined vision to provide an upscale health spa focusing on projecting and encouraging healthy self-image for our community. We would like to promote an image of beauty that is much more than skin deep and begins with a healthy lifestyle.
Also, I am a rep for a company that makes vegan/kosher botanically based products. The products are not only free of toxic chemicals and animal products or by products, but they work phenomenally well. The thing is, that company is growing tremendously even outside the vegetarian community!
My point being that I know there is a growing draw in the public towards plant based products.
We plan to avail ourselves to the veg community while educating the general public on the health benefits of using veg products
I would certainly come to it. In fact, please email me and tell me what part of GA. I live in Western NC on the GA border. One thing I would like to recommend is that many vegans became that way due to food allergies (in my case, wheat, eggs and soy) so I would recommend foods and products that would accomodate those things. Many vegan diets contain large amounts of soy. My research shows that 90% of the soy in the US had been genetically modified and contains boatloads of questionable stuff. My diet is primarily based on rice, quinoa and beans, and of course, fruits and veggies
So am I. I could buy lots of special "aromatherapy" products pre-made, but I'm not into it. Personally, I have bad experiences with these so called wellness shops which sell it pre-made, since they are much more expensive then buying the ingredients or elements yourself and mixing it at home AND because they are very much focused on SELLING stuff instead of giving advice.
I've been very dissapointed in at least one big shop (Essenza here in Europe) and found it better to do it all by myself anyway after that experience.
I found many places like that out west, but very few this side of the Mississippi. I think it would be a great idea to have one and I do think I'd travel to GA for it! Good luck w/ your idea. :-)
Is there is wellness spa in the U.S. that treats spine and depression problems?
My girlfriend has spine problems and has lost her center, due to pain and depression. She needs someplace that deals with spinal problems and the effects of depression and pain, so that she can get focused on healing.
Get her to a good chiropractor. They can do a ton for her, I promise. They are specialists of the spine and nervous system and they will be her best chance for proper treatment.

Some people say "sanus per aquam" is no correct Latin.
The word comes from the city.
'Sanus per aquam' is good Latin - It means 'Healthy by means of water'.

Any german Spa will do and has to do. Due to the german history there seems to be a wide spread opinion that Germany is a country full of racism. That is not true. In fact racism might be far under average compared to the other western countries, just with the difference that if a foreigner or non caucasian gets hurt it will appear in the national and international news, no matter if relation to racism or not. If an afro-american or african will be beaten in Germany, you will read it in the New York Times, if one will be killed in New York, will you read it there too?
As said before discrimination because of your race, nationality, relegion, sex or because you are disabled is forbidden in Germany and protected by the law. If there should be the slightest sign that you are not treated in the proper way, just call the manager. The person discrimitaing you will be fired most likely.

Anyway,the best spa ( for me ) would be Baden-Baden.Thermal bath.You pay by the hour,and you can use everything,from sauna,massages,pools (even outdoor pools in Winter-heated)
