Aramco-Dow venture 'a game-changer' Arab News

The joint venture called "Sadara Chemical Company" will lead to one of the world's largest chemical facilities, producing more than 3 million metric tons of chemical products and plastics a year.

Construction on the project has already begun at a place just 100 km from where the signing ceremony took place. The first production units will come online in the second half of 2015, with all units expected to be up and running by 2016.

Sadara is expected to deliver annual revenues of around $10 billion within a few years of operation and generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities through the complex and related investments in downstream value parks.

The authorization, from the boards of directors of both companies, came on July 25, 2011, after an extensive project feasibility study and front-end engineering and design effort that began in 2007.

Speaking at the power-packed signing ceremony, Saudi Aramco President and Chief Executive Officer Khalid A. Al-Falih described Sadara as a game-changer in Saudi Arabia's petrochemical industry.

How to get your spa chemicalized on start-up

How do I resolve a spa chemicals problem?

I've acquired a spa recently with the purchase of our new house last month. Two days ago I accidentally put too much alkaline raising chemical and now the pH reading is HIGH and the alkalinity reading is VERY HIGH. I can guess the actual readings are off the scale! I stupidly put the "start up" dose instead of the routine top up dose, so I put about 5 times too much. I've put the pump/filter on each day for two days, and the water is foaming up. Yesterday and today I added the normal dose of pH lowering chemical. I also have bromine tablets. What should I do next? Will the problem resolve itself after a couple of days? Do I keep putting the pump on each day? Should I again add the same dose of pH lowering chemical or maybe more? We've had the spa company in to service the spa, and they advised us to find a spa shop nearby - problem is I haven't found one so far. Any suggestions? I'm assuming after a couple of days it will resolve itself, but I wanted to check to see.

Contact your local spa/pool company and tell them what happened. they may have a chemical which will counter act your high ph

What's the difference between going to a medical spa for a chemical peel vs. a dermatologist's office?

You won't smell any herbal oils burning at the docs, they won't have mood music, insurance will not cover at spa, lady at spa cannot write a prescription, no cute girls at Doc office. I could go back and forth all day.

What SPA chemicals are needed to prepare for lots of people using the tub, and what can be done after?

Last time 5 people used the hottub, the chemicals went out of balance. Someone told me I could pretreat the SPA and posttreat to handle this temporary overload. What should I add?

Bromine tablets and shock treatment. If you need a little extra chemical shock you can grind up a couple of bromine tablets in a blender and sprinkle it around the tub while the jets are on. Hose out your filter really good and or you can also soak your filter is TSP (Trisodium phosphate) for a few hours to get all of the oils out of it then hose it off really good.

chemical free or natural spa systems?

I have a hot tub and I currently use the bromine, etc. IS there a natural spa system for cleaning the spa that doesn't have all the harsh chemicals?
which one does Kevin Trudeau suggest?

I tried one but it didn't get the spa clean at all. I can't remember but it was yellow and fit inside the filter..

well theres a combination of spa RX (copper/zinc) and hydrogen peroxide (25%) or an ecosmarte unit and hydrogen peroxide: http://www.swimming-pool-information.com/chlorine-free-pool-systems.html

Question about SPA chemical balance.?

I use bromine instead of chlorine to treat our hot tub. The bromine balance is right, but the test strips show the chlorine increasing (now at 10ppm). Should I just ignor the chlorine reading (since I never add chlorine)? If not, then what should I do and why is the chlorine increasing?

Yes. Ignore the chlorine reading. The two are kinda related, but if you are using bromine then only pay attention to what you test as bromine.

IS spa microdermabrasion/chemical peeling safe? what are advantages and disadvantages on going spa or dermatol

and any good spa that does microdermabrasion/chemical peeling around san bernardino, fontana, rancho cucamonga?

I'm a nurse. Check the doctor out before you have the work done. Many people have been very satisfied with the results, including me. Shop around before choosing a doctor.

Hi, I actually read this really good article about microdermabrasion, you'll find more useful information there I'm sure:

Spa Pool Chemical Help Please?

We have just bought a small spa pool, and would like to know the affects and side affects of all the chemicals we were given with it, are they really necessary. Our water has no chlorine.

H2 OK
Filter Cleaner
PH Decrease
PH Buffer
O2 Shock
PH Increase
SunPurity Mineral Spa Sanitizer.

So what I would like to know is: What do these chemicals do, are they really necessary, what are the side effects etc..

Thankyou

not familiar with the names of some of those for those read the instructions for use.Filter cleaner is used to clean the filter not to be added to the water.PH decrease is an acid to lower the ph level of the water no side effect if used per instructions O2 shock is an oxidizer used to free up chlorine or bromine in the water(you do need one of these)PH increase is soda ash used to raise the ph the spa sanitizer is probably your chlorine you will also need alk up to raise the total alk and a test kit(do not use test strips Very inaccurate)will want to test water every week for at least PH,CHL,TA(total alk (the most important test)) other tests calcium hardness and cya(chl stablizer)

what would make his skin turn blue in the spa?

Other night after spending time in an backyard spa,a gf of mine was quite alarmed to notice that the skin of her man friend's crotch area had turned a bright, darkish blue colour.
She asked me to have a quick peek at it and it was very noticable. Let me point out that the man was not wearing a bathing suit or underpants while sitting in the spa (ew it's quite a revolting picture lol) and also, that the discolouration occurred only on the man's crotch region, beneath the area where his pubic hair grows (yak...another revolting mental picture). Nowhere else. And he is not a blonde, his hair colour is dark brown.
My suspicion is that the man must've previously applied some sort of cream or treatment to the skin of his crotch which has reacted to the spa chemicals causing the treated area to discolour. But, my question is, WHAT TYPE of lotion or cream or treatment would react with spa chemicals (not sure if it was salt or chlorine) to turn one's skin blue?

Watch yourself around him.
Though he may not admit it this guy just may have crabs!!

Is there a non-toxic way to maintain an outdoor covered spa tub without toxic chemicals ?

Just moved , spa is 1 year old and looks new. Afraid of chemicals.

Do people realize that they sit in chemical soup while sitting in a hot tub or spa?

I am looking for products that are safe for my health and environment. I purchased a hot tub...without doing homework first. I recently checked out the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for the chemicals used. I sit in chemical soup. The chemicals used can cause lung cancer, etc.... I have fibromyalgia and found that I had no pain while sitting in my hot tub. No longer...I am too uncomfortable thinking that I am sitting in chemical soup. Can anyone help me find safe products?

If you weren't sitting in a chemical soup, you would be sitting in a biological soup. Take your pick.
