What is the best way to find a spa or salon for sale without ebay or other things?

I keep going to all these sites that direct me to ebay or buildings in Oregon, Chili and somewhere really far.I am looking to rent a commercial building

well, generally they lease commercial buildings (defined period with contract) not rent, and your local realtor can help you with this since lots of major realty companies list these "commercial lease buildings".

if you were looking to buy an ongoing business, such as a spa or beauty salon, then your best bet is to start in the major newspaper's classifieds "businesses for sale" section. There are also a few firms that specialize in buying and selling of businesses only, but i don't know where you are, nor can i recall any names at the moment. try searching for " sell your business" on the net, maybe you'll get some compnanies that specialize in that. good luck!

How do you unlatch the latches keeping the cover on a CalSpa spa?

I know...this sounds like a really dumb question...I got a used spa (excellent, barely used condition!) from a garage sale and cannot figure out how to unlatch the plastic latches holding the spa cover down. They seem like they should just squeeze and unlatch, but they won't.

I've tried looking for instruction manuals showing how to unlatch the cover, but no luck.

If anyone can tell me how to unhook the latches, or can find an operating manual for a 2003 Balboa Fiesta CalSpa, I qould be VERY appreciative.

Thanks!
Thanks Jim!! There just so happened to be a little black plastic "key" in the bag of miscellaneous parts. The cover latch came off with no problems!!! Yay :)

Now all i need is an operating manual found online somewhere.

Some latches lock, and you need a key to open them. Great for keeping the kids out the spa. You may need to lube them with some soapy water or just cut them off

How do I get people to accept my offers of free make-overs and in home spa treatments. What can I say to work

I'm having problems getting people to sit down with me, but once they do, I have no problems making sales. I need ideas as to how to get people to spend 1/2 an hour with me one-on-one or in groups. Since Beauticontrol is relatively new and unheard of, I can't seem to get people to want to find out more.

I need interesting ways to entice people to book make-overs with me or Spa parties. My webpage is beautipage.com/sacevedo for those they need to know more about what I'm selling.

Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

Wear tight clothing and look slutty, that should attract some people

if your a hot girl, il come to all your spa parties

Sure sounds like an ad to me!

YOU SOLD ME!

WHERE DO I SIGN UP?

have a weekly party, take out an ad in a local newspaper...ask your friends to have makeover parties, judt try not to suck that will stop you right on the spot!

Try getting on their insecurities about themselves. Be polite in pointing it out (it should be pretty obvious) and immediately recommend a solution to make it a constructive criticism. Remember to avoid insulting them. Always accompany a criticism with a solution and always make sure to sound professional and medical about it. That's how the sneaky businessmen do it.

Start with friends and family and get them to invite a friend or two as well.
It should roll on from there I hope.
Am in same position as you.
Need to take my own advice too lol

Good luck.

I've never participated in any of these types of marketing programs, but I'd suggest talking with some of your co-workers (assuming you have another job) or some of your friends to see if any of them would be willing to listen to one of your sales pitches (make up a flyer to give them that explains what you're trying to sell). If they say yes, invite them to your house (or wherever you normally do this), have some drinks and finger food for them and give them the presentation. If 10 people show up, at least one or two is bound to buy what you're selling...

One Mary Kay way is to put up a fish bowl in a local store/restaurant with "Enter to win $20 FREE Mary Kay." I don't know what your products cost or what your commission is, so adjust that number as you see fit. Call each of them (spread them out over a month or a year as necessary) and tell them they've won! Then set up a time to sit down with them so they can try your product and decide how they would like to spend their freebie...they almost ALWAYS buy enough to make up for what you have lost.

Good luck and hope this helps. Feel free to e-mail me for more tips!

Well my motto is if it's free, give me three so I'm surprised you're having trouble drawing people in because I would totally be up for a free makeover or spa treatment. I don't really know what you can do, but remember not to be too pushy, hand out lots of flyers, advertise in the newspaper and on the web and always smile. Try going to the mall or outdoor malls or where a lot of people are walking around. Ask people with friendly faces or bored expressions if they would like a free makeover. Hope business improves!

find out what local papers have free advertisements. maybe pamphlets in you area. or flyer's. this article has some great ideas on starting up a home run business that will help more

Referrals are by far the best way - if you're having success, part of your standard process should be to whip out a list of people the customer might know and be willing to give a free gift to: family, colleagues, hairdressers... it goes on and on.

Ask any insurance salesman, they all have the same script (because it works).

Good luck,
Scott

The weekly total profit (in hundreds of dollars) from sales of x spas and y solar heaters is approximated by :

p(x,y) = 12+ 74x + 85y - 3x^2 - 5y^2 - 5xy

Suppose 4 spas and 7 solar heaters are sold each week.

(a)What is the approximate effect on profit if the number of units of spas made and sold is increased to 5, while solar heater sales remain constant?

(b)What is the approximate effect on profit if 4 spas and 8 solar heaters are made and sold?

(c)What combination will maximize the total weekly profit? Be sure to verify that the maximum has been found. What is the maximum weekly profit?

(a)
make linear approximation to calculate the deviation around the point (x₀,y₀):
p(x,y₀) ≈ p(x₀,y₀) + (∂p/∂x)₀·(x - x₀)
((∂p/∂x)₀ is the partial derivative at the point (x₀,y₀))
the change in profit is
Δp(x) = (p(x,y₀)-p(x₀,y₀)) ≈ (∂p/∂x)₀·(x - x₀)

For (x₀=4 y₀=7 and x= 5
(∂p/∂x)₀ = 74 - 6·x₀ - 5·y₀
= 74 - 6·4 - 5·7 = 15
=>
Δp(x) ≈ 15·(5 - 4) = 15

Selling one more additional spa gives additional 1500$ profit

(b)
For (x₀=4 y₀=8 and x= 5
(∂p/∂x)₀ = 74 - 6·x₀ - 5·y₀
= 74 - 6·4 - 5·7 = 10
=>
Δp(x) ≈ 15·(5 - 4) = 10

Selling one morel spa gives additional 1000$ profit

(c)
At the maximum profit the partial derivatives need to be are equal to zero:
(I) ∂p/∂x = 0
(II) ∂p/∂y = 0
<=>
(I) 74 - 6·x - 5·y = 0
(II) 85 - 10·y - 5·x = 0
<=>
(II) - 2·(I):
-63 + 7·x = 0
=> x = 9
insert to (II)
85 - 10·y - 5·9 = 0
y = 4

prove the type by second derivative test:
∂²p/∂x² = -6
∂²p/∂y² = -10
∂²p/∂x∂y = ∂²p/∂y∂x = -5

The discriminant is the critical point (x,y) = (9,4) is

D = (∂²p/∂x²)·(∂²p/∂x²) - (∂²p/∂x∂y)²
= (-6)·(-10) - (-5)² = 35

Because D>0 and (∂²p/∂x²) < 0 at (x,y) = (9,4) there is maximum.

Can anyone tell me if 5% sales commission is standard for selling natural bath products wholesale?

I would be selling to high-end spas, boutiques, and major stores. The average sale is $800 which would be only $40 for me. There is no salary, or expenses they would pay for. Strictly commission.

That type of selling will always be determined by the people you sell for. If you want to make more commissions, most of the time you will have to meet the quotas set by the company and then see if you can negotiate a higher commission.

How do I use a facial spa?

I got this at a yard sale , new, but no instructions. It's a Conair Spa with auto shutoff and timer. I would like to know how to use it.
Thank you

there's all different types of facial spa's, but the one's that are more common all you have to do is put hot water in them and put your face over it, the steam on your face will get rid of blackheads.e.t.c.

What would be an Excellent product that would target sales to men in a four diamond resort spa?

Hello everyone i work at a world class five star four diamond resort in Santa Fe, NM. We have a variety of retail items, but very few items specificaly for men. What would be a good product that would target sales to men? We currently carry a shaving line and a facial skin care line just for men so we need something new...any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
thanks so much for the suggestions ..were looking for an actual product..not treatment..so the calus cream is an excellent suggestion..problem is this is new mexico..where as there are many men into golf i dont think there is as much of a demand for it here...

Anything that can be connected in some way to golf - maybe a golf-and-spa package with sun protection, hand/foot cream, etc, that includes a greens fee or free beverages or something.
