Spray tanning?
I must say that I love tanning, but I am really wanting to try a spray tan instead of regular tanning because of the skin cancer issues. How much is the average price of a spray tan, hoe long does it normally last, and are there different shades you can do, I don't want to walk out looking Really different the first time. I use the Mystic Tanning system...it takes 60 seconds...not including undressing/jewelry removal...it costs 25 bux...and its pretty nice. You MUST USE BARRIER CREAM!!!
What is barrier cream...*it protects sensitive areas like your cuticles on hands and feet...elbows and ankles....rub the cream they supply you with generously over/into those areas.
If you opt to not use it...u WILL SEE STAINING, POOLING OF THE PRODUCT ESPECIALLY AROUND YOUR CUTICLES. dO NOT SHOWER FOR FOUR HOURS IN ORDER TO ALLOW THE PRODUCT TO SET ON YOUR SKIN...U WILL INSTANTLY SEE YOUR "TAN"...BUT DONT BE NERVOUS IF U THINK U ARE TOO DARK....that "top" color will wash off when u get in the shower....the end result will be very nice.....bronze! Wear the shower cap they give u...pull your ears out, and make sure your hairline around your face is EXPOSED. (do not towel off excess product either....you will promote streaking that way.)

Spray-Tanning?
I'm thinking of getting a spray tan instead of going tanning all the time. I have fair skin n I love it when I'm tan, it just makes me feel better lol I don't know why but it does. But I get more freckles every summer when I get tan n it bothers me.
Also: I have excema (not a bad case, very mild) n want to know if it's alright to get a spray tan if I have that. N my mom has gotten moles removed because they were cancerous, I'd like to a void that in my future.
Before I just go get a spray tan I want to know more about it...is there a way to not be orange? I want a more natural tan haha not like Hulk Hogan eww hahaha....

it should be okay if u have mild excema and the night before you have it done you should exfoliate your whole body especially knees elbows and ankles lol (they are the dryest areas of skin)
as for cancer by gettin a spray tan its completely safe unlike going on sunbeds :)

I am young but getting somewhat older and I dread getting wrikles but love to be tan. I have quit tanning in a tanning bed but I have never tried spray tans. Just wondering if they will work the same.
Oh no girl!! Never do that to your skin. No tanning lotion, no tanning at the beach, no tanning salon!!!! This causes permanent damage to your pretty skin. The darker colouring of skin means that your skin is producing extra melanin. Melanin is a natural skin defense against the sun rays. If you wear tanning lotion, the oil gets trapped in your skin wich cuases acne and the like. Listen to me, natural beuaty is the best. Also, tanning cuases the premature aging of skin, so you get old easily and faster!
Spray tans professionally done, can look really great. They last up to 10 days. For a special occasion they give you that gorgeous tanned look.
I am very fair, so they made a great differnece to me.
Only trouble is they do fade and can wear off under arms , back of knees etc.
So I would try and see what you think.
Another quick spray tan I have is in an aerosol, I just spray it on my legs, to give them colour, but this one washes off in the shower, so you need to use it daily. Just have to be careful when wearing white.

I would definitely get a professionally sprayed tan from a salon, at least you can go back if you are not happy.
But exfoliate really well, this is vital. esp. legs.
Remember you will still need to apply sunscreen, if outdoors.

A one time spray tan is about $20.00. Prices on lay down beds vary. Level one usually costs $6, level two $9, level three $15. But if you've never been tanning before I suggest using the level one bed otherwise you'll burn.
whatever you to, do NOT go to a "mystic tan" booth unless you have mastered it which takes months. you will waste your money and streak. i promise.

They're quite profitable, providing you invest in some decent quality product rather than opting for the cheapest you can find.
Places where there is already a warm climate won't be in dire need of a tanning facility, so choose somewhere where the climate is mostly overcast so people feel like they're missing out on the sun.

Edited to add: I just went to Palm Beach Tan on Falls of Neuse (close to Newton Rd, where that other one is) and did Mystic Tan and it was pretty cool. No streaking, it's not orange, all even, and it was quick.

I recently got the airbrush spray not to be confused with the machine that sprays on tans(I have heard many horror stories about those). The lady sprayed me down and I had to not shower for 6 hours and not sweat for 24. I love it and I am tan not orange! I would highly recommend it! IIt's worth the money but you need to go twice a month to get darker.
How realistic does spray tanning look?
I've decided not to use a tanning bed. It's way too dangerous for someone as fair complected as I am. So I'm going to try spray on tanning probably on Friday morning. Is it realistic looking? I don't want to look like a walking tangerine.
I should add that I've tried tons of the self-tanning creams and the gradual tanners...because I'm so pale, everything always looks orange. There's this spray foundation out there for faces, and it's supposedly "No Color" ... Yeah...very orange. I usually use an Ivory makeup foundation, or porcelain, depending on the brand.
Just wanted to add in...I'm not doing this for popular reasons of just wanting to be tan. I also have a lot of acne scars on my back, and my skin tone doesn't look right with white, ivory, or black clothes. Since the dress I want is ivory, I need a bit more color to my skin. I actually like being as pale as I am because I know when I'm 40 I won't have skin damage. But one time for a class reunion isn't really vanity...it's just wanting to get dressed up some.
