Getting To Know You: Purdue's Danny Hope A Less Than Critical Look at the ... Maize n Brew
As a coach... well... the jury's still out on him Purdue is Zook's Hope's first BCS head coaching gig, and he's finding out that it's not as easy as it looks. Hope was Eastern Kentucky's head man from 2002(ish)-2007 before taking an offer from Joe Tiller to replace him a year later at Purdue. Hope was the "coach in waiting" for a year then, miraculously, as a "coach in waiting" he became the head coach. You see people. It can actually work, especially if the head coach in question is Wilford Brimley and has DIABEETUS medication to peddle.
Hope had a 35–22 record at Eastern, but only made the FCS playoffs once, losing in the first round. Now he's the head mustache at a school that hasn't gone to a real bowl game since 2006 (no, I'm not counting the Motor City Bowl). We'll see what happens. Last year's Purdue team was a MASH unit. This year everyone's back, but they're coming off injuries and Hope's said he's going with a QB rotation (which is always a good idea /...snickers..../). Looking like Bob Zook, having a mustache and being a dick will only get you so far. Now he's got to win. And judging by his personnel and his coaching record, it's going to be a tough road to get there.
Trying out a new moustache wax
After receiving a recommendation of a wax, I placed an order and it's arrived, so lets give it a go!

How to conceal a Woman Moustache without waxing?
How do you do it?
What are your secrets?
Without Bleaching either.
I read in a magazine (Prima I think) that you can bleach it lighter with a mixture of honey and lemon left on for ten minutes. I have never tried it though. :)
Here is another technique I just found -
The home bleach: Mix two tablespoons of milk powder, mix in a enough liquid hydrogen peroxide to make a thick paste and, if hair is very dark and coarse, mix in a drop or two of liquid ammonia. This is considered to be the least harmful kind of bleach since the powder milk in the mixture moisturizes the skin while bleaching, preventing skin burns and other reactions.
Well, if no bleaching...you could try one of those tiny hair trimmers.
Good luck!:D
Here are some hints that work for me between waxings:
- DON'T wear powdery anything (concealer, foundation, blush) the powder particles adhere to the hair.
- DON'T wear bright lipstick colors. they attract attention to your mouth area.
- DO wear dramatic eye makeup/hairstyles to redirect attention up there.
- DO change your skin tone. For example if your lip hair is blonde, lighten your skin color with makeup. If your hair is brown or black, go for a tan look.
Also, I don't advocate tanning (health reasons), but the UV light bleaches your hair naturally. So if you do it anyway, leave a cover off your face.
But, in all honesty, the best way is to wax it. It'll become thinner and sparser each time and you'll be able to go for longer periods without waxing.
Good luck!
14 Year old - Waxing moustache?
Hello, i am a 14 year old
My moustache is easily noticable
I DONT want to shave it as I know it'll grow back really quickly
Erm, im thinking of waxing it
But I have a few questions:
1) After ive waxed it, would it be easily recognisable that I waxed it?
2) How long does it take after you wax for your moustache to reappear (Even a tiny moustache, really tiny)
3) Does it hurt a lot or have any side effects?
Thanks ;]
im a male
and how long does it last for till the moustache re appears
Oh, thank goodness. I thought you meant this:
http://excite.imdb.com/gallery/mptv/1328/Mptv/1328/16666_0009.jpg.html?hint=group
1. Answer to ur 1st question is that it is not easily recognizable that u have waxed but the peaople who have seen u with moustaches may recognize it because they will notice a change on ur face.
2. They may reappear after a week or a month, it depends on growth of ur hairs becoz everyone is different.
3. Ya definately it hurts. Even if u pluck ur single hair it will hut a lot and when u will pluck/wax(a type of plucking) definatly it will hurt. And u asked about side effects it does not have any unless ur skin is too sensitive and delicate becoz after waxing ur skin become red due to plucking....
Moustache growth is normal. A very large proportion of the girls your age are removing moustache growth and most of the boys will be doing so by the time they're sixteen.
is the best way waxing or tweezing my moustache?
i'm 14 and i have a moustache.iwant to remove it but my mom doesn't let me.i want to know what is the best way removing it ?is it waxing it or tweezing it?will it grow back darker or thicker if i tweeze it?if i wax it?help...
But as you're 14 i doubt your moustache is that prominent for a female.
I'd suggest waxing it really, tweezing would be way to painful. Or you could just bleach it.
You just wax it, or use a facial hair bleach to make it less noticable
For your first time doing this you may want to just go get it done somewhere. (Don't try home waxing kits, the wax never comes off, and it ends up being a disaster.) A professional will be able to do it fast and though it will hurt, it'll be brief.
Tweezing is just as effective, but will be a much more prolonged pain.
Does waxing moustache make it grow back thicker and also how long does it last?
Me and my cousin plan to wax our moustaches and we are girls.
But we have tons of questions
1. Does it grow back thicker?
2. Where can we get the supplies or whatever it is we need?
3. What is the cost?
4. Does it cause bumps?
5. Will it have a bald white spot thats different from our skin color making it obvious?
6. How long does it take for the red to go away?
7. How long does the waxing last until we need to do it again?
8. Does it need to be a certain length to be waxed again? Or can i just wax it once i see a spot of hair ?
And anything else?!
If you have some serious stache going on and you only want to wax, your going to have to wait for it too reach like 1cm, and that pretty LONG if you have some serious lip hair problems.
Just shave.
Im thinking of waxing my 'moustache' is it true that ii will have to keep waxing and may get a rash or redness
I would suggest you go to an electrolysis or some where that does permanent hair removal before you start that. The hair roots are new and you have not done any plucking or removal so far to it should be easier for the hair to be professionally removed. The more attempts you make the more difficult it is to remove the hair permanently and the hair grows back worse each time. So do your homework and find a better solution.
shave it off!!!!
and the first day after you get it waxed it will be a little red; but it goes away quickly.
But I've never gotten a rash and I use Sally Hansen's wax stuff.
When i do it, sometimes i do it at a bad angle (aka pull it off straight instead of at an "along" angle), which leads to a bit of redness. But apart from that, it's actually okay.
And you wont have to KEEP waxing it, but it depends if you want it to be gone forever! it's just like ay other hair, it will grow back.
GOod luck, i suggest using Veet mini wax strips. And remember, pull against the angle it grows, and in a quick motion! Use oil on cotton wool to wipe the excess wax off afterwards.
xx
you may experience irritation, but any redness goes down within fifteen minutes, generally. you can take an anti inflammatory like ibuprofen or tylenol prior to your waxing to help manage any redness or swelling.
some people have more breakouts after waxing, it just depends on your skin type.
if I were you, I'd go for it. The results are great, and long lasting. I would go get it done at a salon or have an aesthetician/cosmetician do it before I'd try to do it from home.
You will love how smoothe it is afterwards!

but if it is for another reason like it is just really thick or something then you could always try waxing or lazar hair removal..
Where can I buy a good moustache wax?
I am currently growing a handle bar moustache and I was wondering where I could purchase some. Thanks
yes, the handlebar club rocks... but to actually buy the wax go to Sally Beauty Supply, it's $3.39 for a tube of wax and a little comb... i just got some today

Better idea... why don't you get some shaving cream and shave that nasty crumb trap off... Moustaches = opposite of sexy and a handlebar moustache? That will just look bizarre today, it is about to be 2008 not 1908... did you loose a bet or something????
I have a moustache, waxing DOESN'T HELP?
My mom waxes my lip every 2/3 weeks, but ive noticed its come back thicker, and by the way------ EVEN THOUGH ITS BEEN PROVEN THAT WAXING DOES NOT MAKE YOUR HAIRS GROW BACK THICKER, FOR ME THERE'S AN EXCEPTION
Waxing/plucking/threading -- in other words, pulling the hair out by the roots -- are the only methods of hair removal which can actually increase the growth, because they cause a rush of testosterone-loaded blood to the area you've plucked the hair from.
Think this one through carefully -- there's a lot of misleading "information" around.
There's nothing unusual about you having a moustache -- many girls develop one at puberty. Facial (and also body) hair on women comes about in the same way as on men because of
1) your body being sensitized, before you were even born, to testosterone -- doesn't happen to all girls, but does to many
2) your body producing high levels of testosterone
The growth rate and coarseness of the hair depends on just how much testosterone is circulating in your bloodstream.
Steer clear of bleaching -- when someone sees you against the light you'll look as if you have a glowing moustache. Believe me, it shows up far, far worse.
As far as removing it is concerned it's worth remembering that
* Waxing, plucking, threading, epilating all pull the hair out by the roots and where the growth is hormonally-driven can actually stimulate a dormant follicle into producing more hair quicker. They also distort the root if done repeatedly, leading to hair growing at strange angles. And you've got to let the hair grow to quite a length before you can repeat the exercise. It can also damage the skin and discolor it. Long-term use of waxing also causes bad wrinkles.
* Chemical depilatories strong enough to remove the hair are very likely to burn the skin, cause swelling and cause long-term discoloration of the skin.
* Laser is also liable to cause burning and discoloration and in any case only works effectively on a dark hair/light skin combinantion.
* Electrolysis is very liable to cause scarring and discoloration of the skin.
Which, like it or not, leaves shaving which does not damage the skin and does not cause the hair to grow more or coarser or faster. Best done with a men's-style electric razor, the best of which, for girls and women, are probably those from the men's range of Philips/Norelco razors (Philishave outside the US). Most girls and women who try a men's Philips/Norelco wonder why nobody ever told them about it before.
Or maybe ask the doctor if they can check your hormone levels!
is it true girls are waxing their moustache?
I'd say it's a 50/50 thing
Why do people say that plucking makes your hair (moustache) grow back thicker, but waxing doesn't? ?
aren't they both taking hair out by the roots?
i don't bleach mine, even thou it seems like a beeter idea, because it may turn orange and more noticable
I wish I could tell you why this is so, but it definitely is. I had thick, black hormonal hairs on my upper lip and chin which I usually pluck. I had them waxed to go to a wedding, and they have grown back much finer and softer. Doesn't seem to make sense, does it?
About Moustache Waxing..? GIRLS ONLY?
i bought a pack of wax strips, and i made some homemade wax, u know the one with the sugar and water and lemon. Which one works better for upper lip waxing? what are the consiquences? pros and cons? im goning to do it myself though. Is there anything in particular i should know before i do it? Will it irritate my skin? Does it depend on the type of skin?
im from the middle east... i dunno if that wud affect anything...
i reelly wanna get rid of my stache once and for all!
