Gordon Ramsay and wife Tana open a beauty salon Mirror.co.uk
Ramsay, 44, and wife Tana, 37, are currently renovating the salon, which is due to open soon, near their home in south-west London.
Tana will manage and work on the venture which should prove a hit with celebrity friends, including the Beckhams. “David and Victoria think it’s a great move for Gordon and Tana,” a source said. “The salon is opposite Victoria’s management offices so she will be able to swing by when she’s in London.
“The area in itself is known as ‘mummy’s paradise’ so Tana and Gordon think they’re on to a definite winner.”
It hasn’t been plain sailing for the couple in the past two years. Ramsay recently closed two restaurants in Australia and he faces a £1.1million court battle in New Zealand after pulling out of a number of charity engagements, citing personal reasons.
Ramsay is also embroiled in a public spat with father-in-law, Chris Hutcheson, his former partner. The pair parted after Ramsay accused Hutcheson of taking money out of parent firm Gordon Ramsay Holdings – which he denies.

Waxing...?
I have thin hair on my legs that cannot be seen unless you are close up. I am pending on whether to wax. I heard waxing makes hair thinner and lighter. And from what i heard, it seems that its true for the most part, there were a few exceptions. Has anyone's hair grown back thicker and darker? I am not sure whether i should wax because i do not want the hairs to come back thicker when they were originally fine, then i would have to wax for the rest of my life. How many times of waxing does it take for the hair to come back thinner and lighter? And is it guranteed to come back thinner...or are there exceptions?
hair ALWAYS comes back thinner.
When you wax, the entire piece of hair and the root are ripped out. The hair has to regrow and then come out of the skin.
When you shave, all you do is cut away the hair...no root.
The will come back thinner, but it may not be noticeably thinner the first 3 or 4 times.
What waxing product is good for hair removal?
Hi..
I'd like to try waxing my legs because my hair grows back the next day, and my skin is too sensitive to shave every day. I've bought wax b4 but it was a cheap and messy brand that didnt work. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good brand of wax and where I can get it? THANKS! =)
oh and how does it take for hair to grow back when u wax?
growing back…depends on you really, if you get the hair out by the root it could be weeks...the thing is that your hairs are growing in cycles, not all of them out at the same time so the hairs that were ready to appear will be too short to be caught in the wax and seem to grow out immediately. The nice thing about waxing is eventually the growth thins and slows.
I don't know what is available in your neighborhood, but I like the "Persian" waxes, washable wax with a pellon strips. If you get it on your body, hands or floor it washes off. Stir it before using and heat it only gently. If it is not too hot it works better.
Note: ignore any instructions to apply with the direction of hair and pull against the growth of hair. That doesn't even make sense. Apply against the growth of hair to get a better grip on it and pull in the direction hair grows to avoid breaking hair off at the skin and causing ingrown hair. Hold the skin very tight as you pull the strip, do small sections for less breakage and less pull on the skin. You can apply the wax in a larger strip and then wax a section of that at time.
Use a soft scrubber in the shower to remove dry skin to avoid blocking the pore as the new hair grows out. I've waxed my legs for years, some areas are hard to reach but with some practice (doing it at home you can do a section at a time if you get frustrated or bored) it is the best way to remove hair. Nothing beats how smooth it is when it does grow out and the way after some years, the hair shaft thins.

Does waxing really make the hair grow back thinner and lighter?
It is said that waxing and shaving makes no difference and the hair grows back exactly the same. Those who wax say that shaving makes hair thicker and darker, and vice versa. Is there anyone who has tried both or waxed for a long period of time? Does waxing really make the hair thinner? On personal experience, my hairs that were previously pulled out now appear darker and thicker-- and no i don't think i imagine it. So does waxing make hair come back thinner after many times, anyone have recommend waxing or prove that it made hair thinner?
its true trust me from personal experience. waxing lasts wayyyyyyy longer and comes back lighter and finer each time so that after awhile hair will harbly grow back at all. shaving just cuts the hair follicle so it doesnt really go away but comes back thicker.!!!
How do I prevent scabs after facial waxing?
Sometimes I wax my top lip at home and after waxing scabs appear. I think it might be because I dont get all the wax off. I really need to know how to prevent irrition and scabs because when I show up to work with a red top lip its a dead give away that I just waxed the night before and alot of time its really embarrassing.
i just that lotion that dissolves hair instead of wax. i got one from Avon
hope it helps
What is the purpose of using Waxing Paper under the Iron when Waxing?
I noticed in Japan, a lot of snowboard shops advocate using waxing paper when waxing your snowboard. They would place a thin sheet of waxing paper under the iron and start waxing the board nose to tail for a few times creating a very thin and smooth layer of wax coating.
Does this actually help when waxing the snowboard as you'll be scraping everything out eventually or does this actually help the base to absorb the wax better?
the wax doesn't get quite as hot and will lay down smoothly. also will make the iron last longer.
How does waxing an eyebrow do the same job as trimming?
I hear people say to wax instead of trim, but how does waxing make hairs less long? I have thick eyebrows and I don't see how waxing could shorten them, unless they removed every eyebrow hair. I use a beard trimmer with an eyebrow guard attachment and that works, but why would waxing be better?
waxing is a way of removing all of the selected hairs at once. the pros are that the hair takes longer to grow back, and it is quicker to rid oneself of unwanted hair in this manner. also, many say the hair will eventually stop growing in that area. the cons of this are that many people can develop an allergy to the wax, the wax may not be properly kept clean and infections could develop, the hair grows back stubbly, the hair must be a certain length before it can effectively be removed, it has been described as painful by many and uncomfortable by most, it is more costly than trimming, and the pulling action can damage the elasticity of the skin, causing wrinkles later on in life.
If your eyebrows are too long, or thick (my husband has the same issue) do this.... get an eyebrow comb (you can find them at the drugstore) and a tiny pair of sissors. comb through the eyebrow and trim the exess hair. or, you can use this little trimmer. it even has an attachement for thinning out eyebrows. it's very cheap, and can be found in many locations. i got ours at bed bath and beyond. this method does not pluck, it cuts. its pain free and easy to use.
Edit: reading these responses I think some of these girls are confusing what you are saying. They think you are using a beard trimmer to shape your brows. When you are using it to trim the LENGTH of the hair. That is why they keep say to wax.
What's the difference between waxing and laser hair removal?
I want to get rid of my unwanted hairs. Would you recommend "waxing" or "laser hair removal". What's their difference? I don't know exactly about waxing, never tried it before. What is the safest between the two. Thanks..
Laser hair removal uses a laser to "kill" the hair at the root. It can cost thousands of dollars and demands multiple treatments. It all depends on the area and thickness of the hair you are trying to remove. It can also lead to permanent scarring and adverse skin reactions when not done properly.
Waxing uses a hot (or sometimes cold) wax applied to your skin and a linen strip to rip the hair strand from it's follicle. It is not permanent and requires nearly monthly trips to the salon. It does have quicker results though. About the worst things that can happen are burnt skin and allergic reaction.
Personally, I feel that waxing is safer, but not permanent and a monthly hassle (but women are used to that!).
ooooooh and aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh =)
Waxing is way cheaper, but not permanent and is just as painful.
Waxing pulls hair out by the root. Laser burns it off. Both claim to do long-term damage to the roots so that eventually it doesn't grow back strongly or at all.
If there's not too much of it, do you really need to do anything? Most guys are OK about women with, for example, a slight moustache.
If you do decide you have to do something, then there isn't a simple answer.
Facial (and also body) hair on women comes about in the same way as on men because of
1) your body being sensitized, before you were even born, to testosterone -- doesn't happen to all girls, but does to many
2) your body producing high levels of testosterone
The growth rate and coarseness of the hair depends on just how much testosterone is circulating in your bloodstream.
Steer clear of bleaching -- when someone sees you against the light you'll look as if you have a glowing moustache and/or beard.
As far as removing it is concerned it's worth remembering that
* Waxing, plucking, threading, epilating all pull the hair out by the roots and where the growth is hormonally-driven can actually stimulate a dormant follicle into producing more hair quicker. They also distort the root if done repeatedly, leading to hair growing at strange angles. And you've got to let the hair grow to quite a length before you can repeat the exercise. It can also damage the skin and discolor it. Long-term use of waxing also causes bad wrinkles.
* Chemical depilatories strong enough to remove the hair are very likely to burn the skin, cause swelling and cause long-term discoloration of the skin.
* Laser is also liable to cause burning and discoloration and in any case only works effectively on a dark hair/light skin combinantion.
* Electrolysis is very liable to cause scarring and discoloration of the skin.
Which, like it or not, leaves shaving which does not damage the skin. Best done with a men's-style electric razor, the best of which, for women, are probably those from the men's range of Norelco razors (Philishave outside the US). Most women who try a men's Norelco wonder why nobody ever told them about it before.
Laser is more expensive, hurts some and is permanent. You generally need 5-6 treatments to get all of the hair.
Neither causes long term damage. In the case of laser, you just need to make sure that you do not have a tan when you are treated as you want the laser to interact with the hair follicle and when you have a tan, it can heat your skin.
What are the price ranges for waxing done by professionals in a mid-grade salon?
Can you list some of the prices of waxing for hands, half legs, full body, eyebrow, and bikini waxing please!
As done by a professional however.
10$,15$,5$,20$....on or about.
How can I get rid of dried wax after waxing my legs?
I waxed my legs and there are spots all over with sticky wax that won't come off! I've tried putting the hot wax back on and waxing it off, but it gets worse. Soap and really hot water didn't work either.
I was thinking nail polish remover...HELP ME PLEASE!
That sucks! I've never had that happen. I can't wait to see the other answers.
How Long After Waxing Can I Use Other Hair Removal Methods?
After many years of using Veet/Immac on my bikini line, I decided to bite the bullet and wax. Unfortunately, not all the hair has come off with the wax (still quite a bit left!) How long after waxing do I need to leave it to use regular Veet cream or, at a push, shave? I am seeing my boyfriend tomorrow evening and I need "down-there" to look good! Thanks!
You obviously have to have the hair grow back a bit. It sounds like you did the waxing totally wrong, or used really cheap wax. Or both...
